It's a good budget setup but it's a long way off from what some of the pros are using. My plan is to slowly keep upgrading piece by piece but for now it's getting the job done decently!

Good looking rig with the spread axle trailer. When those 4 wheelers stop 6 feet past that white line that's when you hook there front bumper with your trailer bumper and spin em around, lol. That was a great show HL79 with lots of nice looking views. I don't know where you get your horn sounds but they sound good compared to the turds I have.

I'm using just the stock horns (or the horn that comes with the Kriechbaum sound mod). I have noticed in the last week that all of a sudden I'm getting grinding noises when shifting through the low side of the gears which is weird.....and I turned off the "float" setting since it wasn't working too well so I'm not sure what's causing it since the clutch is getting fully depressed?
Also now that I think of it there's 2 different horn buttons in the mapping, one for the air horn and one for the regular car-type horn.....maybe you're mapped to the car one?
@@HammerLane79 Your right and I've tried them both. One has no sound and the other sounds like a Prius. I had some great sounding horns till Fmod was released.

I think it was dumb luck that I turned out that way to be honest!......I didn't do anything special except play with the custom paint colors in ATS until I found one that I liked. I think this was just from the regular custom paint section instead of the metallic custom paint but it's been a while since I made the video and don't remember 100% anymore.

I have the shifter programed to shift exactly like a real 18 speed in a truck so the gears don't match what's written on the Thrustmaster shifter......it takes a little getting used to but it's very realistic

Videos are awesome, trucks are awesome. I read as much as I could to find the wheel setup and well as the shifter. I apologize in advance for asking what you have have answered hundreds of times lol. But I'm going to drop some good cash on a great setup. Any pointers?
Murda Moe it's a question I think about daily since I'm probably going to upgrade some of my gear but the prices start to add up real quick! At first I wasn't 100% sure I'd enjoy it so I didn't want to spend a lot up front but also didn't want to get garbage equipment either.
For the wheel the Logitech G29 is a solid performer for the price, I've looked at lots of reviews and yes it's gear driven (instead of belt) and not perfectly accurate but unless you're trying to be competitive in some racing series I don't feel it impacts you at all playing games like ATS. I probably will upgrade at some point to a Thurstmaster or Fanatec wheel and pedals but more for personal want (not true need).
For the shifter I've read that the Logitech is very cheap feeling (I've never personally used it). The Thrustmaster Shifter I have is rock solid made out of metal and so far works great and I probably won't upgrade this in the future even if money wasn't an issue. The Fanatec shifter looks very nice but the shift pattern seems like it would be strange for ATS since it doesn't have a position for "L/L". The good thing is there seems to be high demand for all of this equipment right now so worst case if you lose interest you could sell and not lose a lot of money on it.

I've been pretty consistent in playing lately, and your videos help with the cam setups that help with the turning and well just getting the most out of the angels and what not. I'm sure you hear it a lot but keep on going with the videos, because us newbies need all of the help we can get :)

When I use this mod in my game I get lag in the first person POV is their any fix? The lag is not bad but when your used to the game being flawless its not that great.
Brant I haven't really noticed any lag but I'm also using a laptop so everything might be somewhat lagged......maybe I'm just used to it!

@krisjato thanks, I haven't used this truck in a few years but a very similar option is the free Haterbilt by Hatreyu Gaming; he has a channel on here with directions to his page to download the truck

In this video I'm using the Kriechbaum Megapack sound mod and the engine is the CAT 3406.....personally I think this is the best sounding engine in the game to date
I also use the "Robinicus Combined Engines Pack" from STEAM at times which also has some good sounds.....I keep them both in my folder.
Could someone help me out. How do you choose a good engine for a truck I like a lot of torque (2,050 +). But it seems when I get a lot of torque the trucks do not have much rpm (1,200 1,500). I like torque but I also like rpm.
I use this mod called cat 625hp for any truck and I love the engine but it sounds not as cool as some of these other mods I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me. Because when I used the n14 I felt it was slower than my cat because it could not go as high in rpm.

Brant, I'm a big fan of the "Kriechbaum Mega Pack", I think it has the best sounds in the game currently....great turbo whistles and accurate sounding jake brakes.
The power is good with heavy loads and an 18 speed and has plenty of RPM range.

Hunter Brown thank you........for this truck all I did was pick a green that I liked from the paint options in the game. There's normally 2 custom paint options to pick from (regular or metallic).....I just picked a regular and tried different greens until I was happy with it.

@@hunterbrown2538 It's been a while since I built this truck but I believe it was the non-metallic.....the metallic has like 3 different paint colors mixed together to make it change in the sun.

@@Sukhrehal5 It should be on the common ATS mod sites, I've seen mods for both versions so just make sure you use the 1.38 mod
@@Sukhrehal5 I'm a big fan of Kriechbaum but it doesn't always work on all of the mod trucks. I'd suggest disabling all other sound mods and then try to find it on a truck it's listed to work on.

I'm using a Thrustmaster TH8A shifter that I installed a small USB "Range/Splitter" with 2 switches.....I have links to them if you scroll down some in the description you can see some better pictures of what it looks like.
I've been using it for around a year now and so far I'm very happy with it since I also play racing games and couldn't have a big clunky shifter

Seal it was actually just a random green I picked when building the truck that should work on all trucks in the game.... It was dumb luck but I really like the shade of it!

A G this was an older video but the latest game version has an air suspension option that you can raise or lower both the front and rear suspension with a key you set up

This is a mod based on the Viper2 389 that's on Steam......this mod is called 389 Long Hood where it changes the hood lines to be more accurate to a real Peterbilt. The Viper is an awesome mod but the hood lines seem to short and sloped compared to a real Extended Hood Pete

I've done a few videos where I float but I like to keep the "truck volume setting" high so viewers can hear the air brakes and other realistic sounds clearly but that also means that if you don't hit the shift perfectly you get massive grinding noises that starts to get old so I stopped

@@relamor112 sure thing, also make sure you're using mods that match the game version you're playing......I'm on 1.39 so if I try using a mod from a different version it likely won't work correctly since the game has changed.

How do you get a rar file to the mod manager?
Milla The Rapper you'll need to unzip the file, then you can move it over to the mod folder for the game. There should still be a few videos on here that walk through the steps to help you out

Steam is the easiest since all you need to do is subscribe to the mod......there's also some mod websites that have a lot more truck options to pick from. There's a few videos out there that show how to install them if you go that route.

For a free Peterbilt I'd recommend either the Viper2 on Steam or the Haterbilt.....check out some of my recent videos for links to the Haterbilt 👍

Joseph there are livestock trailers in the base game but I normally use mod trucks and trailers; most of my newer videos have links in the description to what I'm using to give you some ideas of options free and paid
