I agree with you with the exsence reel. Love that reel and for spinning rod Nrx 872s is my got to rod that can cover a lot techniques. The dark sleeper smashes the smallmouth last year at buckhorn for me 🔥
If you like the Exsence so much I encourage you to make the switch to a Vanquish. All the tech from Stella into a reel that weighs less than the Exsence! Basically a hybrid between the two. You won’t regret it!
Vanquish is better in pretty much every aspect, and you can pick them up for $250-$300 less than an Exsence. Just wish the spools were a tad bit deeper.
