    Most cyclists understand the reasons for using whatever edge one can to win, especially when its as pervasive as it was. The bullying is another story. Pressuring Trek to end its relationship with Le Mond Bicycles is hard to forgive.

    Lance, you’re focusing the anger we feel on your doping when it’s all about how you destroyed people to protect yourself and your lie, and you haven’t made it right with them still to this day. You think you have, but you really haven’t.

    Why would you celebrate a guy who used his influence to bully and destroy lives. At the end of the day no one cares that he cheated, but we should care about how he treated other people.

      I think it's clear to say he might be a narcissist, to be fair ones mental health is something that cannot be controlled and quite possible hormone balances would have been affected by drug use, to answer your question I think people are interested in lance because they want to understand what high level sport is like, in reality sport is extremely cut threat, big buissnes men everywhere, they are encouraged to act out and now from lances mistake we can get a insight into what it takes to be a high level athlete

      Steve Porter By the way, just whose life did he destroy??? Lemond is doing great, Betsy is getting the attention she always wanted, etc... Who exactly are you referring to? You say he tried to destroy lives, but they actually struck the first blow by trying to out him as a doper which would, of course, ruin his life. So really he was trying to defend what he felt was rightly his. I'm no Lance Armstrong fan, but I try to look at the big picture, and I just don't see him as quiet as bad as some folks make him out to be.

    • @DrumGPearl
      @DrumGPearl 9 лет назад +1

      +Steve Porter You know they are friends now, right? They text back and forth about life, his kids and she asks for his advice and opinions about things. So, if she's forgiven him, whats the problem?

    • @user-zx1ir7jt4c
      @user-zx1ir7jt4c 9 лет назад

      If Lance loses the government whistleblower case he will probably lose pretty much everything he owns. I wonder if people will still hate the guy then? Surely Floyd Landis doesn't deserve that money. He was a lying doper too, but he will become rich beyond his wildest dreams if the case is won by the govt.

    • @DrumGPearl
      @DrumGPearl 9 лет назад +3

      I hope he doesn't lose the case. I am tired of Lance being the ONE man who has to pay for all cyclists sins from 1999 to present. It's complete bullishit. He shouldn't have to take that burden alone. That entire generation is guilty.

    The central lesson to be learned from the entire Lance Armstrong debacle: Don't Be A Jerk. The truth is that if Lance had simply been a nicer person, more humble, and less arrogant he would still "officially" be a 7 time TdF winner, a pseudo-celebrity, and perhaps raising lots of money for charities. So there ya go boys and girls: Follow the Golden Rule and everything else will take care of itself.

    • @colinmontgomery1956
      @colinmontgomery1956 4 года назад +1

      The central lesson should be don't cheat in professional sports and attempt to absolutely destroy lives of people who suspect that you are.

    Dan,only out of childlike curiosity, how did Lance personally sit with you at the time of the interview and what would the "ceremonial"hanging of the yellow jersey and it's corresponding disquisition be and sound like.
    The questions asked by you were excellent and we're answered with equal and heartfelt excellence.
    Great interview.
    Stripped of the yellow dress, funny as hell.

    If all you see when you look at Lance Armstrong is a "doper" then that's really sad. He has been through living hell -- whether he brought it on himself or not is irrelevant -- and is very mentally tough with an ungodly amount of heart. All he did was beat other people who "doped" as well. He still overcame cancer, inspired millions, and would have LAID DOWN HIS LIFE to win at his craft. Also, he is very intelligent and well-spoken. Go after some of the politicians ruining our country or give the tax dollars to the homeless if you want to help this country. Don't spend it "defrauding" someone who inspired so many.

    Lance is hard not to like, seems like a cool dude on the surface. I wish he didn't posses the coldness and ruthlessness in his character that allowed him to hurt, deeply disrupt and ruin peoples livelyhoods to keep his secrete. Maybe he's the perfect competitor because of it and without it none of us would have ever known the name Lance Armstrong?

    I just think Lance is right on about the media, they will try and hold back the argument of what should be legal, this discussion should be fact and health based. If HGH is shown to have little to no long-term health affects then why not allow athletes and normal people alike to use it if it is beneficial?

    • @srivaddadi1
      @srivaddadi1 9 лет назад

      Because the reason steroids are banned is because roids help increase the body's hormones to SUPER PHYSIOLOGICAL levels, something supplements dont do

    • @squidlesfiddles
      @squidlesfiddles 9 лет назад

      What do you know about HGH? Doctors administer it to patients in varying degrees for varying reasons.....are doctors wrong? Do they know what they're doing?..... HGH is a medicine and supplement of the future, and in 30 years we will literally laugh at people like you who ever questioned using HGH to maximize performance.

    • @srivaddadi1
      @srivaddadi1 9 лет назад

      Andrew Sundberg First off? Your argument itself was severely flawed since we're talking of athetic performance and not of medical uses . Secondly, FDA lists approved and unapproved reasons to consume HGH.If the drug was used for reasons other than approved, which can be determined by examining medical records, that is a violation of the law.Thirdly, anecdotal evidence of the side effects of HGH make it a last resort drug and will not be used extensively and definitely not as OTC supplement.

    • @squidlesfiddles
      @squidlesfiddles 9 лет назад

      You are taking a snapshot in time right now, which I didn't mention did I?.....Nope, I said in 30 years it will used commonly for a variety of reasons and people like you will be thought of like those who used to deny that the world was round.

    • @srivaddadi1
      @srivaddadi1 9 лет назад

      Andrew Sundberg I dont deny its use.As a science student and a future medical professional, I will support its use for the right reasons.But i disagree that it'll be used for a "variety" of reasons.It'll be like Testosterone and EPO:Limited use for limited reasons and often only in extreme circumstances.
