I've played guitar for over 30 years, I have this exact guitar, it out plays my American strat and any of my Gibsons, amazingly fast and one of the few my hand doesn't go numb playing due to ultra thin neck. I hate saying it but it's the best playing guitar I've ever put my hands on.
damn you prefer it over an Am Std Strat?
I agree that the pickup on an electric guitar make a big part of the sound, but still there is an acoustic element, because the strings and body resonate and vibrate. The body's vibration translates into how the string vibrates, which drives the pickup. But basswood is not "bad" by any means, though you're right that it is a relatively cheap wood type, compared to the normal hardwoods that might be used. However, basswood may have some desirable tone qualities, though it is inexpensive (originally flamenco guitars had cypress back and sides because cypress was so cheap! Now it is prized for its tone.) For instance, Joe Satriani's JS2000 signature model has a basswood body. I've heard it said that basswood is good for taming the shrill treble sounds.
good points
I have the rg 2ex2 I’ve have fenders high end Ibanez guitars and this one is by far my most reliable and easy to play and use. I put emg pickups and locking tuners. Plays and sounds great. I agree Ibanez makes the best guitars on the cheap. With some minor mods you have a great guitar
Is that a silver sky back there?
One of my fav guitars yet
Can you review a vintage Gibson Les Paul Custom please? 1970-1979s to be exact
Well, Good Demo Bro, You are right, Floyd rose bridge is complicated, I had a hard time to get a correct tuning every time when i need change my strings compare the standard vintage bridge are much more easier, i had a few Floyd a few Vintage standard, Ibanez is well good guitar, I found the Indonesia made is much better then china made, tell yiu that much, China make cheap material and quartiles very cheap, i found even Korea made better then China made, I have a Ibanez was make in Japan , very solid body and much stable, i guess that where d=they came from. Hey Thanks for sharing, it was very nice to get more knowledges every day, cannot learn it all.
The only one I think are garbage are the gios. I mean, they aren’t THAT bad, but if I see someone playing one I just want to hand them a Jackson
Rule of thumb for me is indonesia anything isnt up to par for a reliable instrument
Eh, you have to pick & choose tbh. I have a custom NT ESP LTD & it’s one of the best guitars I own. T style 1987 reproduction. The headstock is something to be desired (I wasn’t too hot about it at first, but it grew on me)
But it’s honestly one of the most resonate guitars in my entire collection. Check it out for yourself: esp ltd eclipse '87 nt turquoise

Agreed. I think if you’re going to, going the Esp Ltd route is best option
@@larsheuker this is a false statement my brother
One of the best guitars I ever owned!!!
I had that one too and im proud that i had a guitar like that even if its cheap but the playability is so good.🤘
the whole idea about the sound and quality of electric guitar pickup , depend what type sound of pick up, even a cheap guitar cost under 300 still good i found.
you should check out the older ibanez electric guitars made during the Fugi-Gen Era in Japan. I highly reccomend them but nowadays they are hard to find. In good condition at least
I have a 2000 year model RG570 MIJ. I’ve always loved it, awesome guitar.
i own same gtr i love mine finding a hardtail is hard
You have to search pretty far to find a bad guitar made by Ibanez
Agreed
I've had problems with the RGs as a repairman. Since the neck is made up of 2-3 pieces of wood, the bend and curve differently, making it near impossible sometimes to have a good feeling relief.
Dunno about repairs.. nvr had to repair a guitar before except for re frets. But this Ibanez model seems pretty solidly built from my experience
how much do you charge for a guitar setup as a repairman?
Silver Sky alert
I've owned this guitar for a couple years now and I like it a lot. I had the pickups replaced with better ones. It's a solid guitar very reliable. The band Chon started out with this exact model.
What pickups u replace them with
