This scene brought me to tears the first time I saw it. Brian Regan gave an amazing performance I hope this show gets picked back up. I need to see his ending
Brian was 100% one of my favorite bits of this show. It hurt so much to see him slip again in front of his daughter, but then to care so much and see him open up like this and lashing out. His emotions are right, he just took the wrong path in lashing out at this friends. His performance in season 3 was especially powerful. Really wish it wasnt cancelled :(
I'm sober near nine years with no slip ups and usually I can watch drama or comedy on the subject without getting bent out of shape but this scene really, really turned on the waterworks for me.
Ohhhh no it got canceled??? I just stumbled on this show and binged watched all 3 seasons in a week. (I never do that).. I loved it! I never heard of it, or saw trailers.. This scene was awsome, and true to the struggle for many people. He did a really good job with the character in my opinion. I was looking forward to a new season😢.. I definitely intend to rewatch it..
The “can’t afford any more bad nights” it’s brutally relatable. You can have amazing years, but one or two bad nights can literally tear those good years to shreds and it’s all you obsess over for months. And it takes a while to stand back and look at how many more good days you’ve had than bad.
This scene is just incredible. To see a stand up comic put in a performance like this is pretty special. Massive credit to Brian Regan. Having had a couple of close friends with bad addiction issues really made this scene a whole lot more powerful.
That was an award winning performance. To be so aloof for all those episodes and then just to come out with that. Brilliant. And he was bang on for how it really is and happens.
This clip hit deep. I had a serious alcohol problem years ago and he describes the demon perfectly and that is how it feels. You have something inside you that wants to screw everything up including yourself and it is beyond your control when you say ‘fuck it’s like he did the episode before. Amazing performance and it made me realise how far I’ve come. Well done to all involved in the show.
Seen Brian Regan about six times live. Been a fan since the Opie and Anthony days. Cleanest comic EVER doesn’t swear once in his show at all. To see him curse soooo much in this show was funny AF not to mention what a GREAT actor he is. The dart in the head episode in season two was EPIC!!!!🤣🤣🤣
I didn't think Brian Regan had the skills for this kind of drama and emotion. The scene later in the episode where he has the tearful hug with Claire made me cry.
We’re f cked Unless …. we find another addict we trust And we go for it ; total , unrelenting , hundred percent honesty Every damn thing that terrifies us Shames us Enrages us Eats us alive We’re not alone
I’ve always been a fan of Brian Regan as a stand up and I thought he was perfect in this role. But damn I did not know he had this kind of performance in him. I hope he does more acting like this because he’s excellent here.
That’s part of why it was so effective for me. The fact that he rarely curses or yells makes it that much more painful when he does. That’s what this show does brilliantly, it makes you feel like you’re part of the group.
One of the Farrely brothers said in a interview ''we we're happy to habe Brian in the show because he is one of the if not the greatest stand up in the world. But we knew he couldn't act and now, we can say that we know we were wrong!''
@@LungteNangram was reading a story from last month where Peter Farrelly has a lot of confidence that there will be a season 4. He says probably two more seasons. Let’s hope! From writing to acting; this show is gold.
Mugsy has a point about quitting the group. AA and rehab isn't the only way to quit drinking but it's often looked at as such. I went to AA when I was first quitting and I didn't find it helpful at all. Instead I've done my own thing and have 8 years under my belt now. I can honestly say I have no craving for alcohol because my life is so much more interesting and better without it. My best bit of advice, analyze your friends. If all you have in common with them is drinking then be ok with not being friends with them anymore. They will weight you down and may even try to sabotage your progress. Good luck to anyone trying to kick the sauce regradless of what method you're using.
I swear, as silly as this show was my heart broke when he slipped on his daughter’s big day after he finally took some steps to heal their relationship. Painful. Even though it’s fiction I was actually relieved to see him return back to the group before the series was forced into ending.
Best part of the series. The best capture of what it feels like to be swallowed in addiction. I was in tears 😭
"I can't afford any more bad nights" such a terribile realistic moment.

This scene made me cry. I'm not an alcoholic but I have frustrations like this.
The demon quote really stood out to me.
@@richardtriolo438316 months sober tomorrow for me and this scene absolutely tore me up.

That is such an authentic and heart-wrenching performance, amazing.
Yes and the fact that he never acted before.
@@LungteNangram Seriously!? That's insane. His acting here is superb!

I can't remember which actor or director said that it's not uncommon for a comic to have amazing dramatic chops but that the reverse is more rare.

Add this to my list of top 10 favorite acting scenes of all time. This was moving. Bravo!!!!

Just coming out of relapse and I relate to this too much. Literally can't afford anymore screws ups but apart of me wants to give up.
Hope you'll get through this soon and live better. Don't give up.

Two of my faves - Regan and Will Sasso.
First time I've ever heard Regan swear. Such a departure from his standup.

Let's hope for season 4 and more of mugsy
