My favorite. I love how Chris emerges from the shadows in the slow motion rain while growling. Go back and watch that sequence. Whoever shot that video killed it.
The song is about the trials I’ve been through in my life to continue doing what I love, and the fight to be a voice for people who either feel voiceless, or really find hope in the things I have to say. “Devil’s Night”, aside from being traditionally known as the night before Halloween, is typically known for being a mass gathering of people acting with destructive and chaotic behavior. While I’m not advocating petty vandalistic crimes, useless violence or anything morally deranged, I felt the title symbolized that I’m sending a call to the masses, to put on your “paint”, your “mask”, or shed the weight you may be bearing and join us to start fighting fire with fire. I refuse to lay down and die and I know a lot of people feel the same. We’re still pissed, and we’re here to stay.”
Even tho we might believe in two different things. I understand everything your talking about. I wish people could just respect each other for what they are.

I am a Christian man as well but this is by far my favorite MIW song besides disguise. My very first concert I went to they opened for ADTR and they killed it. Since then I’ve seen them 8 times and they play this song everytime and they kill it. Makes me love the song more and more.

Dgibby I believe your interpretation is spot on. People forget that music is a way for people to express themselves and show how they feel. Chris definitely does that through his music, alot of people will take it out of context and say he's a devil worshiper, but that's how things become misconceived. We have to look at the big picture and you do a great job of breaking it down to the core. 👏

I personally am not religious, but I enjoy learning the stories and trying to interpret and understand lessons from various texts, and I think it's really amusing how people hear this heavy, harsh tone, and the dark imagery, and associate it with the devil and demons. I feel like it's extremely inaccurate. Consider this; demons are VERY manipulative. They'll lure people in with gilded tongues, and push them down a path only to stab them in the back and put a collar on them when they least expect it. They lie until they can take control. And to do that effectively, you need a smooth, alluring visage. This? This is anything but smooth and alluring to most people, and what's more, it's honest. It's real. This isn't evil. This isn't demonic at all. Y'know what it makes me think of in biblical lore?
