I was raised on all the old gospel hymns and love them all but this song is the best story of the resurrection I have ever heard. It is filled with joy and fills my heart and uplifts my spirit and reinforces my decision to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior so many years ago.
While serving in the Navy I made it to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba a few times. Charlie and his band preformed for us and it was wonderful. They played for over 3 hours outside without a break!!! After playing the band hung around for about 2-3 hours talking to individuals, posing for pics with fans and signing autographs. Solid great music and a public testimony for Jesus; Charlie left nothing out! I remember to this day how humble and kind Charlie and the bandmates were.

My wife and I have been so blessed to find a home at World Outreach Church. I never thought we would be comfortable in a "megachurch" but I was wrong. Everything about WOC is such a blessing every Sunday. Of course, the worship services when Charlie Daniels and others like Michael W. Smith sing are special. But every Sunday includes such amazing spiritual music and a wonderful message from Pastor Allen and the guest speakers. I was raised on all the old gospel hymns and love them all but this song is the best story of the resurrection I have ever heard. It is filled with joy and fills my heart and uplifts my spirit and reinforces my decision to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior so many years ago.
While serving in the Navy I made it to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba a few times. Charlie and his band preformed for us and it was wonderful. They played for over 3 hours outside without a break!!! After playing the band hung around for about 2-3 hours talking to individuals, posing for pics with fans and signing autographs. Solid great music and a public testimony for Jesus; Charlie left nothing out! I remember to this day how humble and kind Charlie and the bandmates were.
Love this reminder that WE DONT DIE! We are eternal souls, and are loved by our Heavenly Father.

I am sitting here in tears! I have heard MANY versions of this classic by many polished and world renowned artists. But Charlie's version.....WOW! I just caught a glimpse of the rough-cut and brash Simon Peter proclaiming the glorious news of CHRIST'S resurrection from the dead!. Well done sir!
