Hello! I'm on a "people try Canadian things" binge and just watched your video. I couldn't understand all of it because I think you both were slipping in and out of English, but that's ok. You did say poutine correctly. That was a bad poutine. I could tell just from looking at it. Once poutine has had a chance to cool down, it's no good. It needs to be made with hot, fresh french fries, fresh cheese curds (cheddar that hasn't been aged, and hasn't been pressed into a block), and a good, but not too thick gravy. I could see that the poutine you got had shredded cheese, which was probably mozzarella. Shredded cheese will turn poutine into a gooey, greasy, soggy mess. If you're making it at home, and you can't get cheese curds, you can substitute with pizza mozzarella cut into chunks, not shredded. It's not exactly the same taste, but it will melt properly. The meat pie is an old, traditional, Christmas-y, French-Canadian dish, and is pronounced "tor-tee-air". Traditionally it has beef, veal, or pork, sometimes all three, and sometimes wild meat, or even fish. Whatever meats were available. It's true, it isn't a heavily spiced dish, and grocery store versions can be on the bland side in order to accommodate more tastes. Homemade versions are usually a lot better and usually better spiced.
Thank you so much for taking time to comment. I enjoyed reading your comment and learnt new things. Hopefully I get to try more Canadian things. P.s: I’m happy you stumbled on my channel and will appreciate if you subscribe 🤗
