Have both Barry and Gaspard. Red Barry, Blue Barry, sage Gaspard and Navy Gaspard. Intend on adding more colours. I ordered XS in all. Barry is a bit too wide at the neckline for so may go down size on next one. Have hand washed the Gaspard and they do come back to size. Love them.

It has to do with the differences in the fiber blend. Fibers themselves differ from animal to animal, and the itchiness depends on the blend and the size of the platelets on the fiber. Your hair isn't the same as the person who lives next door and animals are the same way. You will find some variations in any blend.

I live in the US and cannot try any of these where I live, so I wanted to ask you a little bit more about fit. I am very petite, small shoulders, and I am small everywhere, except my bust! I am 5'1", 116 lb but my bust size is 32G. I worry that the Barry cardigan might be too low cut for me. I am also a senior so I don't like to expose too much skin below my clavicle. Not sure what size to buy in the Gaspard, either. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Both knits run large and the website recommends to size down. They also tend to stretch over time. As I mentioned I picked the Barry up in a medium for an oversized look. I would size down if I were you especially for the Barry because of the v-neck. Try getting the xtra small and small for both and see how they fit. You can always return the other. Remember if you are in the US place orders under $800 to avoid custom fees. I hope this helps. I know it can be frustrating. Have a lovely day.

Do you mind telling us your chest size and do you normally wear a size 10, 12 or 14?

I usually wear a size small or US 4 for my tops and I am between a US 4 & 6 for my bottoms depending on how I want them to fit. Remember both knits run large and the website recommends sizing down. I hope this helps. Have a lovely day.
