Scanning is better because old photo stock have a sheen that produces too much glare when you take a picture because of the way the paper curves and the light lands on it unevenly. A scan keeps the paper flat and distributes the light more evenly. So the digital image of the photo is more vivid.
We are the last generetion which have boxes and albums of photos printed on paper. This generation have more digital photos, but they're stock on computers. And lots of photos are gone with hard drives crashes. This is sad. Family pictures are a proof of our existence, our happiness, our achievements, important days and important peoples. It's always fun (with a little nostalgia) to go back in time to happy days of our childhood. Thanks, Ivan, for sharing.

As I get older I feel im forgetting details of my experiences. So I rely on my photos.. and because of that I take many photos. With the advent of digital cameras and ever cheaper storage sources, it's easy to accumulate thousands of photos. I love it and will one day enjoy viewing them. Ivan.. get well, buddy. One of my best childhood memorie is when I ran around on the parkinglot to the movie theater chasing my friends all exited after having seen A New Hope at its premiere 1977 !!!

I've lost both of my parents at this point (I'm 47) and pictures bring a lot of memories and emotions flooding back when it comes to them. Enjoy your time with your mom, Ivan. All the many years of school pictures that were taken, the larger package is purchased so all our relatives could get a copy of our latest picture.

I can only imagine all the happines and joy she and your abuelito experienced on those picture with you - from the moment of planning the activities, to getting everything necessary, to working hard to make these memories for you. One of my favorite childhood memories is my dad picking me and my brother up in his squad car and taking us to the theater to watch Empire Strikes Back. He bought the tickets and took us into the theater and then came back a couple of hours later and took us home. Got to watch it almost twice in a row that day. The look on people’s faces watching a cop escort two young boys into the theater was priceless.
Your mom did good, she'd be proud of you, and she'd yell at you for saying you're ugly, where ever or who ever told you that was an ass and you should not believe such lies. Those that fall in our lives are supposed to give us strength, we continue where they leave off
I don’t have pictures. My family blew apart at 10 my Mom destroyed them outta spite. I have a few found memories prior but after I got a major negative mindset. So until my 30s I was a broken individual who just escaped all day long into tv, books, video games. Work. It’s taken awhile but I’m ready to try living again. Ironically these feminist ruined all my escapes so new escape isn’t feasible and older ones now seem tainted. Like Star Wars and Star Trek. Meh. They did me a favor though, they brought what news trying to escape into my fantasy worlds. I quit my jobs, tossed all my stuff and am now roaming around like a migrant. I’ll never go back. To working hard , paying taxes and volunteering. As there’s no numbing escape as a reward at the end of the day. Just leftist hate filled propaganda. Jokes on them I ain’t paying their way anymore with my labor and taxes.
