I only learned today that you can sleep in one of the coffins in Neclord's Castle and replenish your HP and spells. I've beaten the game a dozen times, how did this pass me by? But here I am, over a decade after it was released, still learning new things. Here's to keeping it fresh, this music goes a long way towards my nostalgia whilst being played in a completely different venue. Cheers to this series, there'll never be another like it!
I just gave each character two medicines and a mega-medicine. I would just let them attack and heal a little with medicine and use hell on the really hard encounter. It isn't too bad if you wait until after you beat Neclord to get the items.
Did you know, that there is a secret ending in Suikoden II? Where you choose to run away with Nanami before when Tinto was under attack (this happen after you kill Neclord in Tinto if I recall correctly). It doesn't give you a game over, but it will kill Ridley, and his star will be replaced by his son Boris. I found this uot after playing my 10th run.
Well I have to admit, despite Suikoden being one of my (if not THE) favorite games and having finished it at least 5 times, that this is news to me. Damn, now I have to play it again just to make sure...
Just saw the trailer, really happy to see that they do this. Although I gotta say, the graphic style didn't really convince me yet. You got those pixelated characters within crisp backgrounds, with a super sharp font that looks like from a phone game. Let's hope they do it right! Thank you for your comment.
I used to play this on my keyboard regularly after Suikoden 1 came out, but I couldn't read music and could only play up to 2:20. You did an amazing job!! 👏
Amazing job playing this song! My mind was blown when I realized that this piece was the original version of Neclord's unique boss theme in the second game. Truly wonderful compositions.
Props man, this is an incredibly difficult song to play! I tried playing it years ago, but since I can't read sheet music, it took me hours and hours of listening to it and figuring out which keys were being hit. Got about half way through learning it and exhausted myself, looked at the clock: I'd been playing for six hours non stop. X__X
@Gsus665 Hello, I might need to double-check about sheets, I could perhaps find them again, but I'm not sure. As for the piano, this is the Kawai CA-9 which is an outdated model. The current line would be the CA-93, but I can't recommend it because it has some firmware issues which result in sound problems (cracking sounds, sync issues etc.).
@akaphaneuf Hello, thank you - yeah I know reminiscence from Suikoden 2, it's a beautiful track, of course. I might play more Suikoden in the future if I can do it. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Great work on the passacaglia! You read my mind at the end of the video, I was just going to search for a cover of the wedding march at the end right after this one!
@Verdegrand I'm sorry for criticizing like this without taking into account the very important organ pedals that you don't have access to in this interpretation. I'm sure they would thicken up the low end and and complement the left hand which didn't sound "full" enough compared to the original in this version. By ornamentation I'm talking about trills that appear every now and then.
verdegrand hey I love with on his organ and very burning and as energetic and whether pressing organ passacaglia so had to learn I was curious to learn my love... thank you
Just to let other people know. Links are mixed at that particular site. Passacaria link on Sukioden 1 part of the page links to Passacaglia, and passacaglia link on Suikoden 2 part of the page links to Passacaria. So take care when downloading.
the fuck! I am playing suikoden for the first time and just yesterday i was playing through necrolord's castle thinking to myself 'this is an awesome piece that really fits this place' and now you play this you sir are the fucking man
The first time I played Suikoden, I got into Neclord's castle and this music freaked me out. I ran through it, not grinding fights to get people leveled up, and then failed miserably at the boss.
@CleverDjembe Hi, yeah I know the original. I still believe the transcription is as accurate as it can be for two hands without a pedalboard. I fail to see many missing ornaments, perhaps one or two (or do you mean staccato playing?). But you are right about the reverb, that bothered me as well, this is the max reverb available on that digital.
@Verdegrand ha, nice playing and nice story! if only everyone did burst out laughing to diffuse the moment for you and for everyone else! keep up with the experiments man! you really pull them off :P
@Verdegrand oh thank you :) If you find them i would be very glad :) I bought me one for now..two weaks ago...a Roland FP7 ...i like it :) Doesn´t look very piano like, but it has great keys and a warm sound...finally i could practise at home again *happy happy*
@TheIshter Heh, thanks. If you listen very closely, you'll notice a couple spots where I actually did use the perdal because I just couldn't resist my habits. About my organ experience, let me tell you a story :) I was playing for a church ceremony once, and after I finished playing, the priest began to pray. So I wanted to get off from the organ and then accidentally stepped on the pedalboard. I was soo embarrassed and I felt about half the people had an urge to burst out in laughter :)
@laliluleloism Hello, a tutorial for this is a bit difficult and will most probably not be possible at the moment. But if you have any problem with specific passages, feel free to drop me a line and I can try to help you out. And the Wedding March Variation was not in the sheets, but you can get the original from Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and try to implement the changes into it :)
Lots of slow practice. Constant relaxation and light touch. I'm eventually going to do this piece on a real organ and know that is going to be a difficult spot to nail out :P
@Gsus665 Hello, yeah I heard good things about Roland digitals. They are definitely a good choice. Oh and check n1bigdaddy's comment, he found the sheets :)
Have you listened to the original song? Many ornaments are missing and the trascription is rather inaccurate. Anyway, your playing is great, and I suggest adding more reverb to give it that Cathedral feeling. Anywhere where pipe organs are naturally heard is always a big space with lots of ambient reverb.
Such a pitty you don´t can send me a link to the sheet....what a great song...btw. what d-piano are you using ? i want to buy me one but i am not sure which one i should get :(
I'm learning this piece too Verdegrand, it looks like we're using the same sheet music! Things are relatively smooth until Variation #5 (2:22)... How in the world are you moving just one hand so quickly and accurately!? Do you have any tips for practicing that segment? The ending still brings me chills no matter how many times I hear it, very well done. Happy to see a performance of this filmed.
Atma505 You are sooo KIND!!! thank you Very much!! i really appreciate it!!! im just learning piano and would want to have this on my list that i will be playing in the future. Thanks Again!
PatPat Adams Good luck, it's a tough one but definitely a great piece to keep "looking back" at as you learn! It requires a lot of different techniques so you will constantly find yourself playing new parts of it bit-by-bit. Very fun piece to play. And you're welcome.
rejoice gentleman! i has found the sheet music! go to squaremusic(dot)ffworld(dot)com then look under sections for the name miki higashino then go to partitions and there it is thumb this comment up so that everyone will be able to find the sheets :)

What??? How did that pass by me too? That level would have been a tad bit easier had I known that!
I just gave each character two medicines and a mega-medicine. I would just let them attack and heal a little with medicine and use hell on the really hard encounter. It isn't too bad if you wait until after you beat Neclord to get the items.

Damienov Lol, yeah, I accidentally got that ending on my first playthrough. I had no idea what was happening! XD
Well I have to admit, despite Suikoden being one of my (if not THE) favorite games and having finished it at least 5 times, that this is news to me. Damn, now I have to play it again just to make sure...
Rejoice Suikoden fans, Suikoden 1/2 HD remaster is being released next year.

I used to love suikoden. still lovin this piece..
I felt like I was in Neclord's castle again...minus the fatigue from constantly battling those, um, things found in there.
How anyone gave this a thumbs down is beyond me?! Amazing this is simply amazing, you played beautifully and it is a joy to listen to!
Thank you
SPLENDID MY LORD NECLORD!! BRAVO!!!
What a piece
I used to play this on my keyboard regularly after Suikoden 1 came out, but I couldn't read music and could only play up to 2:20. You did an amazing job!! 👏
@2517155 Heh, yeah, it was actually used in the game at that spot exactly like that :)
Amazing! Well done! I'm eager to learn playing the organ myself.
Amazing! I couldn't learn this in 10,000,000 years!
Amazing job playing this song! My mind was blown when I realized that this piece was the original version of Neclord's unique boss theme in the second game. Truly wonderful compositions.

Brings back so many memories :) Thank you

I remember first hearing this piece. I couldn't stop thinking about Akumajo Draculaaaa

@akaphaneuf Hello, thank you - yeah I know reminiscence from Suikoden 2, it's a beautiful track, of course. I might play more Suikoden in the future if I can do it. Thanks for the suggestion :)
epic play and epic ending
Great work on the passacaglia! You read my mind at the end of the video, I was just going to search for a cover of the wedding march at the end right after this one!
to those who disliked. this is not a bieber video. it's Neclord solo organ.
@Verdegrand

only played one suikoden!Where you had a guy with 2 swords and you could get a game over on an island by staying at it...This piece is awesome!!
Just to let other people know. Links are mixed at that particular site. Passacaria link on Sukioden 1 part of the page links to Passacaglia, and passacaglia link on Suikoden 2 part of the page links to Passacaria. So take care when downloading.

You just gotta love the complete deconstruction of Mendelssohn's Wedding March at the end.
very nice job!
Well done!
idk why, but this song is popped in my mind since yesterday -_-
bravo! beautifully played.now i wanna play suikoden lol
I wish I could find more music like this. It's so aristocratically mournful.
You can try looking for more passacaglias, that's the type of music it is
Bach and buxtehude's passacaglias.
