- Catching, cleaning and cooking an octopus! The locals are probably laughing at us because they catch bigger octopus all the time, but we were really happy with a tako this size! They are way harder to catch than it looks. You can be holding their tentacle tightly one moment and in an instant, they shrink that tentacle to the width of a pencil and slip away!
I'm not really sure what I think about that recipe. The octopus was super tender which was a victory and the wasabi and soy tasted amazing, but the flavor of the octopus was only average. I think next time I am going to put a lot more of each seasoning in the water and I bet that makes it perfect!

I used to go diving and hunting with my dad and he taught we when I was really young cause he was Master Scuba Instructor and he put me thru hell since I was 10 but nowadays I would love to go back and just be side by side with him and spear fishing again.
After he had passed when I was 12 I never got to go diving hardly again because I just didn't like the feeling not having him beside me or near me when diving. I almost drowned when I was about 6 and after that he made himself teach me every single thing bout swimming for 4 years and after that we got into scuba and free diving.
Watching this makes me feel so sad and heart warmth and the same time because I can see the reflection of me and my dad swimming.

I'm going vegetarian soon and I just want to say thank you so much for being humane and gentle with these animals. Thank you for using all the parts, carefully putting back the ones you didn't want, killing the fish quickly and not letting it suffer, and thank you for sharing this knowledge with all of us. This video has been recommended to me nonstop and I really didn't want to watch it because I love octopuses. But, I'm glad I did. You were respectful and I got to learn something new. Also, it was nice to see the octopus get to have a nice last meal.

Octopus actually collect shiny things that they find on the bottom of the sea,and they decorate their holes (homes) with shells and also lead weights, thats why you found so many sinkers in one place! 😀 that was definitely a octopus home 😀

Though there are many reasons that Squidward could be a squid, like how he has 6 legs like a squid and not 8 like an octopus, the research says Stephen has actually announced that Squiddy was an octopus. Tako (octopus) is my favorite! Many people are against eating them, but honestly, they have been eaten for thousands of years and are traditional Hawaiian cuisine. To the haters... this man dove for it... not just dove, he freedove (on a single breath of air). He did not buy this from a farm. Octopus do not take long to reach reproductive maturity, so this was 100% sustainable and I would have been honored to share in such a feast! Great job man! Keep the great vids rolling!

I live in Hawaii and I’ve never gone snorkeling. What is wrong with me. There’s nothing better than snorkeling and catching your food then being satisfied after cooking and eating it.
Locals hardly ever do the typical touristy things in their area. I lived near Toronto for years but have never gone to the CN Tower myself. Not quite snorkelling but it’s a big thing tourists like to do

I don't like both. Octopus is really intelligent, eating it for me is comparable to eating dog. And it's worth to say I'm not vegetarian. I just think that as humans we can just don't eat some more clever animals and that won't hurt us, as well we can don't eat baby animals. That will have good impact on economy and we will be morally cleaner. There's plenty animals to eat beside octo-guy's.

Great catch! A tip from locals I learned when I started diving is once you grab the tako(octopus), you shake it to disorient it, that way it won’t bite or dip out
It’s frustrating to have it slip away or even grab onto your face and pull your goggles to freak you out hahaha
