In a sea of people trying to be the loudest and get the most attention it is such a refreshing and beautiful thing to see my ABSOLUTE favourite RUclipsr just sit down on her floor and show her beautiful heart and some REAL emotion! I think it would be really cool to have a lot of makeup like that and go to a place like Cancer Treatments of America with a huge train case, give makeovers to patients, let them keep the makeup you use, and video the entire thing. Making women feel beautiful. That is what it's all about.

Melody Worley That is a great idea! The only question is whether or not they would accept used makeup. The immune systems of patients going through chemo is so fragile that you have to go through extreme measure for disinfecting everything around you. Unfortunately, I know this from experience. Even some of the homeless shelters will not take used makeup ( I have tried to donate disinfected powder products) because of liability. Cheers!

Sarah Smith I actually like watching declutters to figure out what to buy. So many youtubers give a good first impression review but then they never touch it again, so I like watching declutters to figure out which products people use again and again.
Also, Jessica your genuineness and vulnerability at the beginning of the video was so touching. You're my favorite beauty youtuber because of how real you are.
I just wanted to say I'm super glad that you addressed what I've been feeling about your channel for a while now. I couldn't put my finger on what changed but I knew I wasn't as excited about watching them. I am not trying to be mean, but I have noticed the difference you are talking about. I don't think you have changed who you are as a person. Not at all. But it's just different. I wouldn't unsubscribe to your channel, not at all. It's not that big of a change. I do believe you are as honest with us as you were on day one. I feel though that now there is a shinier polish to your channel and while that isn't a bad thing, I feel a little more removed from the connectedness I felt before. I feel like you really brought a good chunk of it back with this video. It felt more real and more like the Jess that I have LOVED watching. Your purse declutter with the blue bag where you used the eyeglass case as miscellany holder is my all time favorite! You cracked me up on that one! I feel like around the time you started getting Stitch Fix is when I felt the pull away. Please know I do love your channel and your content. You have really worked hard to bring great content and I have so much respect for that, even more so given this isn't your day job. I hope you are able to see and feel the spirit in which I am leaving this comment. It not normally my style to say this kind of thing but since you addressed it I wanted to give you feedback. I do wish you all the best and I look forward to more reviews and declutters. P.S. if you do a battle of the reds can you test out one of the Revlon colorstays? I would love to see how it stacks up. I know cover girl and maybelline have their own too, but I live how long the color stay stays.
+onewithbooks this comment made perfect sense to me. I've felt the need to filter what I say a lot more to appeal to a wider audience but I think I'm doing that, it takes away the "me" part of the videos. Definitely heading back to the more unfiltered ME :)

Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 oh wow. I'm really honored. Also kicking myself for not having Snapchat. I do now though! :) lol. It's not easy doing what you do. You put you out there and you hope folks like it. No one wants to fail. People want to have a channel they are proud of and they want to deliver what folks want to see. It's a hard balance to be you and be what your viewers want. Plus you have a third angle - you watch other RUclipsrs. I can see how the two views can help mask your own voice. I can see how after a while bringing videos your viewers want and staying current can unintentionally drive the direction of your channel and after a while you can see your roots in the distance. Bravo for taking the detour because it takes guts. Just like it took a lot of guts to do your PR unboxing video. I admired it. It was different. You aren't like a lot of RUclipsrs and you aren't afraid to say "Get it together Jess! " and leave it in the video. That genuineness never fails to make me laugh and makes me feel like you are that girl your viewers would have a coffee with. I am excited to see your next video and to see you grow and be different and be you.

I love that you can truly declutter! You're honest with yourself in that if you haven't worn it in a while, chances are you won't again and you move along. In so many declutter videos people are like "yeah I'm cutthroat", but then they hold on to everrryyything, and find a justification for it, which only puts justifications in my own head. You're actually truly motivating!

As an idea, when you do get whole collections (or any PR really) that you just know your never going to get around to, consider passing them on to smaller youtubers who wouldn't get PR and are still at that stage of having to buy all their products to make content. That way the brands still get some PR out of it even if it's not who they actually targeted and you will be helping someone build their channel.

I would literally take all the purple & blue & grey & crazy colored ones you'd get rid of, I love those lipsticks! I can never find brands that have really good pigmented versions of those colors either lol.
I just did this recently & threw out so many old lipsticks I forgot I had & makeup products. Felt SO good after lol.

Could I also suggest that you might send some of the unopened samples to shelters for women, such as domestic violence survivors? I kept thinking of the crate of lipsticks that were accidentally shipped to Bergen Belsen as part of its liberation, and the psychological power of 'warpaint' that survivors recalled. But keep doing what you're doing, and trust your judgement, thanks x

I just did a foundation declutter on my channel. It's just a baby channel right now with literally 8 subscribers lol but it still has some declutter videos. I filmed my lipstick declutter two days ago and it'll be up Tuesday. I had so much I had to break it down into 2 parts 😂.
