BIMSTEC 2024 LIVE: India EAM S Jaishankar Pitches for Infusing New Energies into Grouping
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is hosting his counterparts from the BIMSTEC member countries at a two-day retreat beginning today in New Delhi.
During his opening remarks, S Jaishankar said that, he is hoping for stronger outcomes from the upcoming BIMSTEC Summit 2024 in Thailand which is to be attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The foreign ministers are set to discuss avenues to deepen cooperation across various sectors including in the fields of security, connectivity and trade. Besides India, the BIMSTEC comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan.
