Cackle has never failed me over the last 25 years. The finest birds Ive owned are from Cackles flocks. Someone stole 3 birds from a shipment 3 years ago and Cackle told me my next order they would make up for it. They lived up to this without me reminding them 3 years later. That says something.
I'm sorry you had this experience, personally I don't have the same experience with cackle.. I order from them every year and can't see myself ordering from anywhere else. I've always gotten exactly what I asked for with extras and they have communicated just fine over email when I have questions.
I got five of their polish surplus from a feed store. One died from microcephaly, two ended up being extremely aggressive and one overlays and eat stuff that is not food without being mineral defecient. None of them have the wonderful polish personality. With McMurray I got a beautiful sultan from them but she died of overlaying. So I am afraid of getting more. But of the two if I had to choose i would go with Murray McMurray because they do have good customer service.
I agree with you! Mitty is so much better!! I ordered 16 chickens and they through in 4. When I got my order yesterday, 6 were doa and at the time of writing this, I have lost another 6. It too 3 days to get here! Only 2 states away. They were sent USPS! Murry did overnight last time I ordered. I will never order from Cackle again!

I love Hoover hatcheries I've ordered at least 160 chicks from them and everyone arrived alive..
thnx for the insight, I was debating between these two hatcheries to order from.
Don’t get me wrong, Cackles birds are a really nice quality but the lack of customer service and communication was a huge draw back for me.

I have had orders from both in the past and both hatcheries did a great job for me with communication.
I was not satisfied with Cackle’s customer service at all, but the birds I have are nice.
@@ChickenSchmidtFarms, I will still use cackles because some of the breeds at mcmurrey are not as good . Like mcmurrey’s delaware chickens .
They did the same thing to me... They interchanged breeds i didn't ask for, didn't let me know, and charged me for the convenience....
