Not quite as visually “entertaining “ as some of the explosion demolition videos but very satisfying intellectually. I have watched Mammoet heavy-lift work in person and on line - always impressive.
While I agree it was a job well done. And a good example of Dutch engineering. I Would be interesting to see a lessons learned vid. Seeing the work up close (I live in Vianen) I know some of the stuff that went wrong. It was sad to see her go and we will miss “our” bridge, but after being neglected for so long there was no other choice than to remove her. Congrats to the workers, you can be proud of such a achievement.
Did the designers of the bridge think about how you might demolish it when they built it? Mammoet did a great job here, but I’m now wondering if they are going to have to continue expanding their team as more and more steel bridges reach the end of their lifespans.
@@ghostdevill What I mean is, I think we’ve been building more and more bridges like this over the last 50+ years. So, the number needing to be replaced every month will keep going up until there isn’t enough time for their current staff to do them all.
Bridge was rebuild after being destroyed in the second world war. And no the people building it would have build it to last. Not to be removed after some time. Without the lack of maintenance she endured she would have been here for us to use for many years to come.
This bridge was replaced to solve a capacity problem in the A2 highway. I do not think the state of this particular bridge was the trigger to replace it.
@@nielsdebakker3283 Makes sense. I still do think that the problem I’m talking about will *eventually* happen, even if it hasn’t started to happen yet. If we are building bridges that require specialized teams to replace, won’t we eventually need a lot of people?
I always thought this bridge could be used to extend the tram line from Nieuwegein Zuid to Vianen. It would have been great and relatively cheap to realize with the bridge already in place. Missed opportunity, if you ask me.
Perhaps when it be nice to Stage Bridges throughout the United States maybe using some of the bridges are being taken down like this example who made being used as a temporary Bridge somewhere during Black Swan event is this crazy.
Thank you Mammoet for the inspirational heavy work. You have lifted my spirits...
So glad! Thanks for your kind words

Very well done indeed. Was there a single driver for this approach, or did the separate advantages add up?

No they did not think about that. And why expand your team? If you have one team that,s capable of doing things not many others have done?

The bridge was to old and to weak for heavy Traffic. That’s the reason why they removed it.

when there is enough money , so much is possible
Amazing 💪
Incrível 👍👍😎
Wonder if this company will be removing the bridge to let Bezos Yacht make it to sea.
🇷🇺спасибо.. Познавательное видео. Есть чему поучиться. Синхронизация подъёма. Управление балластом баржи. Синхронное управление швартовыми лебёдками.
