Hi mate you are the best artistic i ever see a long time yes have a lot artistic very good yes i like foto realism obe drawing but the art is not so that fotorealism drawing but the art being that And i like you and your art is that your soul and i like that i love you your portraits art and inspire me so lot . Sorry the bad ingles 😊 ❤❤❤
Just love your videos for one reason..u create chaos first with the layout, then start constructing an image out of it when my mind starts telling me- oh no this is messed up..
hi i have a question, first of all before asking the question, i wanted to say that this approach is for the people who have really high level of patience and can see figures or maybe even final work and sometimes even for them it may get exaggerating (because i go with this approach with most of the time and yes i fall in that exaggeration trap). now the question is wouldn't you recommend vine charcoal in stead of compressed for this approach?
@@vivekchoudhary8745 very soft compressed charcoal and vine charcoal both work well. There are some trade off. Vine charcoal is a bit too touch sensitive. One accidental smudge and the drawing is messed up. Compressed charcoal is more resilient but also takes more work to lift. I encourage people to try both and see which works for them the best.
Damn. It was hell scary at the first moments of the video. It looked like a ghost or witch or something. Then same hell of a beautiful piece in the end. I think the title should be "FROM SCARY TO BEAUTY" hehe
How you chose your portraits how much you analyse...and determine where to start from and with which technique....plzz and do a proportions video how you get it absolutely correct all the time...you use black n white subjects or coloured...
how do u erase that good for hair?? i also use kneaded eraser of Faber castle for my sketch but it dont work that good. BTW i also use charcoal pencil of faber castle which is little cheap. plzz help!!
Brother. No doubt that's awesome. But it's really too quick to understand sometimes how and what you do in it. I mean how you smudge and put gradients. Detailing part. Please. Make it little slower. And let me know what kind of pencils and erasers do you use for making such marvelous portraits. Love from India
Hi Abhishek you are right in that it is too quick to fully teach someone.. and it is not meant to be a full tutorial. Please understand I'm not an RUclips employee and all videos are made with my own free time. ruclips.net/video/lNpEJ6UuCLU/видео.html As for tools, I have a video in my channel on what tools I use. thanks for watching.
ThePortraitArt I really appreciate what you're doing but please give it a thought. if you're watching these videos without being able to extract something useful out of them then does it really make any sense to you? I suppose you would understand. Anyway great job once again. You usually don't find such marvelous artistic characters in this technological era.
Sorry but I can´t agree. This is one of the hardest ways to start a portrait, especially if you are an beginner, cause it´s an abstract way. To start dark and light up from time to time is more difficult than to start light and dark up.
Thanks Luisa for your comment. Tho I'm not sure which part you are disagreeing with? Since the word easy or anything directly relating to difficulty is no where used?
Compressed charcoal are difficult to erase on paper but you do it easily whats the reason the same medium i use but it leaves the mark but yours doesnt...
where do get you're reference? and did anyone ask you to make a portrait and gave you a very over touched pictures where their is lighting all around and no shadow at all.? and can you please do a video on that.. thanks..
as a beginner I exactly can't understand how you do it ,i.e. making shadows , make the face clean and so on . I think you don't want to teach us how to draw .
I just hate than this fucking world dont respect Enough to art .. Its really hard to tell people How much Work u have to do than u learn things(like Realistic drawing or another stuff)
Leave your comments and questions and they might be addressed in my next FAQ video. Thanks guys
ThePortraitArt it is compressed charcoal isn't it? It is hard to blend for me comparison to vine charcoal, any comments on this?
How long does it take to develop such great skills? BTW, your videos are awesome, thanks for sharing!

Do you use some special eraser for adding white upon charcoal... I always have to go other way round defining whites first and then adding black..
Never thought I would like charcoal until I saw your videos. Now I'm in love with it, thank you so much!
Beautiful work! I love the transition between the "under paint/drawing" to the detailed.

I love how you gave her smiling eyes at around the 4 minute mark.
ya, tweaking of both the eyes, and mouth is required to make that work. good observation Dan.
I draw the old way. Start with pencils and build.
You carve a face out of the dark charcoal.

vine charcoal can be more easily accidentally smudged. But you can potentially use it, just gotta be more careful.
@@ThePortraitArt thank you so much for the advice.. 💜💚
