Yep. I was an A7X fanboy for years but Motionless has outshined and went above and beyond my expectations since Infamous came out. No turning back! They’re my number 1
Might not listen to em as much anymore but I have listened to every album I believe. And one thing I always loved about em is that are their albums sounds completely different. I'm not a musician but for a band to constantly change but sound good with the change is just impressive to me. Not many bands can do that

Representing 570 here, local to the Scranton area; same as MiW.
To shed some light on the context of the song:
Most of North East Pennsylvania is extremely depressed in the economic sense. Allot of people are poor, wages are low, stress is high, and most would rather leave than stay. As a result, things like the local music scene are rough. It's not very large, and in many places, simply doesn't exist; the support structure isn't there. Not enough venues, practically no publishers or studios, etc. Shit, there's only three radio stations that play rock in the entirety of NEPA (Rock 107, 97.9X, The Whale). So, if you wanna be a musician here, you gotta work hard. Regardless of weather you work your way into the industry the traditional way, or if you make yourself through self production and promotion, it's gunna take allot of effort, talent, and struggle. All that's stacked on top of the enate struggles of simply being an average person living here. This is where imma get a bit anecdotal, rather than factual, but in my experience, *most* people from around here have one of *those* stories about a time they were lower than low, or how they've had to fight for literally everything. The place may not be as nutorious as, say, Flint Michigan, or downtown Detroit, but something about this area grinds on you, and it makes some hard ass people.
So to sum it up, the song is an ode to the area and those who live here, about the troubles of both life and pursuing music in NEPA. It's also about MiW being proud of making through it all and coming out at the end as one of the biggest young Metal bands in the U.S.
They come back once or twice a year and play shows in the little venues where it all started, and the crowds are insane. Packed like sardines and pumped as hell. The bands from here that end up making it like Motionless in White or Breaking Benjamin are seen as heros to allot of us.
That all being said, lemme shout-out Traverse the Abyss, Jug, Dysfathom, and Graces Downfall. Some other local bands that haven't broken through yet. Check 'em out.

@@elena79rus not sure, probably a quick Google search away but I'm lazy lol. As with most bands, I imagine they moved to the west coast since that's where all the big studios are. Although, I have some friends who've run into Chris in the crowd at local shows on complete coincidence. So maybe they're still around, just busy with touring.

Sounds like Scranton is stuck 50 years in the past. If you want out, stop smoking pot and join the military and see there's more to the world than PA. There's a whole world to explore and you can get it paid for.

This is Definitely one of my favorite songs by them. They played it live one time I saw them at Starland in NJ, and when youre a couple hours away from Scranton, that one line hits a little different. The pit that night was insane, and at 5'1 I'm elbow height lol took one under the chin as my head was coming down and bit through the side of my tongue. Its honestly one of most cherished memories. Can't wait to watch xx

As you said in the video, the area 570(Scranton) harbors a lot of negativity and is rather aesthetically conservative, so the band had a lot of determination to make it big and prove the haters wrong. In turn they have so much love for their hometown fans though! I've caught them at home a few times and its much more intimate than seeing them somewhere else.

Always represent my hometown band. Was friends with Chris back in the day before he made it big when he was just a receptionist at Mark's Tattooing in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Will always jam out to their music.
Sup Gibby. I’m from the Five Seven O. We grew up in an area where people were completely against this type of music in 06’. MIW was looked down upon when they started, but since then they’ve inspired countless bands in this state. Ultimately, they love Scranton and want to continue building their music empire worldwide.
