Don't look at homes on the west coast then, you don't even get a yard for that price here and the house is half the square feet. said really how expensive homes have become, you can even buy a fixer upper for less then 400k.

great video Mike! I'm originally from Pittsburgh myself, lived there for 32 years but have now been in Raleigh for 11 years. It's crazy how much the housing market has exploded here in the past 5 years. Great place to live if you ever want to relocate! Love the look and design of this house. Wouldn't mind seeing more of these types of videos on this channel.
Raleigh is low taxes and crime, tech colleges and a strong economy. The whole state is in hyper growth mode. Sure it's hot as f$$k but little downside. Nice downtown, housing still reasonable, and airport closeto easy to get in and out.
We moved from MD to the Raleigh area in 2019 and our home value has gone up $200k since then. The market is crazy down here despite the ridiculous interest rates.
Great tour of the house Mike. I like the hardwood flooring, not a carpet person. Also he must don't for know, dont have a off shoe policy. And I liked the stained concrete flooring in the garage.
Thanks for the reality Check. I'm going to need to just stay in New York since it seems like I'm going to be outpriced in North Carolina now 😂. I love his property. And I really love that outdoor patio.
I had a house a lot like that, and it was pretty rare that we went upstairs. Like you mentioned, a lot of wasted space. Nice house ,but it doesn't "flow". I prefer a more open plan layout.
Some people don't understand "location, location, location " is everything and N.C. is a pretty expensive place to live near the downtown area. If I had the finances to move in a house like that I would immediately.
Hey M. AutoVlog, the house has great "curb appeal" especially the CONCRETE driveway instead of the much less attractive tar. One MAJOR drawback however, the glued particle board construction used by builders to increase their margins over genuine PLYWOOD. This crappy material is pressed together with scrap wood and contains formaldehyde which slowly leeches out of the "wood" over time. Of course it is then inhaled by the home's occupants. Not to put a damper on the guy's new home but something to definitely be cognizant of. Hope this helps Yo ! 🎯
If I'm not mistaken, plywood is a thin sheet made by gluing layers of wood together, thin wood layers are stacked one on top of the other in opposite directions. It looks like that's what I saw during the attic view. Particle board is made from wood chips, sawdust, etc also glued together under high heat and pressure. Are you thinking plywood as a ripped piece of a log? That would be the best, but no commercial builder is doing that unless it's custom and the price goes UP!
@@robnanneman No Sir, absolutely NOT real plywood construction. Take a better view at approx. 7:33 of the attic flooring and walls. That "marbled wood" material is a compressed & glued product. You're correct that genuine plywood is also sandwiched together using a glue adhesive but the glue is non-toxic. For some reason the much less expensive sawdust/particle board needs a toxic adhesive to bind the material together. Hence, the dirty little secret among home builders of a "wood" product that steadily bleeds formaldehyde into the home. A health concern that is further exacerbated by the "Tyvek" house wrap material that further contains the formaldehyde INSIDE the home. 🆘 🏠. 🆘

1.1 Mil ??? Huhhh ?? There are sooo many disappointments in this house to cost that much… shared driveway, narrow walkways, tiny guest and tiny full bath, three car garage ?? I couldn’t see buying this house for 1.1 mil.
Not the economy. It's fraudulent and corrupt monetary policies debasing currencies. This would've been a 400k house 4 or 5 years ago. No high-end materials and absolutely not worth 1.1 million. I'm not sh*tting on the person that bought this, but rather lament how we allowed politicians and bankers to strangle us in record-debt and a society that's reached depressing levels of inequality, greed and exclusion from the propertymarket. An income of $115.000 would be needed to be able to afford the median homeprice of $420.000 in the US. That's excluding the hotspots. Add to that propertytaxes and insurance rising by 15-25% and then some. This is so wrong and it's heartbreaking. This is what you get when a population is being gaslit by media, corporate America and multi-millionairs posing as politicians. It's the scam of the century.
Guess he made a ton of cash on the Mt Washington condo, and conversely had to pony up for the new digs in Raleigh! Nice though! One thing he won’t be doing in Raleigh is shoveling snow put a price on that!

I'm looking at basically the same houses with a couple acres. $400-$550k. I know it's all about location, and I'm not looking in Raleigh or even NC. However, this is also why I'm looking where I am. I really don't want to see my neighbors or smell them.
I liked the house 🏡 tour. I live in Wilmington NC. It’s about 2.5 hours from Raleigh. It’s right on the coast. You should check out condos here. You mentioned you would like a place in Destin Florida. Wilmington might be cheaper and closer to your buddy
You can tell it's a guy's house. TV's, audio system, and bar are set up, but the dining room is empty & the breakfast room has a tiny table and chairs.
Canada 😂 yeah but there the money is similar to Mexican Pesos. 1 million Canadian is only $750 grand U.S.D… so there is that.
