Thanks for doing this tutorial. I was super helpful. I even created a file of just the square grid which I can use when doing larger than mat projects as a starting place/ template (and then I just save my new projects as a unique file so I keep my template file).

I loved cricut initially because as a newbie the cartridges made it easier for me to be creative but then as i got experienced it now makes its hard for me to be creative...lol but I'm already 150 cartridges invested. Im waiting for the Cameo 4 Pro to come out. Thank you so much for this awesome tutorial.
I know it's not super helpful for the Cricut tutorial, but in the Silhouette Software, if you have the designer edition; all you have to do it make your image as large as you want and then select "Tiling" and it automatically separates it for you onto different mats and into pieces and all you have to do is cut it out. And, as someone else posted you can select all the white pieces and choose to "Ungroup" and so on. It is a MUCH easier process. I actually make super large black images for all of our windows for Halloween and they are quite large to fill up the window. Cricut Design Space is the reason I rarely use my Cricut. I hate it. It's awful.
@lori Archuleta do you need a curtain type of printer to use the Silhouette software. Because I am trying to make life size cardboard animals for my daughters 4th birthday this year.

Wow that's a lot of work. With the Silhouette Cameo all you have to do us select the image and un group it. The you have all your separate part instantly with one click. Was thinking about getting a Cricut but having second thoughts now.

Corinne, love your videos. Have you considered (when working on a larger than mat project) to duplicate colors by sections and then contour? It may be a lot of duplication, but gives full sections/pieces that will fit on a mat. If needed, larger sections can then be sliced.

So your 11" squares don't overlap any when you are cutting the sections of the large piece? It seems like overlapping the same amount on each part (like approx 1/2 inch) would help with the taping, but I haven't done this before. Thanks!
I really enjoyed watching! Learned a lot! My husband had a she-shed built for me, it has a full glass front door. My dream is to do this with my Bitmoji, looking out the door welcoming my friends and family in to join me! Now my question is, Is it possible to have this 2 sided? So I came enjoy the full picture on both inside and outside of the door. Never ever did this before, as a matter of fact I am new at this whole Cricut world thing. But willing and excited to try!
Not sure if it May be helpful but it's something I do that helps me ; You can just screenshot the screen just in case you do move the pieces you won't have to worry about forgetting where they go

@@debbushee6970 as shown in the video the cardstock is all cut down the create the design including the black layer which is the back. The sheets are 12x12 sheets or 8.5x11 sheets of cardstock it’s all then pieces together with tape

Absolutely. It would just mean more pieces but yes you could make it for the most part as big as you want. I mean going like 25 feet would be crazy but it could be done :)

Hey "booty" is upside down! that's why the body portion doesn't look right. the more rounded curve should be at the bottom. I see you fixed it in the end, but just in case anyone else is trying to figure out how you got the "square peg to fit into the round hole"
I’ve been trying to connect my Mac and my chrome book to the cruitcut but for some reason my machine does not want to connect on either. Frustrating I have to do everything in my phone and I dint get the exact format as you do in you desk top
The chromebook is not really compatible with the cricut. You can use the app but that’s it. As for the max make sure your Bluetooth is on and you are using the latest operating system.
Can you do this if your image doesn't have the solid background piece? I ungrouped this image and it doesn't! Ugh! Thanks for the tutorial! Do you attach the finished piece to a thicker surface for standing?

The cricut has specific cut limitations. It can only cut at its largest for anything but the explore 3 and maker 3 23.5x11.5 inches there for you have to slice the design to fit within the cricut machine limitations.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. but I'm having an issue. not sure if I'm doing something wrong, please help. the file i have is an SVG. I Ungroup my images and moved them away, followed step by step. but when i was trying to click on the square and click the black solid image my slice was grayed out. i kept trying to click back the square then the black image and nothing. what can i be possibly doing wrong.?
I have a question, and sorry if it don't make sense i'm still learning. The image you cut was already an svg, but how would you do it for an image you found on google. I need to make a TMNT character for my son's birthday but not finding an svg file I like, however I did find one on google. Any help would be appreciated.
I liked how you can easily take the layers apart. I have the silhouette cameo and I don’t believe it has that capability with the basic software I have. I did figure out how to do this with the silhouette but it was a bit harder.
I would certainly do it that way. It would require fewer pcs. Also, no need for positioning background pcs one by one. Select first two, copy and position them together. I see lots of room for being more efficient here.
I have been following along with you as you are going. I understand why and how you are doing different steps but when it came to "Slicing" the box away from Marie, that complete bottom with the commands in it Slice, Weld, Attach, Flatten, Contour is not highlighted so I can choose Slice. I zoomed in on my image so I can see if it would then allow me and it doesn't. Can you please help? It is so easy to follow along with you and think you are a excellent teacher.
@@CorinneBlackstone I started at the top left square we added, I made sure the square was where my pointer was and it also showed up in the boxes on the right hand side. Nothing!

this is ungrouped by color but not by each tiny piece. I don't know if the silhouette does each piece but yes Cricut has its downfalls.

You can make larger cuts with 12x12 paper yes. You only need to slice if the piece won’t fit on your paper

you do not want over lap because it will be VERY obvious if you have overlap. You want as smooth a finish as possible.

You just cut one regular and duplicate and mirror the other one :)

It’s all done with cardstock and it’s just the blade that comes with the machine the premium fine point blade

You could but it wouldn't really be a great idea unless you have to make something bigger than 23.5x11.5

You are selecting too many things at once. You can only select two lines on the layers panel when you slice

Yes it must have layers and technically you need an SVG but I have videos showing how to make your own

You would need a soild back. Just duplicate the whole image and weld. That will make you a solid piece to stick it to

There is no website for Cricut. For a desktop or laptop computer you need to download the software from design.cricut.com

You have to be sure you have items selected for those commands to show up.you also can only select two things to use slice
