Your mom gotta be so proud of you. Her baby that was once doodoo'ing in his diapers is now a pilot flying her around in a jet. Life is wild. This is living.
It's just a little more stressful with Mom in the cockpit. A fine balance between letting her continue to share her story, while listing for important ATC calls, looking for traffic, and remaining mentally ahead of the aircraft. Great job!

You had me at airplanes and dogs... One of your best especially watching your mother beam with pride. I love the fact that she is interested in finding new homes for senior dogs.
Another great video! I get that it's primarily an aviation video, but would love to have seen a little video of the dog rescue group at the other end. We actually bought our first dog at the "fancy" place she mentioned (Le Chien) when we lived in NYC before coming to our senses and graduating to rescue dogs. Now in SoCal and have flown around 23 dogs with a similar rescue group that focuses on older and medical issue shelter dogs. Unfortunately still at the SR-22 stage, the M2 is still a ways off...

KPWM, my home base. I've been fortunate enough to get a bunch of PALS flights in an E50P from here in KPWM and had flights into your home base of KHPN. Great experience for a Cessna 172 driver like myself. The harbor visual takes you right by Two-Lights, Ft. Williams and Portland Headlight, Ram Island Light, Ft Gorges, our 1858 built fort used to defend against German U-Boats but never once fired a shot....Spring Point Light and Bug Light. Great approach ! Great cause your mom is involved in. My daughter, sister and mom-in-law all volunteer at the Greater Portland Animal Shelter and they care for those same type of dogs your mom speaks of.The videos were a great watch !

CitationMom. That’s so cool. Her charity work for dogs is also cool. My dog came from a shelter too, Shenton Park Dogs’ Home in Perth, Western Australia. A great place staffed by devoted people who will look after the dogs for their whole lives if they don’t find a forever home. They had rescued him from a dog pound. At first, he was pretty bad; biting me. I had bleeding hands and whatnot but after using everything I’d learnt from Cesar Millan’s shows, after about 6 months he became an angel and has stayed that way ever since. The best friend I ever had.
Richard, that is incredible. Good for you for first rescuing but also sticking through the ups and downs and training. Dogs are 100% a mans best friend! Unconditional love.

Loved hearing the stories about the dogs, as I am a big dog lover as well. Had 6 at one time all rescues and strays, which by the way makes some of the best dogs to have.
On behalf of my late pooches Moses, Inga, Charlie, Poohbear, Quincy and Victor, If I ever had them on 2 RF you would be over gross weight as they were all pretty big dogs. Thanks for the nice ride and beautiful views . Safe flying Max keep up the great videos I sure appreciate them.

I'm a plane nut and love watching in the cockpit videos. You came up on recommended and so I checked it out. Probably the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Also the proud father of three rescues and a "hey mister, you want a puppy" dog. So tonight was an awesome night for me. Your mom is great and thank her for what she is doing. Rescues struggle so much to do what they do. Look forward to part 2!

It's going to take a few good drinks to convince my mom as well as mother-in-law to get in a small plane with me. They don't like to fly but I am convinced that I will be able to eventually warm them up to it. It's always awesome to take relatives up in the air to share your passion with. Your mom must be so proud of you.

We tend to view our entire flight on the bias of our landings and in this trip, nailed it, Perfect. Landed wheels down right at the 1000 yard markers. Enjoyed the flight and all the best to the family. Cheers!!

During this flight, I was thinking “Max is truly living the dream, right here, right now.” I’ve bern a pilot for over 25 years and just lost my dad. He was my first passenger, after I got my private long ago and we did everything together. So cherish those times my friend, they are priceless ! Awesome video, Max. Your relationship with your mother is a a nice refresher. Portland is a beautiful town, now I want to visit! PS: If you bump the trim, you should get an AP disconnect that will leave the YD on, and then press the AP/YD disconnect to get rid of the yaw damper so you don't have to reach up.
