@José Elias Dynasty and Dallas were canceled after the filming of their final episodes. Falcon Crest and Knots Landing knew they were ending. I think Knots had a 2 hour finale.
Yes, this was one of the best series finales for a primetime show. Too often, shows feel they have to change the status quo in the series finale. So, I don't tend to like those endings. Falcon Crest ended perfectly. The only major thing that changed was Richard and Angela getting a!ong better. Which is probably what a lot of fans wanted. And possiblly what Jane and David wanted, as well. Jane did a great job writing this end scene. It was perfect and showed a lot of depth to Angela. The final episode of Guiding Light was also pretty good. However, Reva and Josh didn't need to leav e town. They could have stayed. An example of the annoying change the status quo mindset in regards to final episodes of a show.

The show was on the bubble and they weren't sure if they would be back for another season. So the producerswrote this as a series finale in case they didn't come back, which is what actually transpired. I guess it was good thinking on their part to put a bow on it.
We gave my mother the nickname Angela Channing,she is now 93,I live with her in the capital city of Nairobi where I grew up watching Falcon Crest on a black and white TV set.
I love how Falcon Crest ended!! Not on a cliffhanger like Dallas and Dynasty. I am so glad Jane Wyman returned for the last three episodes of the show she was Falcon Crest!!!
I have many happy memories of watching falcon crest when I was younger I wasn't aloud to watch Dallas and dynasty because they were on later at night so falcon crest whitch was on at 8 .30 on a Monday night here in New zealand on tv2 was the only one super soap that I could watch with my mum and I enjoyed it somuch
Also I remember the the last episode ever of falcon crest with Angela's special speach witch was written for the episode by jane Wyman (Angela chaning) herself Saying it with melancholy in the closing moments of the final episode with sadness because I felt it was the end of a era of a great soap

When CBS was most dominant on Friday nights when you had the Duke of hazzard Dallas and falcon Crest it was worth TGIF moments but to remember falcon Crest and Jane Wyman she was the queen that cleaned her time back in the day ! They used to have Falcon Crest on AOL's In2TV. They even had the unaired pilot, the Vintage Years with Michael Swan as Richard Channing. Unfortunately, AOL discontinued that streaming service several years ago. It seems like only the first 4 seasons have been released as buyable seasons. But, don't give up hope of a full release. It took a long time for Night Court to get a full release.
It would have been great if Hulu had gotten the show. So, many great 80s shows haven't been shown in reruns in a long, long time. Instead they rerun a lot of shows from the past 20 years.
This show was still well written and directed, and had that amazing cast, all the way through the end of season 8. It jumped the shark completely when season 9 began, with the departures of Agretti, Emma and Chao-Li, and then Angela having to leave (due to Ms. Wyman's health) for all but the book ended first and last episode. That new cast didn't do it for any of us; the writing with atrocious, and the ratings plummeted. However, this final scene in the last episode was indeed a winner.

This was a good ending but what would've made it perfect would've been for the very last shot to be of the falcon, like at the end of the opening credits in earlier seasons.
With remakes or next regeneration there is always possibilities of these stories returning to begin a brand new vine to this celebrity series Falcon Crest 20 years later with shades of the past and future of uncertainty for the vineyard and a skeleton found beneath the house and a mysterious stranger with a letter from the grave the haunting begins the secrets of the land and mysterious ghosts of the past and a murder and lost wills and family is in danger of repeating history and a old photograph which spells trouble and a face from the dim and distant past shows up?

Best ever nighttime 80s ending
I have always loved music, and the remake of this series' theme song was fantastic!
At least Falcon Crest tied everything up and didn't leave us hanging like some of the soap operas of that era.
Certainly it was even almost a happy end, where the harsh business women showed how after all she always could be a beloved mother and grandmother

In UK it suddenly stopped half way through. Never saw the ending. Such a pity because it was my favourite.

This was a good ending but what would've made it perfect would've been for the very last shot to be of the falcon, like at the end of the opening credits in earlier seasons.
With remakes or next regeneration there is always possibilities of these stories returning to begin a brand new vine to this celebrity series Falcon Crest 20 years later with shades of the past and future of uncertainty for the vineyard and a skeleton found beneath the house and a mysterious stranger with a letter from the grave the haunting begins the secrets of the land and mysterious ghosts of the past and a murder and lost wills and family is in danger of repeating history and a old photograph which spells trouble and a face from the dim and distant past shows up?

That was a great ending
Douglas, the father of her children , should have been mentioned. Otherwise, this was the perfect ending to the show.
It was great that Jane Wyman returned for the last 3 episodes, even though her doctors told her not to.
Nah, Phillip and Peter were main characters. Douglas was just a recurring guest star in season 1
Gina Lollobrigida should have been seen in this. She was Angela's half sister that caused a major plot twist at the end of the 4th season.
you can´t involve everybody ... Douglas her husband is missing, Greg her lawyer for 2 seasons also - she mentioned the most important.
