    I did same procedure to my enclosed trailer... scraper, wire wheel, rubbing alcahol, eterna bond tape, self leveling lap seal... no leaks or seperation... done. Nice job.

    You’re videos are great and thorough. You have a good attention to detail. I really enjoy your channel. I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now and I can’t wait until I can buy my cargo trailer. I will follow your build to a “T”.

    My Dad used to build wooden houseboats with inboard car motors for propulsion. He would overbuild EVERYTHING. If a 2 x 2 would work then he'd use a 2 x 4. I see you do the same thing. I'd buy a trailer that you built. You're thorough, neat and smart. These are traits of a craftsman, these are the traits of an artist.

    Another great video Kevin. You are so good and thorough in your work. Really hope the roof coating works for you. You have put a lot of work into it to have it fail. Thanks!

    I hope the roofing sealant works out for your Kevin. Happy to see you got an air conditioner! I wished the roof vent we have was wired, I'd take the fantastic fan off your hands! Thank you for sharing!

      A $100.00 + shipping should be good for the fan and the cover
      I have $185.07 in the fan and $60 some in the cover.

      Kevin Robinson I just have a regular vent fan in there now so there's no power ran to that manual fan. I wouldn't know where to get the power from to run it. Thank you though!

    I hope that elastic coating works out. I'm almost at the point to put something on the roof of my camper. I have all the walls done, but only primer and one coat of paint on the roof. I wanted to paint it with white. All the other walls are desert tan. Let us know if that's good stuff as I might want to go that route too.

    I'm looking at doing one of these next I just finished a teardrop camper build and did it in fiberglass resin, so far no stress fractures. But I do like the ready to go part of a cargo trailer, keep up the good work Kevin.

    Hey Kevin u could reuse ur fantastic fan over the shower stall, u can use the fan when you don’t need the ac. Just a thought. Great job on the camper.

    Good video. I’ve been trying to find one for what you did to your trailer. I have a roof on my 8 x 6 trailer that was damaged right from the factory has some dents in it and I wanted to fill it over using the similar method that you use

    Keep the fan and have both fan and a/c. When you only have 12v, you will wish you still had that fan. Have to have shore power for that a/c.

    Hope you have some heavy duty wire for the AC draws lot more then fan. Is it 12 volt?

    • @bentnickel7487
      @bentnickel7487 6 лет назад

      FixmyToyota That fan probably had 14 gauge wire on it. I bet Kevin uses 8 gauge or maybe 6 gauge. He builds everything the way it SHOULD be built.

    • @Robinson-Homestead
      @Robinson-Homestead  6 лет назад

      I used 12-2 wire thanks for the comments.

      Good. AC is better than DC if you have a shore hookup.

    • @TheWoodHaven
      @TheWoodHaven 6 лет назад

      Yeah, you don't want to run the AC off of a battery.

      In a recent video, CheapRVliving showed you need a minimum of 600 watts, a slow starting air conditioner and a battery bank of 1000 watts to maintain a 5000 btu air conditioner during the day.

    Kevin, I think you were dealing with two different materials on your roof. One might have been galvanize aluminium and plain aluminium that came up from the side walls. The sealant stuck to one but not the other.

      Diamond Cargo is horrible. I’ve posted my negative review with photos to Google. Thank you Kevin. I am getting ready to do this to my 8.5x20 trailer only after 2 years of owning it. I found out the hard way through mold and rusting carpentry tools.

      I used the stuff from Home Depot.
      Allied with brush (after prep).
      Each coat goes 90 degrees from the previous.
      4 coats.
      Never leaked after 6 years or so in very cold and very hot temps.
