@Tackerful A rogue used Saronite Bombs which apparently made the room extend and get larger. The adds would pick raid members up and fly to the cliff to drop them to their deaths. However, since the room got bigger, they never made it, so they didn't dps any of the adds, they just focused on Arthas. This is exploiting, which is bannable. Each raid member got a 3 day suspension. The reason why I find Ensidia guilty, is that Kungen quotes "We noticed the glitch after a few attempts. Call Blizz?
The ban was because the rogues (even though they know Blizzard watches them do their raids) were using saronite bombs. They discovered a bug that they decided to continue using, when they threw the bombs, it restored the platform of The Frozen Throne, the edge that breaks off during the encounter. The reason being it's bannable is because the Valk'yr are supposed to throw your players off the edge if you don't kill them. This way, they didnt fall off the Frozen Throne.
@12nutty34 The use of the "1k dps" bombs by their rogues caused the platform's edge to NOT despawn. Meaning the valkyrs in Phase 2 could be completely ignored.
They werent banned for the damage the saronite bombs noobs, they were banned for abusing a bug with the bombs causing vehicle damage, allowing the platform they were standing on that fell down to come up again, a bug that was later on fixed.
Im not 100% sure but Saronite Bombs used to stun a target in place for x amount of time, so what they did was use the Saronite Bombs on Valkerys and they where stunned the whole time so they got banned
What I think is hilarious is that everyone complaining about Ensidia has never killed Lich King pre 30% and have probably not completed more then 4/12 heroic modes. Ensidia used saronite bombs which were in their rogues rotation, becasue I highly doubt Ensidia was like "ok lets randomly throw a sarnoite bomb and see if we can find and exploit"LK wasent even in beta testing so it was totally a designers fault. Ensidia probably thought that the platform was supposed to reform becasue NO ONE KNEW
@12nutty34 If the bomb REBUILDS the platform, so you can not be dropped off the platform. That makes it so you can ignore valkyrs and just dps boss ( xpect for few seconds for the guys throwing the bombs ). They propably first found out about the bombs rebuilding the platform when one valkyr was near the edge and someone used bomb there.
there was nothing saying that usage of saronite bombs was forbidden at lich king but now if it is they should have been told and one thing the only cheats for wow are hacks which almost equals insta-ban whilst exploits are either warning or ban
@GOllumboy101 That makes phase 2.5 extremely easy because all you have to worry about is getting Defile to go off away from the raid and ignore the Valkyrs.

Blizzard did not Ban Ensidia for using Saronite Bomb ability, they banned them because Ensidia knew and also have admited in their website that the Saronite Bomb was causing the glitch to occur.
criterri, ensidia did not get banned for finding it. they got banned because once they found it, they began intentionally using it. no ban would have come were it not that fact
lol ENSIDIA PURPOSELY EXPLOITED ONCE. on the LK they didn't know what the saronite bombs were doing until it happened, and that makes it blizzard's fault. Ensidia should have had the LK world first. I completely acknowledge that they used a exploit in the Yogg-Saron encounter of Ulduar on purpose, but in my opinion the one on the LK was ALL BLIZZARD'S FAULT!
The bombs only did this to this boss... It's not their fault that Blizzard can't test a patch before it comes out and let the real patch testers ( Ensidia ) find the exploits and get banned for it. Ensidia has been finding almost all of the bugs because they were the first ones to fight the bosses. They get banned for using something a rogue uses to increase his DPS every fight? I love the games that Blizzard makes but banning people finding the exploit, was a very unprofessional thing to do.
The fact that ensidia had the first kill on the first day I dont see how they can have knew that the exploited the boss fight in anyway, maybe they knew and so what? that they find out a flaw like that in the first fucking day makes them pro as well, so stop wining about it!
But even if they asked a GM if it was ok Blizzard doesn't give a shit, Athene asked a GM if it was ok to mob tag to get to 80 first and the GM said yes... after 14 hours when he was about to ding a GM came in and banned them after an other one had said it was fine, Blizzard can do what they want and change what they say to their liking, and you can't fuck with them on that point...
wow i can't believe some people actually hold ensidia accountable for something like that. you'd think, as they probably did, that for THE MAIN BOSS OF THE WHOLE EXPANSION it wouldn't be a glitchy, un-tested, screwed up encounter. The fight isn't the easiest around, they found something that made it a little easier and went with it, would anyone else have done differently?

But as soon as we accepted the terms and conditions they can just rofl around as much as they want, if you read it, it pretty much says that blizzard can take your character and make it to a lvl 1 critter if they feel like it.
@12nutty34 the bombs damage wasn't the problem, the problem was that the bombs repaired the Platform so they didn't have to kill val'kyrs. so get your facts straight.
@videogamer4life360 dps= damage per second as in it deals 1k damage every second. well you could say that he did damage the boss for only one second and thus the item beeing a 1kdps. but the fact that its used as a rotations filler and added 1k damage in the rotation every 1 min of a fight that would, at the time, prolly take 10-15 mins + the rp part etc. aka 1k*10-15 times during the fight/600-900seconds= the average dps of this item during the fight?
@12nutty34 because its not the bomb.. but what the seige damage does.. it rebuilds the platform. eg.. .. the use of bombs. made the platforms.. come back to full hp.. no need to be worried about valkyiers taking your players off the platform. because the place they drop the players is now built.. so they can skip attacking valkyier.. and.. dps arthas down.. that is all.
@rewon4 they restored the platform, which would normally not be there in the encounter at the time used.... meaning even if u didnt kill the valkyrs , u wouldnt loose ur players....

@12nutty34 Blizzard had a hardcore fail with bombs used for dps - they do siedge damage and somehow cause some triggers proc when it shouldn't. WioW PvE became nothing two years ago. Deal with it.

No. However a ban and removal of a world first kill because blizzard screwed up in testing is uncalled for. They could of at least given a warning first.

Okay. Ensidia cheated. It's fairly obvious that a piece of the map shouldn't keep appearing out of nowhere after it has gone away. For the people telling Blizzard to learn to code or that it is a game mechanic and therefore Blizzards fault, need to code a full boss encounter in such a complex game such as World of Warcraft. Coding is hard. While I agree that the ban was harsh, it was their own fault for being cheating. Newsflash people! Blizzard watches all world-first raids! QQ

there is no way to know if ensida did it or not!if they did cheat knowingly then they should have been peradently banned.if not then they shouldnt have been banned at all and just got their acheivments and loot removed.the reason the loot and acheivments still should have gotten removed is because knowingly or not...it was still unfair to still give it too them.

Insidia downed the lich king on the first try, how did they know it was an exploit? It's part of the rogues rotation it gives about 50 dps.

no details on the fight were released, so how were they supposed to know that the fight was supposed to work differently
