One of my favorites, and one of the most challenging missions in the game. Tons of targets, squishy targets to protect, and a lot of mean mothers around. Despite being this early, taking a plane with low stats is NOT advisable - hence why I took an optimal build Apalis, which, although still far from gamebreaking (THE APALIS IS NOT A SUPERPLANE, WE KNOW, JOEY), is quite powerful. And technically it is a very early aircraft so hey, not cheating.
In short, ACX's score attack mission by excellence. So maybe it was a bad idea to show my optimal route. But trust me, I do have a few some more tricks up my sleeve in this mission :)
PS: Sorry about the audio, it came way too low on this mission. I advise increasing the volume.

I remember playing this game years ago destroying bridges just as the enemy ground units go over it. It was funny seeing them slowly fall to the ground and explode.

What if this means that Garuda 1 was once a mercenary?????
It's very likely this was just a coincidental overlook. ACX and 6 were developed mostly at the same time by different team, after all.
Also wouldn't make any canonical sense; Emmeria-Estovakia went down in 2015-16, and Aurelia-Leasath in 2020. Unless Garuda 1's a timelord, I don't see how it could happen, unless Talisman decided to desert Emmeria for no apparent reason.
I think an A-10 has sneaked in with the friendly squadron. :P

What parts do you have on your Apalis? (And the Fregata you used in 11B, for that matter?)
This mission sucks for any of the less agile aircraft. I can't count the number of times I've crashed into a canyon wall because I can't pitch up fast enough to not do a belly flop on some jagged igneous rock.
You could sure as hell tune the Apalis to be a super plane if you knew what you were doing. Of course, that applies to all of the tune planes in the game. Two of which actually are super planes.
That's kind of one of the big draws to the Apalis for me. It's like the description says. It can be built up from "Decent, mid-game plane" to "Raptor-destroying beast" with some tuning. Fucking hate how Joint Assault decided to hack its legs off and force it to be dogshit.
It's a really balanced aircraft. The build I used here is probably the most optimal (save for the paper-thin armor); it's possible to max out speed or mobility, but other stats take a significant hit. One of very few original aircraft I can use without feeling a tad guilty, lol.
Mhm. I hope the Apalis turns up in a later game. AC7's set to take place in 2020, so... Maybe I can be hopeful? Hahaha.
Considering how they seem to seem to completely ignore the existence of any game beyond the PS2 trilogy in the AC7 interviews, I wouldn't hold my breath. Hell, consider ACX is narrated by Genette, who repeatedly says he wants to *go home* because he can't get used to the southern seasons - you know, the home that's now revealed to be at war.
Well, that's the joy of retcons and stuff like that. Who can say.
My Apalis build wasnt that good if I remember right. But the XR45 was a beast. Couldnt stand up to much damage but almost on par with the Fenrir in the mobility department

One thing we often forget, ACZ, 6, and X were developed more or less at the same time, and the last one by a different team. It's understandable a coincidence like this ace's name would happen.
Actually, there is a difference between the call sign Garuda and the Garuda Team, which is Comprised of Garuda 1, Talisman, and Garuda 2, Shamrock.
So, refering to the ace that was shot down as Garuda, that would be his callsign, not team designation.
In other words, rest easy. Talisman is fine, it was just a cheap discount "ace" with the call sign Garuda whom was shot down... XD

It's likely a complete coincidence. Ace Combat X was mostly developed by a different studio, Access Games, at the same time as Project Aces worked on Zero *and* 6.
