- Drill test of my 1950s or early 60s STH-10 before a complete restoration. for now its a loud vegetable cutter
Just replaced the bearings, still need to be broken in as you can hear of the faster coast than usual,
this is the 3-phase model Y(double wYe for 240) configuration for either 220 or 480V, 10HP with 3400RPMs
motor windings are still good, none are shorted to ground and enamel coating looks fresh, so it tells me the motor is ready for power.

People just use engines and just do that! In sirens like the 3t22 you can sometimes see it.
Well Then you have to face with cops because using an engine will make is sound like the real siren but then it disrupt the Town/City so I say No

revsta chopper, rotor, impeller, same thing although technically it’s in impeller since it’s a centrifugal air pump but it’s well known for being the chopper

I have an old STH 10 at my village’s civic center is it possible to refurbish this siren and get it working like it used to??
When did the thing actually break because the siren is really old in this and I'm wondering will you do more tornado siren wind up with the air hose
XxMegatronicDestroyer48GammingxX Legendary It did not break, ready for power, 3 phase power is not easy to get, Just because it’s old does not mean it’s broken and unfortunately I did not do progress on it so I did not make any new videos on the siren

@@NickSilcox3 Sirens break when something's wrong and then they take to the Scrap yard with the other broken sirens that's why I was questioning why the thing was a broken siren because The STH 10 doesn't have it's horns that makes the siren radius longer when it was fired up and blasting and the rust makes it look older so good job on that and next video should be on the Alertor 125 because there are broken ones In the scrap yard
XxMegatronicDestroyer48GammingxX Legendary I took everything off, the only thing that broke are bolts and they’re easy to remove. I have all the parts and bolts are common sizes at the hardware store

yep! the firehouse closed down, it was working when removed but its desperate for a restoration

Nice! I got a 1950's Model 2 a few weeks ago I'm working on getting fixed up.
i have a 1926 model 2 as well, they are great sirens, theyre little, light (compared to other sirens) powerful and they pack a mean! punch lol

How much do these weigh compared to a model 5?
i dont know i dont have a model 5
This maybe too late of a response but according to the manual, the 3 phase STH-10 is around 370 pounds while a Model 5 which is strangely heavier goes up around 400 pounds.
What color will you repaint it?

I like gray. It suits the STH-10 pretty well
HuskyTech I agree with you I think gray is perfect for the sth 10, should I also paint the impeller? It'll have to get rebalanced after I sandblast it anyway

@@NickSilcox3 OK but was the STH 10 Been Broken and taken to the scrap yard because they have a junk yard full of tornado sirens and even a few new one's so Isn't that where that came from also I like the Vid
