One very important detail… after you tension your ratchet strap, always tie off the loose end near the ratchet in the direction of the boat center. This is in case the ratchet fails and yes, they do fail!

So, not all C15s have a mast partner. In that case, shrouds should be connected before stepping the mast.
Yup! I wish I learned that without having the mast partner. It's useful knowledge for most mast stepping I'd think
