Back before we could watch any game cutscene we wanted on RUclips, I video taped that particular moment with my fucking flip phone to show my friends at school lmao
You know R&C has good music when one of the best songs in the series is used for a completely unimportant story-devoid miniboss guarding a music video and a funny cutscene
Never understood why this boss was here, but then again, it's a bit unsetlling knowing that Ratchet is being actively hunted down. Makes me think the ship is like an assassin for hire.
This should have played during the fight against Giant Klunk. It would give more people a chance to appreciate it during a fight that isn't a complete cakewalk.
This ship was so badass, its theme alone lets you know Nefarious isn't fucking around. He wants you DEAD and anything else is unacceptable. This ship should've had a bigger role in the game than it did, its theme shows that it had so much potential but they just threw it all away. This ship could generate wormholes to teleport itself with! If THAT'S not badass, I don't know WHAT is! It should've been a major boss. Maybe if they actually DID have the space mission before the Phoenix when it was under attack, this warship could've been a boss you had to fight in the Star Explorer before you could land, or maybe you would fight it before you reach Mylon because it tried to intercept you?
The most menacing part about it is it doesn't have a "pilot" or personality talking to you. Its a silent foe that kicks up the difficulty a bit on a first playthrough. The ideal version of this 'character' would be reoccurring bossfights against it, both on planets and in space, each time gaining new abilities and weapons until the planet just before the one Nefarious is on. The big reveal for it would be that its been fighting you repeatedly throughout the game to gather combat data on you so that Nefarious could make a robot copy of Ratchet to fight him on the final planet as a final miniboss before Nefarious himself. That might have oversaturated the game with the ship though.
The ship was actually supposed to be piloted by a Nefarious follower/commando but Insomniac had to scrap that idea due to crunch time. They ended up removing that, but kept the ship boss
I see other people saying the boss was easy af and I feel embarrassed to say that I got stuck at this part for so long because that damn ship kept hitting me with its lasers and missiles
> Most inconsequential boss in the entire game > Theme goes as hard as Dr. Nefarious' Bruh, did Ratchet & Clank take a page out of Yakuza's/Like a Dragon's book before they even came to be?

1 year later and I have an answer. It was thugs for less.
Justin Kyke Why would thugs be hanging around on a Nefarious-occupied planet so far away from their home galaxy though?
@@superlombax1561 You bring the cash, we'll bring the thrash
Maybe it was someone hired by Tachyon?
another of the comments explained it: it was going to be part of a set of various minibosses/characters that got cut
*_We don't even know if its Nerfarious' men or just some random guy trying to kill you. Its just there and it has its own theme, so get to killin'_*
Where do these comments/quotes even come from?
My thoughts and brain.
Fair, thought it was some text for the mission or some unofficial game manual kinda thing
probably the best boss theme in the series, especially since it's a mini boss :D
I like Momma Tyhrannoid boss theme better

Totally.
0:57 is the best part of the theme
Yuri Bros it sounds orgasmic
The one person who disliked this clearly had no childhood.
Sounds a bit like the track from Planet Batalia from the first R&C game
COLBY BELTZ It’s actually funny you mention that, because the Umbris music is used in this game, on Zeldrin, the Crash Site.
Yeah, i can hear some batalia too at 1:37
This got stuck in my head all the time back then
I wish this was the song for the weapons facility part, this song slaps!

Yeah maybe it would be cool if the ship kept coming back throughout the game trying to hunt Ratchet down.

Daxx really brought stress into the whole thing. God Nefarious personal troops are tough bastards.
Now this, is music
The beginning had me hyped lmaoo
Better than all rift apart boss fights
How and why the hell people call this thing a miniboss I'll never know.THE THING'S JUST AS HARD AS NEFARIOUS!!
i only find it hard when my weapons are lower level
what are you talking about this boss was super easy lmao

@@afarensis9720 Late but I found this boss incredibly easy I used to kill it only using the wrench at times was pretty fun.

Forward March soldier there’s no turning back 🔥
mmm I can hear some sound effects from Jak II ost.
yeah man same!
Oh yh from the drill platform
Kinda like an electric guitar.
Insomniac and Naughty Dog famously helped each other out in some aspects of development, maybe that extended to soundtracks
Armed at the docks
Such a good theme wasted in such an easy miniboss...
Man during my free weapons only run (i had 4 weapons at this point) this battle was fun. You actually don't instantly destroy it with 4 weapons.
That ship maybe used aperture science technology
Borealis 2: flying boogaloo
This really feels like the Buzz Dungeon theme from Spyro 3.

I killed this thing with like 5 beams of death and a few nitro launcher rounds
Ammo Sponge: The Boss ™️
basically the Snagglebeast level from R&C1 but rearrenged.
This boss was so hard...
Nah
Nah, never died to this boss.
no it was not
This boss has never Been very Hard it's easy
I always beat this guy too quickly to hear the whole thing
Who can beat the miniboss with only the Wrench? I tried is impossible
