Its one thing to diagnosis this but to originally come up with it is another thing...yes.....in other forms of music tgis has been done but not in the timing style....which most people forget....timing. Hats off to melanie
Thanks Simon! I may have asked you this before, but what are some artists you like? I plan on doing this as a series. BB king and other blues guys like Josh Smith are coming. Eventually Holdsworth. I’d love to be able to make sure I included some people you like.
@@andrefludd - thank you so much! I'm a fan of Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, Vernon Reid, Larry Carlton, Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp, Martin Barre, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Howe, Buddy Guy, Robben Ford, Emily Remler, Tuck Andress, Vinnie Moore, Earl Klugh, Larry Coryell, Al Di Meola, George Benson...I could go on forever. I'm really honoured you'd want to ask me that, but I'm certain that I'll enjoy whoever you choose to focus on. I think I've learned things from every guitarist I've ever heard and I trust your judgement so I look forward to seeing the next video. Thank you!
@@andrefludd Of course. I guess I was just expecting to get a little different twist, from the artist having a unique way of looking at the concepts. What I did get was an introduction to a bright young talent, so that's the main thing! Really enjoying your channel
I just learned a ton in the first 2 minutes, stuff I didn't know about either jazz and neo-soul. Thank you!
Glad to help!
top-tier lesson
Thank you! Lots more coming.

The specs on that guitar are amazing and the way you play is also, but really can't with the seafoam green haha
Thank you! They have similar spec stuff in “normal” colors!
I enjoy each and every one of these videos and I always learn something new (I've been playing for thirty six years). Thank you for all your efforts.

Love any attention or breakdown of Melonie’s playing. Thank you 🙏🏽
I love you Dr. Andre 🥰😍🥰
Trying some of these ideas out on my bass 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Bass is a much cooler instrument 😂
Great lesson Andre...I couldn't find a link to Melanie's channel though. Hadn't seen her in years on the tube. I'll google her.
Thank youu! Looking forward for more melanie faye tutorials! ❤️🥰
Beautiful cover amazing lesson, thank you for breaking this down!!
This is really cool! Thanks for uploading it
Wow I'm not familiar with her playing at all but now I feel the need to get acquainted.
Could you talk about agape Jerry next
He plays a mixture of neo soul, jazz and gospel
that's a very nice guitar sound
How do you feel about ernie ball/sterling guitars especially the sabre?
Idk why, but I love that d'angelico headstock. I just wish the body was offset.
They do have an offset semihollow guitar!
@@ChronicWatClesNarnia yeah, but it's more of a reverend than a 335 style.
@@pellabandgeekah yeah, a Starcaster type shape but D’angelico would be cool!
Isn't this all a bit too Spanky Alford to attribute to someone new?
All the neo soul players take influence from him for sure. But I guess that’s all of music. we all mostly reuse, modify, reimagine etc
