This brings back so many memories :/ cant believe its ben years man, i remember getting into mma because of urijah faber and WEC
Man it's nice reminiscing the days when Urijah seemed like an unstoppable animal.
he still is, if you just dont take barao and cruz to the picture...
Hakan D aldo could be champ in that division for the next 10 years, he's 27
MrJesulius He is the only guy who beat DC and his last fight with him was extremely close
JEKARI crazy 5 years later He Faber is about to have a fight and Barao got released
I freaking miss wec. All the fights were so good
***** I know but it was different. All the fights were from smaller guys which made for great entertainment. Not to mentioned they were ppv quality fights that were free.
***** originally but it's turning over. The lightweight division it's regarded as best in the league.
***** I agree
I'm glad the UFC uploaded this. I wish they would put more of this Primetime/Countdown like shows onto Fight Pass.
True pioneer of the sport. I want to see the Miguel Torrez one too tho.
When the day is said and done, Urijah Faber will always be the one that I think is a true and honest competitor and underdog. There' s no denying that fact. Don't get me wrong both of these gentleman are good at the style and techniques that they trained for. Keep up the good work.
I'm so sick of hearing "best pound for pound." At this rate, Hell, even I'm the best pound for pound fighter. And you, reading this comment, you are also best pound for pound.
Thanks man :')
Arwsome man
did we just jump back in time to 2008?
I wish. Last year sucked!
UFC should upload more WEC countdown shows like this.
They said "pound for pound best cage fighter" lol
Meow Meth he was in wec days
Lmao at that time he was def 1 of the top p4p guys in the world.
I miss WEC. :( The days of stacked cards is over unfortunately.
Yeah I agree with ya. Those days are long gone now,the ufc is spreading itself way too thin now to get exposure and the cards are undoubtedly suffering. I personally preffered it back in the day when it seemed like the sport was " just for us" if you know what I mean? Plus all these new " fans" pop up talking crap about a subject they know literally nothing about, referring to some fighters as " cans" and just irritating the hell out of fans who have been on board since way back when.
stop UFO fakes if anyone doubt's my last statement then I will refer you to yangstaboi101's comment. * sigh*
Poor Spencer Fisher. Seeing him like this breaks my heart after the news from last year that he has pugilistic dementia and almost definitely CTE. King Fisher was the main man back in the day, fights were ALWAYS these exciting, drama filled, slobber-knockers!
Oh man I remember this. Great memories for me
who isnt the best cage fighter in the world... as far as these videos there must be 1000s of them
Is this a trailer for Back to the future 4?
Lol
awesome
post up more old countdowns from the WEC!!!!!! was there one for the PPV that was done? should put that one up aswell
more!!!
Why did they upload this..?
Faber's fight is coming up
Back when life was good!
What's next, UFC 6?
whats the name of that beat 26.39 ? keep hearing it alot
we found out!
Classic
Haha jens pulver training in 'the garage'
The "undeafeated" Jens Pulver in the description
It's not even that... "best pound for pound cage fighter Urijah Faber" that made me piss myself!
It says undefeated because he was undefeated at 145 at the time
hawzfest I think it's only met for WEC buuuuut then again probably not.....either way we all know it only applies to WEC at that time
Undefeated? Give us a break.
it's hilarious how they say Jens Pulver was undefeated at featherweight... he was technically, but he only had ONE fight at featherweight! And he lost several other times, just the promotion seems a little fishy :p
pulver we luv ya, but why on earth you still boxing around in the mma world?
Uuuuhhhh master tong spoke English in this video. Narratator said he cant🙄
Hmmmm. All that tribal design in the intro ahahha
(I know this is a really old comment)
Sponsored by Ed Hardy, bro!
Can we talk about where they are all now? Urijah Faber is the only one still relevant. PLUS Faber is older now than Pulver was then. Lol. "Over the hill" mhm Jens. & Torres? He's been gone for a while too. Lol.
Man Torres looked so nasty back in the day, can't believe he didn't pan out..
I'm confused as to why it says undefeated Jens Pulver... before this fight he'd lost to Joe Lauzon, BJ Penn, Din Thomas and Duane Ludwig to name a few.
They say hes undefeated at 145, however he was demolished at 155 so...... its bullshit
Yeah I realized after I started watching it haha, my bad. They definitely should have made it a lot more clearer.
@@Copen70 he was champ at lw my guy. He is a fighter from a diff era my man. Puvlers prime was in like 2003-6
the hell?!? is the WEC like the NBA D league??
The Greatest fight in WEC history has Jens Pulver as a Competitor....... Thats fucking sad
Not really.
This wasn’t the best fight they ever had. Cerrone vs Henderson
WEC , strikeforce were awesome UFC suks nowdays
There is just way more of it... not every NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL game is exciting or competitive. It's okay for the UFC to have a few stinkers, it's a necessary evil in order to expand the product, and it isn't really their fault that fighters don't step up.
#TBT
Where the fuck is the fight??????
Well I guess its time to relive Faber's glory days... long gone. Sorry Cali Kid, you won't ever be champ again. You've tried 3 times now in the UFC. just isn't gunna happen.
Hater
????????????????????
lol uria fabaer *facepalm*
Um.. I watched mma back in 2007. Faber was never the p4p best.
He wasn’t, but it was a hype package. He was great though. It’s such a shame that the WEC guys weren’t brought into the ufc a little sooner, Uriah is a really good dude (i met him at a restaurant one time and he was super nice to me when we spoke for a little while) and was at his best a very good fighter that did a ton for the lower weight classes.
