This works. Here’s a secret - using hydrogen peroxide is how Pamela Anderson gets her blonde hair. In an interview from about 15 years ago, she mentioned that everyone thought that she went to a salon to get her blonde hair, but she just uses hydrogen peroxide.
I found this video a couple months ago. I'm also a natural Blonde but was having highlights done and got tired of the high price. Been using it for 3 months and it's the greatest product. No damage to your hair and you can as often as you want. I even just put it on my root before I go to bed and it lightens over night and wash it the next morning. This product has so many uses. Thanks Emmi for posting this video
what percentage do you use? SO happy to having found this video - I am also medium/dark blond and really hated to having full blown bleach used on my already light hair
You don't need to dilute it. It comes either a spray bottle which I spray directly on or if I buy the bottles I poor into a small bowl and use a highlight brush to apply direct to the roots.
I ordered Essential Oxygen hydrogen peroxide which shipped and arrived fast. Before mixing with baking soda I saw little to no results. I just tried it with 1/2 - 1 cup of baking soda which worked extremely well. Leave it in for 30 - 60 minutes depending on how light blonde you want your hair. Your hair should get very crusty and firm. Tiny flakes will fall off if touched. You should not need any cover. Rinse with cold water then use shampoo and conditioner. I am a male with medium brown hair. This is environmentally friendly, less expensive, permanent (removes melanin), private, and much safer than other options. Thank You!
Mix the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a bowl and stir it into a paste. The mixture will be more pasty at the bottom and more liquid at the top. Apply the paste with your hands. ANY hydrogen peroxide will work. I used some from Walgreens which was about 1 dollar. No need to buy expensive hydrogen peroxide. Store the unused hydrogen peroxide in a refrigerator.
I CAN UNDERSTAND IT. I WAS one of those salon ppl. The pampering effect was the best! To me😃 I believe we all need to be fussed over/pampered every now and again. This is why I chose that route. Although, with inflation EVERYWHERE and unforeseen bills piling up, I’ve had to “let the pampering go”. Thankful for all the diy videos!
It's working really good for me too. I am totally blond again from being almost brownish/ very dark blonde. I used it now a lot during travelling when I go in the sun.
So glad you found this video then :) 'Food Grade' means it doesn't have the toxic stabilizers that other "brown bottle" normal versions of hydrogen peroxide have. Our Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide is safe for cleaning baby toys, washing your produce before cooking, wiping counter tops or cutting boards, and SO much more!
I got this off of Amazon, and I don't know if there is much difference between this or the regular one at the store, but it did work on my hair! I put it on my roots and they are now my usual summer golden color. So happy!!! What I do is spray it on my roots, blow dry it, and wash it out in the morning in the shower. If you don't want to sleep in it, you can do it during the day. Depending on how dark or light your hair color is, you may have to tone your hair with toning shampoo. I haven't needed to though.
I had ordered this product for my saltwater tank ( to eliminate hair algae) I'm glad it came in handy to also lighten my hair! I no longer want to go to a salon, expose myself to the chemicals in hair color products and pay hundreds. Thanks for the info!
(From Emmi at Essential Oxygen) Yes! It lightened my hair very gradually, sorry if the video didn't show it well enough, but it would only be a shade lighter each time, so it took a few weeks of doing this to get my end results!
That was very helpful in comparison to other relative videos!!!! i will try this out. I am putting in my mixture: 1/4 Hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 chamomile tea (4teabags) , 2 tsp lemon, 1tsp Honey, and coconut oil. Wish me luck ^^ :DDDDD
I'll be using this rather than the topical stuff I have now! Can you tell us if this breaks down over time like regular hydrogen peroxide does? Or does it remain poteng if you keep it around for months or years? Or, are there any ways to preserve it?
Loved your video! Informative and great all around! Thank you! Ps- great smile (I was wondering the tricks for your super white teeth lol)- pretty all around nonetheless. Thanks again for the video although it was 4 yrs ago. Hopefully Amazon sells that HP spray.
I have been doing this for about 15 years with no damage to my hair,I spray on and go to bed,it doesn’t keep lighting,I gets to a point snd that’s it,my sister also sheep’s with in her hair, she has a beautiful shade of blonde
Apologies for the delayed response! (From video creator Emmi): "I spray the HP on my hair, comb through, and then dry with a blow dryer for about 6-12 minutes, or go outside to dry it in the sunshine for closer to 30 minutes. Best of luck!"
I used this last night on my level 6 dirty blonde roots, and it lifted it 2/3 shades lighter. I was shocked. I left it on for about 7 minutes before I started to use the hair dryer. The only thing I noticed is, the dirty blonde hair was lifted to a copper (slightly red) blonde/tan/light brown. Is that normal? I don't mind it. I think it looks nice, I just expected more blonde results.
Hi Scarlett, thanks for letting us know about your results, and we're glad you like them. Every person will have a slightly different reaction to this method. Since everyone is different this may happen to others, but for both employees Emmi and Carolyn at Essential Oxygen that use this method, their hair stays in the more white-gold blond after using FGHP.
Everyone will have slightly different results depending on your natural color and any existing coloring you may have done. Some experience more platinum blonde, and some more copper. Sounds like your hair responded quickly, so for more gradual results, potentially try less time under the dryer. Glad you liked it though!
Emma Rain Can you share the process to use the purple toner? Like at what point do you apply it to the hair, how long to leave it in, etc? Where to buy, and which one?
Olga Sench Yea, I used it and it got me to a level 9 blonde, it looks beautiful, but I think using this Hydrogen Peroxide alone will give you a more natural look. Depends on the results you want.
Hey Rainey day, sorry for the delayed response. We suggest testing a small part of your hair if possible. It's non-toxic, so we're not worried about anything harming your hair, but we haven't had a red-head try it. It has helped blondes, brunettes, and even fairly dark browns lighten their hair slightly. Keep in mind the longer you leave it on, or use a hairdryer to warm it up will have a more lightening effect.
When a red head lightens hair usually reddish tones remain and may need a toner to get a platinum blonde. If you don't mind a golden blonde then you will be fine
From Emmi (in the video): Wherever you spray the FGHP, it will lighten a bit, so if you choose to use it for the ombre effect just be sure you know where you want it lighter! I'm not a beautician so I can't give tips on making a good ombre, I just know it works for my blonde hair to get blonder, and I've heard friends with light brown to dark brown hair get lightening results as well!
Omfg finally a blonde who did it

Which percentage is she using I am wondering? I am experimenting with 3% and lately 6 % too. ❤🫶

How do you do that?
How much baking soda to hydrogen peroxide do you use

Thanks
Can you use it along with baking soda to make a paste and let it process in your hair you think?
Thanks👍 It looks great on you. well done❤
Hi! I have medium brown hair and I like it a few shades lighter. Does this lighten hair in stages so I can predict the intensity?

Yeah it takes a while. So keep buying her snake oil.
Essential Oxygen did you ever need a toner afterwards or need a blue shampoo to counteract any brassiness?
Will it go brassy if you have brown hair?
Can I blitch if its dyed?

Where the updateeeeee
@santrafairy did it work???
Do you have to rinse or wash this out after you dry your hair?
Yes, but some people leave it on for hours before washing it out for an extra light effect.
We recommend it, but it isn't 100% necessary.

can i leave it on or does it need to be rinsed out?
You can leave it in and walk around in the sun to help the process, but we recommend washing it out within a few hours of applying.
