Met Rob at his brother John's house in Pacifica in 93" when I was 10. He and his brother rented a limo to take investors somewhere later that evening. Rob payed the limo driver extra to drive a bunch of us neighborhood kids (along with his nieces) to the local Mcdonalds before the investors arrived. It was one of the highlights of my childhood and I've never forgot how generous and cool he was!
Great episode. Don't like how Bill doesn't allow others to finish their point of view. Rob had a interesting point about Poland and NATO with the Russian/Ukraine war.

I love Rob Schneider, every time I see him in a movie I think the entire room perks up. Everyone wants to watch him. I can't think of a single thing he's done that I haven't enjoyed. Just the name drop of him being in a movie is enough for me to watch it so that I can see what he does with the scene. I think he's a really nice guy too. In college, a buddy of mine went down to some baseball thing, maybe spring training, and he saw Rob Schneider there. Rob Schneider took this really nice picture with him and my buddy had the picture in his dorm room. It was an instant conversation starter and gave the guy a lot of street cred. I remember seeing it for the first time and just staring at the photo and was like, is that Rob Schneider?? How did you get a picture with him?! Super nice thing for him to do for a total stranger.
Maher pretends to be smart and a student of history. Yes, he pulls out one random bit of trivia to try to sound informed when he hasn't the logic to connect any facts.

This Club Random podcast just keeps getting better. I learned about Rob Schneider watching this. I learned that while it would seem there are some things I do not agree with him on, he’s a sweet and affable man. I’m a fan now. Bill’s ability to see through the bullshit and have a genuine conversation with someone is incredible and incredibly important. This was funny and heart warming. And it drove home many really important points, none more so than two people appreciating the chance to talk with each other despite their few differences.
I don't agree with Rob, but I can respect where he's coming from. Yes, Trump broke the law, but there comes a point where we can't heal and come together by lingering on it for so long
Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo is one of my favorite comedy films. I enjoy hearing Bill and Rob talk things out. I learned some things about equality. Thank you for the episode. Have Rob on again please.
Rob is FABULOUS!!! So honest about himself. That is so refreshing. He has always been a great comic and I watch everything he does. He is a natural and I wish he did more because he is a comic that relates to ALL of us!!!

What a great episode!!! I'm a huge history buff, I loved the dialog! Rob and Bill, you guys need to make this into show or do a comedy special together. We need more of this type of humorous, informative and respectful dialog. This was so good!
Great discussion with two people who have some different views. Very respectful, mature and a demonstration of independent critical thinkers. Excellent!!!
Am a fan of Rob Schneider and followed some of his zany movies and standup for the 80-90s but surprised me on this episode, I never knew he was so good with his political history and balance view on so many non-comedic trivia. WOW. Impressed the shit out of me.
@@HH-gv8mx you making that condensing comment about people in Florida is part of the problem. In case you didn't notice bill kept cutting rob off and yelling over him and being condensing just because he had a different opinion. It was rob that kept being polite and restrained.
Bill can be crabby and selfish in a conversation. He might not be fun to talk to when he's like that. But it passes as the conversation changes. It's a good show and I'd never have known all of the people I do now. They've all been nice people who I wouldn't even have considered.
Rob seems possibly nice at heart, but he's clearly nuts, drank the Kool-Aid and fell way down the conservative bull shit rabbit hole. Bill tries to show Rob the idiocy and the irony of the bull shit conspiracy theories and made up nonsense that he's spewing, but every time he did, Rob would just quickly try to change the subject and just kept trying to rapid fire garbage. I think that frustrated Bill, which is why he was a little prickly. Talking to an idiot that has the listening and critical thinking skills of a wall is never fun for anyone, especially when you like the person and want to help them like Bill was trying to do.

After following Rob on Twitter, I was excited to see this episode pop up in my feed. I agree with basically everything that was said by both Bill and Rob. Great episode.
I love this particular club random, because it focuses on the point that we all come from somewhere and most of us don't all come from here originally we all have families and stories and tragedies that came with us. We all have our story to tell. We all have our tragedies. But I guess it's what we make of them that make us a solid human being. It makes me remember that I believe it was Lincoln who said it's not about how many times you fall, but truly about how many times you get up! And my point here is I think we're all battling with this there's not just some select small group as they want us to believe!
I thought Rob Schneider was funny on SNL and then for the last 20 years I thought he was so redundant and annoying. I'm so happy to halve stumbled across this interview, the guy is effing hilarious!
Another great podcast with so many highlights I’m discussing with my friend right now, which we do every week after a new club random drops. Biggest ones for me were the world war 2 discussion, felt for Rob so much during that part, which is why we must never stop talking or learning about WW2. Bill and Rob discussing their Politicly Incorrect sketch, I would love to see that if that could be posted. Great work gentlemen👏👏
Always loved Deuce Bigalow (Eddie Griffin also amazing in this), the Animal and The Hot Chick. Amazed about Rob’s historical knowledge. Great Leno impression, too.
Loved watching this interview. Rob has in the past has done a lot of fundraising for the schools in Pacifica. The Blue Angels fly over San Francisco during Fleet Week which usually takes place in October.
Great Interview. Real discussion and real diss agreements. I have these with my friends and that’s the way it should be. Respectful. We don’t have to agree on everything. We also have to accept when we’re wrong we’re human we don’t know everything and we make mistakes. I don’t think that’s to much to ask for .
It is annoying when he interrupts, especially when they are getting revved up to say something interesting. But then I remember he’s drunk and high as fuck, then realize it’s unavoidable. Great none the less.
Bills interviewing technique is flawless and the way he gets his subject to open up is truly a sight to behold. He inquired what was it that Rob had issues with then Bill praises him and then Rob goes to open up about it and Bill interrupts and praises him again completely cutting off the story as if he doesn't care to hear it or offering the opportunity to change the subject. This creates the environment of a safe haven and this allows the subject to pick and choose what they wanna talk about at their leisure which inevitably becomes just = Good conversation between friends.
He really does have a hard wall there-he will never listen to anything that a guest/friend has to say that is good about Trump or about the numerous issues with that election. If he could spend the time to go through all the witness testimony of the way the republican volunteers were pushed away from the pollsters so they couldn’t be observed, that alone was super sketch-I saw enough of that to strongly support Trump’s claim, let alone all of the other things that were not legit about the changing of rules right before the election without representatives voting on it. It is sad the Supreme Court was too chicken to do anything about it-I think they considered how it would go over with the TDS side of the population that would burn the world down. Probably the biggest mistake in history. They could have fully vetted the votes with bipartisan focus and volunteers of good standing. But the level of scrutiny wasn’t sufficient to resolve the population’s concerns and now the DOJ is revealing that we can’t have any trust for the government …. It sucks-I just want everyone to get along like we did when ska and swing were popular in the late 90s:). Now I worry about my kid’s future-I think that is a reason Bill can’t see what’s happening fully. He will be gone before things get so bad that it would affect his life. That’s why he doesn’t have enough openness to see the problems with the current administration and the danger that they represent to the country’s future.
It’s so funny to see people still support trump after he caused a riot at the Capitol all because he was a sore loser. It’s funny to see people believe trumps lie about massive voter fraud without any evidence
@@gstar3569 he’s obsessed with trump not getting re-elected. So is the majority of the country. The Maga’s are obsessed with trump. Bill tends to get easily provoked and reacts quickly whenever someone disagrees with him, although he manages to maintain a calm exterior, although it's quite apparent and I believe Rob noticed too. He's quite an amusing individual!
I think Bill loves when the Trump topic comes up. It's as if he can't wait to bash anyone that doesn't agree with him but is always disguised as level-headed and rational thinking. It's like a free shot at being rude to his guests.

Best Club Random episode ever imo Bill and Rob play off each other perfectly and its comedy gold
Ever, we’re only on the first year guy…
@@illuddivinus3309 well it has started so until there is a better Club Random episode this would be in the category of "ever" 🙂
Seriously a special podcast! Bill and rob are great together!
Bill is so out of his depths in history with Rob that he's constantly trying to one-up him with all sorts of irrelevant facts. Rob is in his element.
Maher pretends to be smart and a student of history. Yes, he pulls out one random bit of trivia to try to sound informed when he hasn't the logic to connect any facts.
Totally agree....Rob is funny. Bill, not so much......
Typical
Go Rob! Funny as hell, great conversation.
Bill, love the podcast. Love Rob for going against the grain and being truthful in a place where nowadays can ruin you for doing just that.
Yep, he's actually a brave little guy. I mean that in the best way
Bill I love your Random show... amazing! Glad you are doing it because I don't watch your tv show. This is so free and honest
This podcast is starting to grow on me, rob schneider is a legend “U CAN DO IT” 😂😂😂
This podcast is quickly becoming one of my favourite things rn. It’s shows like these am that at dark times are things I cling on to, yes that can be kind of sad I guess but it helps get me through. Just thinking right okay only a few more days until a new episode to listen and laugh to and to find comfort in really helps. Thank you!

Just if you don’t know- check out Fly On The Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade. Just did a two parter with the Rob. Amazing
Amen Brother
@@zachgist5701 Yes! Fantastic podcast! SInce I was child of the 80s, they've had on so many of my favorites!
I don't agree with Rob, but I can respect where he's coming from. Yes, Trump broke the law, but there comes a point where we can't heal and come together by lingering on it for so long
Naw...Rob is just one of those guys who has just enough intelligence to be wrong!
Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo is one of my favorite comedy films. I enjoy hearing Bill and Rob talk things out. I learned some things about equality. Thank you for the episode. Have Rob on again please.
Cakes 👏 and Pies 👏 cakes and 👏 pies
There are so many quotable parts that I say almost every day to this day. That's a huge b!tch🤣🤣
Did you say steak?
I had never been a fan of Rob Schneider, but I did see his Netflix special and he was great. He was funny, entertaining and thoroughly enjoying.
Rob is FABULOUS!!! So honest about himself. That is so refreshing. He has always been a great comic and I watch everything he does. He is a natural and I wish he did more because he is a comic that relates to ALL of us!!!
Thank you so very much Mr Maher & Mr Schneider for being among the few public favors brave enough to stick up for ppl harmed by pharmaceutical products!
What a great episode!!! I'm a huge history buff, I loved the dialog!
Rob and Bill, you guys need to make this into show or do a comedy special together. We need more of this type of humorous, informative and respectful dialog. This was so good!
Great/uplifting comment dude.
He was completely wrong about Andrew Johnson.
Rob is incredibly base. That's why Hollywood has 90% cancelled him for real.
He just gets a little work here and there now mainly as an INDEPENDENT
Great interview. Team America is def one of the best comedies of all time.
Favorite episode so far!!! Brilliantly awkward and Rob is a giant to me. You both are. Every guest list is top shelf. Thank you!
I've always been a big Schneider fan,he did some great characters back in the day,its a shame he wouldn't be able to do it today
Why?
Rob is terrific. His movies were both silly and fun to watch. This is a great show! I love it.
That was a great show. Smart people having a healthy exchange about varying ideas.
I wish my neighbors could have a healthy exchange ..but it’s Florida so I guess I’ll keep dreaming.
@@johnogrady2418 I'm thinking Bill getting High causes him to keep interrupting his guests. He should wait and make his comment After.
who knew Rob was so knowledgeable about history and politics. he would be GREAT on the panel of Real Time
There's a reason he got (at least somewhat) blackballed
Because he calls out the left on their craziness & they have to shut everyone up who disagrees w/them
A great conversation, Rob Schneider is a very interesting guy.
Rob Schneider is the greatest underappreciated comedian of south east Asian, Prussian, Tarnipolese ... well any way... good guy.
I always thought he was White.
And I never would have thought about it.
Damn Rob. What’s up? Speakin’ the truth right off the bat
Had no idea Rob was so versed in politics and history. Great episode as always. 🔥
Actually, this kinda shows he's not versed in politics and history. He's not all that versed in comedy either.
Yep as Rob said it was proven there was No Russia Collusion!!
@@johnrwalker53 Umm...actually, the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report concluded and proved the opposite.
@@TontoEpstein Umm,Tonto it's State Legislation that should be approving Governors(in Blue States)changing the Voting Laws.France banned Mail-In Balloting many years ago. Why Tonto?Fraud!

Keep them coming Bill, love these shows.
Ok,.... pausing the video to point out how EPIC that Leno impersonation by Schneider is.
Switching back and forth between voices seamlessly & everything.
Hey Rob, you should turn that Leno impression into a regular segment.
Somehow, someway... it would be hilarious.
After following Rob on Twitter, I was excited to see this episode pop up in my feed. I agree with basically everything that was said by both Bill and Rob. Great episode.
This is better than Bill’s HBO show that I stopped watching. What a great interview.
Now just imagine if Bill could let Rob get one single thought out without interrupting.
A show with Rodney and Jay riffing on politics would have been hilarious.
I just love Rob....!!! so funny and so down to earth!!!!
Bill tells Rob: "you don't need glasses here" while he himself is wearing glasses. I miss my stoner days!
Just another example of Bill's ego. Like Bill but he does like to pontificate.
Rob, thanks for the nod to Thomas Sowell an American unsung, brilliant, thinker. Good show.
Great one hour and twenty minutes … THANK YOU for all the real world entertainment!!
I've always loved Rob Schneider's comedic vibe and I'm so happy to watch him with my other favorite Bill Maher
Rob came off a lot quicker, more charming, and funnier than I remembered him being, I need to check out his stand up stuff.
His stand-up is really something. I know his movies aren't much. He should do more of this stuff.
Don't bother, he's lame like most MAGAts.
Yeah right
@@Dane_Youssef his movies aren’t much? Why do you think we love him? It’s from seeing the movies he played parts in. Partially.
His stand up on Netflix is really good. He has a daughter who’s a country music singer that usually joins him on stage at the end of his shows.
Unlike other comedians in interviews, Rob Schneider is naturally hilarious.
Loved watching this interview. Rob has in the past has done a lot of fundraising for the schools in Pacifica. The Blue Angels fly over San Francisco during Fleet Week which usually takes place in October.
The Power and the Majesty!!!
The word awesome has meaning when I hear them go roaring over...
L
Best Club Random episode yet Bill.
Some of these are better than the rest. I liked this one a lot! Thanks Bill.
Love the show. My only negative is I really wish he wouldn’t interrupt as much as he does. Other than that - great stuff!
You really don't listen to what you say. You said it, he's rude and cuts people off when he doesn't have the upper hand.
Rob is the man!!!!!! you can do it!
It was funny watching Bill get so triggered about trump. He still has a lot of inner work to do
He really does have a hard wall there-he will never listen to anything that a guest/friend has to say that is good about Trump or about the numerous issues with that election.
Seems like belaboring Trump would be a waste of pot, er, “cloves.”
It’s so funny to see people still support trump after he caused a riot at the Capitol all because he was a sore loser. It’s funny to see people believe trumps lie about massive voter fraud without any evidence
He is obsessed with Trump, I don’t think there is a cure!
@@gstar3569 he’s obsessed with trump not getting re-elected. So is the majority of the country. The Maga’s are obsessed with trump. They can’t pick a new nominee even though trump is the worst candidate. It’s hilarious to watch. You have no party anymore. Just the party of Trump. And you guys say you’re not in a cult. lol
It was a real pleasure to watch. Rob appears to be a wonderful person. Bill tends to get easily provoked and reacts quickly whenever someone disagrees with him, although he manages to maintain a calm exterior, although it's quite apparent and I believe Rob noticed too. He's quite an amusing individual!
Only knew Rob from his movies but he seems like a down to earth guy, loved the conversation!
Rob is a real mensch. Love him. Loved this.
I think Bill loves when the Trump topic comes up. It's as if he can't wait to bash anyone that doesn't agree with him but is always disguised as level-headed and rational thinking. It's like a free shot at being rude to his guests.
TDS poster child
He's closed minded when it comes to other people's POV. End of conversation let's talk about something else while I have the last word.
Funny thing is Bill is the one that continuously brings up the Trump topic every chance he gets but refuses to listen to anyone else's pov. Then as you said he gets rude and acts like everyone else is obsessed with Trump. He's as bad as the those old hags on the view.
@@tonyb6007 Just because you disagree with someone and disagree strongly, doesn't mean you are closed minded. It very well could mean that your mind was completely open, you analyzed the person or issue then came to a conclusion and formed an opinion, and perhaps a strong opinion.
@@kylecannon6022 'TDS' is the 'Poster Slogan' for normalizing completely crazy.
Dude…this show makes a conservative / libertarian like me love Maher.
This podcast started with the legendary William Shatner and every guest except a select few have been absolute stellar. I thought the Bert Kreischer episode was my favorite but Rob Schneider has been in so many movies throughout our lives, you can't help but just love the guy. Keep up the fantastic podcast Bill, we love it!!
Notice Bill changes the subject immediately when Rob destroy's Bill's argument.
Yep he always dances around when his point his destroyed because the fact he might be wrong is a travesty
I'm no fan of Bill's politics but honestly i've noticed that he just tries to avoid political hot button issues all together on this podcast.
@@Pingaheimer Only when he might not win by the facts being thrown in his face.
Or its better to show some class and agree to disagree because we respect social discourse...
Perhaps y’all haven’t really followed him as long as I have? He’s always done this, & imo, it’s part of just who he is. Nothing to “notice, unless you’ve just watched him now & then. 🤷♀️ if there’s an HBO special he’s done, an interview, or even Politically Incorrect that I’d not seen! I’ve been a fan since, ‘79 or ‘80, when I’d seen him in a NYC Comedy Club. I’ve seen him on occasion on his comedy tour. This isn’t new, it’s who he’s always been. He has the last word, nobody’s smarter than him, says nobody but Bill! Gotta love him! lol
Rob is an OG in comedy, I have always loved his work true Master of his art. One of my all time favorites up there with Prior
That's high praise indeed. Richard Pryor is one of the best of all time.
But yeah, I respect Rob Schneider
He's had brillant guests, not all of them are, but you learn which ones you don't want bump into if you met them on the street because they will put you to sleep. And others you really wish you could engage with that you never knew you would want to. I love this show.
This is one of your best conversations so far.
Rob Shneider's laughter is contacious.
Bill, you really have Trump Derangement Syndrom. Love Rob.
No, actually, you do
Rob is awesome, always gracious and witty.
