Elon and Sam were founders of OpenAI but Elon left due to a conflict of interest with working at Tesla. Elon has since been critical of their shift from "open source and non profit to closed source and for profit".

He spent 16 years building up Tesla to a $60B valuation. That's 832 weeks, so he's been creating about $72M of value per week.
At the same time, he's also been building up SpaceX: $33B valuation in 2019, built over 17 years (884 weeks), so about $37M of value per week.
So, between the two companies, he has generated an average of roughly $109M of shareholder value per week.
Assuming many of us generate roughly $1M of value per lifetime, just so the math is easy (most people probably don't even get close to that number), that means it would take us 109 lifetimes of work to create what Elon has averaged over the past 16-17 years.
So ya, I guess my math was off...

People would compare him to Steve jobs or Tim Cook but honestly he’s the Eddie cue and Craig federighi, of Tesla and space x. Lately I’m not sure why but I’ve grown such a huge interest in Elon. Elon Musk is just working and working, which deserves a great respect and amazement. He looked confused when was asked "How do you spend your time?" which surely supposed to mean not only job, but also fun, sport activities, hobbies and so on ^^`
there is so incredibly much deep information in this video. It's wild how much one person (or one brain we don't really understand how it works) can produce if it's fully dedicated and loves what it's doing.

Very cool dynamic to watch Sam Altman and Elon Musk talk about OpenAI in the context they are given what is now the current situation and the events that led to it. Cool portal into into the past.
I think the fact that Elon is autistic definitely gives him an edge (he has the ability to hyperfocus on what interests him), so he naturally spends a lot of time on his passion, which allows him to outwork everyone.

I do business development in my holding company, we turn over $20M a year (I do $15M of it) and funny enough I spend most of my time with the engineers doing project development with our factory. This was a massive shock watching this. By no means am I comparing myself to the level of Elon Musk, but it was interesting nether the less.

I'm interested how he puts the company together. Like how does he know or decide what departments to have etc.
I feel like many people want to know what he does exactly..the thing with innovative thinkers, they’re always exploring a new and different concept, through their craft (this case being engineering mechanical, electrical, structural etc)..this why it’s so difficult to explain to someone, you need to try and do innovative things to understand what he’s talking about..but most of us aren’t even close to being brilliant as he is, so we cant necessarily fathom the message his trying to bring across
