INB4 anyone says I'm trash; I tried to be "cinematic" with my gameplay, hence why I'm playing like an NPC lol. Lmk what y'all agree with/disagree with, but make sure to keep everything constructive. Also, huge shoutout to HaloCompletionist for letting me use his clips! check out his channel for guides on literally any Halo achievement you need.
Finally someone who gives the Library the credit it is due. The Library is one of the levels I return to the most in the series just because it holds a consistent difficulty the entire time. Aside from the elevator rides, you are constantly under attack; often from every direction. It’s stressful, hectic, and confusing and that’s why I love it. The only thing I’d change in the order you presented is that I would swap Two Betrayals and Assault on the Control Room. I find the repetitive interiors that are a drag in AotCR are made more enjoyable with the combat loop change following the introduction of the Flood and the Sentinels turning hostile.
AOTCR is repetitive yes, but I think that, contextually, Two Betrayals is worse because you’re literally doing it again with the only change being different enemy encounters
My big issue with it is it's boring. The entire mission is a hallway with a few diet firefight holdouts. Funny enough, I've seen mods that do the level quite well. Ruby's Rebalanced and the SPV3 mods both turn the Library into something awesome. They split the level up by some standout visuals that keep me engaged.
@@maxonee13in that case, I take two betrayals because at least the engagements are made interesting. You can fight the flood, covenant, or let them kill eachother. AOTCR is very one dimensional imo
Even if this had been your first video, references to things like all the antics you can spend hours doing on Silent Cartographer (getting out of the map under the ocean like a submarine, going time after time trying to get in the door before it closes, trying to get that warthog past that tree sideways, the Warthog Jump ofc) reassures me that you have the same Halo brain worms as me. Mine are from childhood, but hey. As for your selections, I was surprised to see something so iconic as Truth and Reconciliation on the bottom, but I completely understand your logic for all these choices and I really enjoyed watching this list. Also yeah, apparently the UNSC made like twenty-five good shotguns, ever, issued them all to the Pillar of Autumn and no other ships or units, and then switched to printing civilian hunting shotguns instead for budgetary reasons. No wonder we were having trouble with these aliens.
Truth & Rec is interesting to me because I remember the mission fondly whenever I think about it, but actually playing it feels like such a chore to me. And uh only 25 shotguns? Every combat form in the Library would like to have a discussion with you
4:38 The ‘Two Betrayals’ are, 1. Master Chief betrays Guilty Spark by keeping the Index and not activating the Ring. 2. Guilty Spark betrays Chief by ordering the Sentinels to attack him.
These videos are really incredible dude! The quality on these made me think you'd been making these for at least a year, but you've started just recently!
I rarely comment since being on RUclips but great job so far, looking forward to new videos! But in response to 'Two Betrayals', it was supposed to be that 343 Guilty Spark reveals the true purpose of Halo, AND Cortana goes rampant with power and tries to take control of Halo changing the rest of how the game plays. This was cut for reasons beyond me, but the lead developer, forgot his name, decided that this was a change that needed to be made for the original game, but left the mission name the same. There's an interview about it somewhere on the internet. Maybe a video on weird changes made to Halo would be a good video idea too, apart from the Halo challenges. In any case, I hope to see more, keep it up!
I personally like Keyes because of the flood vs covenant fights. Sitting back watching the two hunters fight a horde of flood is something I always do.
That ending was so good to hear, I've felt the same way for some time now and I just want to talk about what I love about halo and hear what other people love about it.
I might be the only person in existence who dosent care for Silent Cartographer. I always preferred Assault and Two Betrayas because I love the winter theme much more, I like the combat sandbox more in both vehicles, your interactions with marines are more fun, etc. SC is fine but I never replayed it as much as Assault or TB.
Comment after watching: Good video, I understand your choices. 343GS's line "last time" is actually a hint that Forerunners were actually ancient humans, algonside his "our history" line in The Maw. The Forerunner trilogy book was written a decade later by someone who didn't work on Halo and is incoherent with established lore.
@Scarlet Dani bungie made it established lore in the halo 3 terminals that forerunners and humans were separate, 343 had nothing to do with that decision
An observation I made, on level 2: Halo, I believe the reason the Forerunner buildings shoot bolts of energy into the sky is a clever way of showing you where the marines are, rather than having a flare shooting through the sky. More facts: on Level 2: Halo when you come out the other side of the 'unnatural formation' and go to the crashed escape pod in the middle area, one of the marines will comment on it saying something along the lines of 'That's strange their equipment is still here, but where are the bodies?' The marine will say something different depending on the marine. On Level 10: The Maw when you come out of the bridge and go into the room the Flood comes from there are Assualt Rifles laying all over the floor that have no ammo or very little ammo.
The reason for that last bit was later explained in the book that the UNSC from Alpha Base on the ring went back to The Autumn, looted that armory and left. Though originally, I would've liked to imagine the Flood were scavenging weapons for their own sake.
Also, when you commented on having the sniper rifle in the Covenant ship, I instantly thought of the ODST opening line, and I'm so glad you put that clip there!
You know when looking at the video title I had a completely different order in off the top of my head but the way you laid out the video at the end I really agreed with your order truly glad I found your Channel!
I played the whole game as a kid and was terrified by the flood levels. I recently replayed the game and the only thing that has changed is my love for the magnum
Halo fans pretending to be different by saying “actually library is better than you think.” Meanwhile devs: yea idk why we made that level so long it sucks
honestly man Halo is my favourite game series of all time, and up there with my favourite fictional universes of all time. I replaced Reach last week and cried. Halo has such a powerful base with the trilogy and odst/reach that even hating the more recent games doesn't ruin the originals for me.
Your videos are funny and cool, it's not often you meet someone who has similar views to you 💜 CE is a blast, my first mission was actually silent cartographer I distinctly remember the pelicans loaded with marines storming the beach it was so fun I remember forcing the warthog down the funnily shaped hallway to let the marines light up the zealot 343 guilty spark is my most favourite too, the game is flipped on it's head from the usual song and dance of the covenant The helmet flashback is like something out of Ghost Recon in the early 2000s, I was really into zombies as a kid (who am I kidding I still am) so the flood was a fresh take as it was a hivemind that used guns and vehicles and only got scarier with the lore and terminals I hope the Flood returns at some point they're *The* bad guy...girl...entity?
Loved the video and well I could guess you can love it from the video. And well I do as well. Literally grew up with it since ce. So idk about most but I will always love the game because of what it had. As with the rankings you know I'd have the library a bit higher. Just the relentlessness of it really gets you to hate the flood (in a good way). And personally I have to have truth and rec higher by far, the outside sniper section with one of my favourites pieces, under the cover of night out weighs the rest. And didn't mind most of the inside. But the rest I agree with. Keep up the good work
I remember first playing CE when I was 5 years old. I just couldn’t get through 343 guilty spark. When the cutscene played and the marines started getting attacked by the popcorn flood I had to stop. Took me 3 years later to boy up and get through it. Felt so good. Like nothing could scare me after beating halo ce.
great video, man! i agree with you mainly except i think halo should be lower on the list because while the opening scene is immersive and breathtaking, i think the objective for the rest of the mission of saving marines is tedious. other than that keep the videos coming! we can truly see you love halo like us
Really surprised with the placement of The Library. Pretty much everyone I know says it's the worst mission, but I enjoy it (only because I like slaughtering hordes of Flood)
Honestly, I know what you mean about the library. When playing through it I did feel something particular, and now that I think about it, it was a bit dark souls like. That level was the first time I put myself in Chief's shoes and thought "holy fuck, this is terrifying, how do I ever even get out of here". I don't know if you ever played the Metro games, but that's also kind of a similar feeling.
Comment before watching: I personally put Two Betrayals at the bottom, while Silent Cartographer and The Maw are in the top. I like The Library, since it's mostly blasting space zombies with a shotgun. And I find it less a chore than T&R or Two Betrayals.
I’ve played all of the Bungie Halo’s already as an adult upon release, and over the last 23yrs, I’ve played the Halo ce missions dozens & dozens times, including just recently, I do agree with you on a couple of things, (1) That the Library is overhated, and I would put Keys as the worst mission, and I would put Silent Cartographer & Assault On the Control Room as my top 2. Pillar of autumn. Basically the tutorial level of the game. Though it’s a cool set up showing how threatening the covenant is. 7.silent cartographer. Definitely the level with the most freedom although the last section heading underground is not my favourite. You can easily get lost 6. Keyes. Love seeing the massive war going on as the covenant are throwing everything they can to make sure the flood do not take over the ship. It shows that it’s more important for the covenant to stop the flood than stop chief. They know how big of a threat the flood are. 5. Halo. Love the big open area with freedom on which squad you save first. Also a perfect introduction to halo and the massive area blew me away when I was 5 years old 4. Assault on the control room. Love the massive fights and the scorpion never gets old to me 3. The library. Weird pick this close but this level is stressful. You never get a break. man your content is amazing, it has been a long time since ive seen videos this good 20/10

Ima keep waiting for that next video no matter how long it takes
"personally, i think halo is a pretty cool guy, he kills aliens and doesn't afraid of anything."
I love when the master chief says "Its master chief time"
Then he chief’d all over those guys
I like when he says, "Find the ring, win the war."
It’s chiefin time
and then he busted some fat nuts all over everyone impregnating the covenant ending the war with peace and love
Then he turned to the camera and said King Kong can shit on me

343 guilty spark is my most favourite too, the game is flipped on it's head from the usual song and dance of the covenant
The helmet flashback is like something out of Ghost Recon in the early 2000s, I was really into zombies as a kid (who am I kidding I still am) so the flood was a fresh take as it was a hivemind that used guns and vehicles and only got scarier with the lore and terminals
I hope the Flood returns at some point they're *The* bad guy...girl...entity?

You Should Do More Of Halo Ranking Missions
I keep thinking guilty spark sounds like C3PO because I've never heard him
Didn't know there was a seige of madrigal in assault on the control room
We need more videos
Commenting because I’m really hoping to see another challenge run. Hope RUclips is kind to ya.
Good video
I’ve played all of the Bungie Halo’s already as an adult upon release, and over the last 23yrs, I’ve played the Halo ce missions dozens & dozens times, including just recently, I do agree with you on a couple of things, (1) That the Library is overhated, and I would put Keys as the worst mission, and I would put Silent Cartographer & Assault On the Control Room as my top 2. Truth and Reconciliation would be mid tier, definitely not the worst. I would likely put the Library as the 2nd worst, not sure where the others would fall in at the moment. You should do a no units lost video on halo wars 2
the libary is deadass a gungrave level
Truth and Reconciliation is worse than the library? Bruh
Yes. The library is tedious. The T&r is exceedingly difficult
Have you tried Ruby's Rebalance Mod on CE?
Try it its gonna change your opinion/perspective on each level!
Its the most popular Mod on the Workshop atm.
Would be cool if you played and reviewed it!
Nice
I feel like master chiefs voice was much higher pitch in CE compared to the rest of the game its almost like during CE was when he hit puberty or something, honestly it kind of makes sense, master chief was maybe only 19 or 20 during CE he's like 55 in halo infinite
What? He was 41 During the Events of CE
Bro Halo CE is less than a Decade before infinite
I only ever get upset at halo because I love it so much
Whoa...T&R being the bottom and not The Library 😅
Also, on the OG at least....if you take all the Marines into the silent cartographer structure they will survive.
Have to be right down by the doors those, anywhere else and they perish still.
You gotta start uploading More man
whilst I enjoyed the ambience of 343 guilty spark I'll admit that the sprawling tunnels went on a bit too long for my liking. Though I wholeheartedly agree that the execution was excellent.
Wow my worst to best is kinda different. This is my most replayed game of all time so I love all levels but my top 10 would be
10. The maw. Not a big fan of the time limit. The section where you have to throw grenades into the reactor sucks. And I am not huge into the driving plus it’s the end of the game which sucks
9. Truth and reconciliation. Prob the toughest mission IMO tons of times where the enemy has the high ground which makes the level more annoying. And it’s very linear. Although it is really cool to enter the ship itself. I love seeing the architecture of the covenant. The obsession of the colour pink and purple everywhere feels so alien. Plus it’s prob the mission you get the most marines which is cool.
8. Pillar of autumn. Basically the tutorial level of the game. Though it’s a cool set up showing how threatening the covenant is.
7.silent cartographer. Definitely the level with the most freedom although the last section heading underground is not my favourite. You can easily get lost
Also a perfect introduction to halo and the massive area blew me away when I was 5 years old
4. Assault on the control room. Love the massive fights and the scorpion never gets old to me
3. The library. Weird pick this close but this level is stressful. You never get a break. I think it truly shows the horror of the flood and how overwhelming they can get.
2. 343 guilty spark. Obviously the perfect introduction to any enemy faction ever in a videogame. The flood
1. Two betrayals. Prob my most replayed level. The only level you really get to use the banshee. Love the dark cold winter ambience through the level. Plus the ending section I would always watch the covenant and flood fight each other all the time. Plus that last fight I find kind of a fun challenge.
I have to be Devils advocate, You said on your Silent Cartographer ranking that it was the first mission that you could explore, But yet Halo is the first large open mission that you can actually explore, right?
TnR at the bottom is wicked based
Yes
please do a halo wars 2 vid!!
I thought Two Betrayals is the best. The Final Run is really cool. Also, you can skip a certain level by jumping off the bridge and sliding down the mountain
The library on legendary really isn’t as bad as halo 2 snipers. One takes 45 minutes the other is the whole game😅
Hey bro you alive?
Those who hate library simply need to get good.
I can't believe you rated the library this highly, I think it's the worst level despite agreeing with your praise, Halo CE is just that good I guess.
But as someone who plays legendary exclusively I hate how flood will one-shot you with several weapons from long range. This is the reason why I find it so frustrating, and the same reason why I have issues with all flood levels. It's just exacerbated in the library by the incredibly cramped corridors which means someone randomly spawning with a shotgun is a done deal for you and a reload, and you can end up fighting tooth and nail to get a checkpoint only to get fucked because two meters from one, some piece of shit flood spawns with a shotty and mollywhoops you for daring to exist.
Otherwise I pretty much agree with you.
Halo 2 please halo 2 please and halo 2 please
But can yo
1: The Silent Cartographer
2: 343 Guilty Spark
3: The Truth and Reconciliation
4: The Maw
5: Assault on the Control Room
6: The Pillar of Autumn
7: Halo
8: Two Betrayals
9: The Library
10: Keyes
This is the morally correct ranking.
