    I installed 12 of these today. Not really too difficult for the most part. They are a little pricey but I got a substantial discount and decided to make them part of my home office remodeling. The lighting is a little uneven and they are a bit dark at the center but overall they look good. If you are installing these, make sure to route the wiring as cleanly and as close to the top of the fixtures as possible or you will see the wires through the shades...

      mine frequently loses connection in the app. the first time was the most annoying where I was trying to troubleshoot with constant seizure inducing scene (since it was running last running/saved scene, even when i power cycle).

      Hey Nanoleaf, you don't get it. Your App is horrible. For such a great product, your App is so primitive. It needs work to keep things stable.

    That is a lot of drilling, and it can't be reconfigured easily. Not saying I will be purposely rearranging them a lot, but what if I didn't like the way I have it set up the first time.. I need to unmount, drill, anchor, mount again?

    Please pre twist the wires before putting on the wire nut. It makes for a more solid connection

    Curious, why couldn’t you do this with the other light panels? As long as you wire it down the wall it’s pretty much the same thing?

    •· is it a bit messy to have 4 screws for *each piece* of 300x300m light-weight panel? 🤔 can users have options to simply secure the main panel with 4 screws & attach the rest of our other panels, if not many, just to the main panel without further screws (for every single panel) on ceiling? // There’ll be numerous deep holes on ceiling few yrs later when we remove the nanoleaf after it breaks. Any insights? 🤔 if this issue can be fixed, we’ll consider purchasing some too, as we love nanoleaf since day 1, lots of great products we got & are still working 💛 more power to the team 🇨🇦🫶🏻 much love from Hong Kong (any voucher/coupon?) xoxo, Cheers💡

      I would use a thin piece of plywood or other material and screw the other panels to that. The main panel (power) would go to the electrical box. Potential for flexing away from the ceiling but I use that setup on my wall and it works well. I’d recommend adding at least a couple more screws depending on how big you make it

      It’s so ridiculous to drill four holes for a single panel…especially in Hong Kong, all about concrete ceiling…

      Make sure you’re connected to a 2.4ghz network (4g) and not a 5ghz (5g) network my brother. That should fix it.

    Aligning the panels to your design is incredibly difficult, the drywall anchors provided are not adjustable in their position, meaning you have to ensure perfect alignment at each step. You have to ensure that alignment prior to mounting the skylight because the anchors need to be screwed in first. The instructions regarding the drywall anchors are not clear, but obviously you must screw in the white plastic anchor to the wall, place the skylight on the ceiling aligned with the anchor, and then screw in the metal screw provided through the skylight hole you drilled out and into the anchor.
    The instructions say this is suitable for 1 or 2 people, but if you need to align multiple skylights and parallel to something like another wall, you must have 2 people to verify alignment

      It's designed to be hung from a standard ceiling outlet box so you're probably going to need an electrician to install one. I don't really see another practical way.

      @@johnryder8008I want to install this in the place of a recessed light (with standard 6" recessed light housing can) so i don’t have an outlet box, could the control panel be installed without the center support and rely only on the ceiling attachments?

  • @USONOFAV
    @USONOFAV 8 месяцев назад +1

    Dang I was hoping installation would be easy by securing only one panel connected to the main ceiling wire and the rest will be snap on to the side with strong double adhesive tape. So if you have 20 panels you will be drilling 80 times? I should have watched this first before pre-ordering 9 panels 🤦

      You will only need to drill if mounting on plaster. They provide drywall screws for drywall. You also need a drill to remove the knockouts on the controller panel only

    So I have a ceiling fan, how do I add with this?

    • @Seriousting
      @Seriousting 8 месяцев назад

      Hire an electrician. There will be a line and a dedicated load wire that will be for the fan control. You will have to share the line (hot) to power the ceiling fan and the nano leaf. And just wire up their respective loads as normal.

      While I agree your general statement here. I feel the lack of polish is the real sticking point here. No matter / thread control (which was advertised in the preview), odd hot spots, complicated installation process, no dimmer switch solution, no 5GHz support, community screaming about connection issues, etc.. For this premium price point I feel peoples complaints are justified.
      BUT as someone who's eager to replace their 1.3k pendant light above their dining room with this solution - I agree with you to a point... either way, it's sad this is so unpolished.
