Another great local hidden gem video, I can’t wait to make a trip! Also, congratulations on 60K!🎉
Thanks Sarah!
Hi from the UK. Binge watched all your LA eats. Always room for more. ❤ Your videos are a great way to unwind in the evening. Love and hugs to you both x
Awesome! Thank you!

@@billandlisa)
Love you two. You look like you enjoy your family, your trips, and most of all, each other.
Thanks so much, Janine.
Congrats on 60k! Love all the adventures. Seeing all the travel helps keep me going. I'm hoping to find a job that allows me to branch out and go beyond a stay cation in my apartment haha. But for now can't can't wait to see where you all go to next.
Thank you so much!
The way you both describe the food is brilliant. It's close to being poetic from time to time. Way more interesting, educational and entertaining than just watching a regular muckbang eating video.
Thank you, Laurie!
Great portions looked delicious !! Loved the desserts too!! you both make the best videos with all the great choices you select to present !! 🤗🤗❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Heading to Hawaii early next year so this is so helpful. Most of all - I love you both call each other baby. So sweet
You'll have a great time!
bebe

Awesome! Thank you!
Onolicious Eats !!! Bill & Lisa Mahalo for sharing ! Hawaii Style Local grinds !
You're very welcome!
Oooooh that crispy pork, Cha Siu and roasted duck all look devine! I added it to my Yelp favorites for the islands. And that shaved ice, oh my! 😍 I agree, the smoother the shaved ice, the better! And so perfect with ice cream and Mochi toppings! Thanks for taking us off “strip”! We plan to rent a car next time we are in Oahu so we can explore and try all the local eats. Mahalo for the great HI content Bill & Lisa! Happy early Father’s Day, Bill!! ❤❤❤Arlene
Thank you, Arlene! Yes, having a car lets you explore more eating places around the island, there's so many!
Watching in Como before going in search of dinner with the wife. You guys have me properly hungry now.
Definitely in my neighborhood! Wished I had run into you. You definitely found some of our gems. Kehau's started as a Hawaiian Food (laulau, kalua pork, haupia) place and has morphed into what it is now. You made me laugh when you went all the way to Waianae to get the shave ice after being in Pearlridge to get Kehau's. You did some driving for a couple of days ❤. Hopefully the marvels of editing helped cut down on your driving !😉 I think there is a combo with the hamburger and a saimin to choose from at Shiro's...next time you are in the area. Glad you enjoyed yourselves!
well because they were staying at the Aulani, Kehau's not too far away in Nanakuli (beginning district of Waianae).
You two are simply adorable together ❤ 😊
😊 thank you
Happy Sunday ✨️ Omg, that char siu looks delish!! I want some now with steam rice and bean sprouts...😋
Happy Monday! Yes, good thing we had some rice under the roast duck. lol
Your love for life and each other is beautiful to see. Duck looks so good❤❤
Closest I've been to Waikiki in years is the Kaiser clinic in Downtown Honolulu. However, Waikiki is a Must Go place for first time visitors to Hawaii.
As an aside. Pre-Covid, I would go to Vegas several times a year; Downtown. Haven't been to the Strip since before the ferris wheel. Maybe around the time I last went into Waikiki!
Luv your videos!
I'm surprised you never heard of gau gee. It's a staple in Cantonese restaurants in Hawai'i. We eat it with noodles and dim sum, on mixed plates and pūpū platters, etc. Is it a Hawaiʻi Chinese creation?
I believe Gau Gee is localized to Hawaii, have not seen them elsewhere.
Yeah Hello 👋🏽 Bill & Lisa 😊Happy Sunday❤
Happy Monday, Christine!
THANKS FOR SHARING THESE AMAZING PLACES WITH ALL THE DELICIOUS FOOD AND DESSERTS 😋😋😋. KEEP UP THE MAGNIFICENT WORK BILL AND LISA👍🏼😁👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you, Tracey!
60K!!!! Let’s go 70…. Congrats 🎉
I used to work at Starbucks Aiea Shopping Center from 2003 to 2006.
Hey Lisa, the local places are soo nice👍😻🍀. The desert looks incredible 🎉😎. I hope your trip was wonderful & you missed the volcano action. Always good to see you.
Thank you so much!!
You guys know how to eat like locals! I think the Shiro's dashi might be kombu (seaweed) based with dried ebi (shrimp). That's how my mom used to make our saimin. ❤ Glad you guys had another great trip here! 🤙🌺🤙
Yes, maybe, it was delicious. Thanks so much for watching!
Aloha Bill and Lisa 🌺 Omg! You are making me so hungry! Roast chicken, Roast duck, Char sir and Roast Pork. Yummy! 😋😋 That shave 🍧 ice looks so refreshing with the mochi balls in Nanakuli 😋 Then more food at Shiro’s, 🍜 🍔 with won ton. okay now I’m stuffed. More shave ice 🍧. Mahalo Bill and Lisa! 😘❤️❤️❤️ 🤙🏽 You’re so awesome! Yes, please come back!
Thanks so much, Rebecca!
Love your Hawaii series, they are always my favourite! We can’t wait to go back to Oahu, missing it so much! Love the shave ice too! Thanks for taking us along, see you in the next one❤
Thanks so much!
That’s me… I always am so sad I have to leave. I love Hawaii ! Thanks for another great video!
You're welcome, Rosemary!
In the same strip mall with Shiros, is Baldwins sweet shop. And they serve shave ice,

I knows there’s Evening over there but there’s Morning over here. 🤠💜💜!!
A little hot mustard on chow fun is my favorite.
There's always great eateries away from the hotels, etc. Thanx for sharing and stay safe.
Yeah....local places way for affordable and I think usually more tasty eats! So many choices in Oahu and other islands too!
Going "Off Grid" can bring a lot of rewards. I see you have hit jackpot. I'll tell someone I know who comes from Aiea.

Hi Bill💚Lisa, good choice on Roast Duck & Char Siu. Wow‼️Didn’t know Gau Gee was only a Hawaii thing. 😮(Always had it and took it for granted).
Great video⭐️and that Poke nachos🤙, gotta try Aiea Bowl’s. (777 Las Vegas has a pretty good one too. Hit & Miss. )
And great way to top off your lunch🍧
Oh yes, Great Choices🌺🌺🌺
(Gotta try Palace Saimin. Local fave at a hole in the wall in Kalihi🤙)
Thanks Danni! Bookmarked Palace Saimin, thanks for the rec.
@@billandlisa hard to find parking there at Palace Saimin ... a few year ago my family went on a 'who's saimin broth is the tastiest???' which included Palace, the other place across the street by Diners, Shiro's, 2 other places and Zippy's. My son and ex-wife all came to same conclusion that Zippy's had the best tasting broth. I still remember Palace Saimin's broth being too weak for my taste... but everyone's tastes are different --- that I know...
Shiro's is on my list now, thanks guys, another great bowl of Saimin I've found is a place called Sekiyas restaurant and deli, it's close to Leonard's bakery, check it out next time you're in town
Shiro's Saimin.. Shiro Matsuo before he opened his Saimin shops was the personal chef for former Gov. John A. Burns at the Governor's Mansion directly across the State Capital building (Hawaii Governor in the 1960s to 1972 before Gov. George Ariyoshi.
Enjoyed as usual da v!deo 🤙
Another great saimin place is PALACE SAIMIN in Kalihi
You both really needed some beers with those poke nachos! Just sayin...😂
My husband and I love watching your videos
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽👼🏾❤️💥✨
Any time!
So happy I found your vlogs! Planning a first ever Oahu vacation and I’m taking notes! So glad you shared your Shave Ice texture experience! Information I didn’t know that I *needed* to know! That poke nacho looked amazing! I love poke, can’t wait to try it in Oahu! (We’re planning 5 days Aulani and a few days in Waikiki )
Welcome to our channel, Sandy! Happy to hear you're finding our HI vlogs helpful. You'll have a fantastic time!!
My mouth was watering over those poki nachos and roast duck. Another awesome foodie vlog away from the resort!!!
Thanks so much!!
Thank you Bill and Lisa. I’ve been watching all of your Holland Hawaii this last week. Today was my birthday it’s Debbie from Nebraska.
Happy birthday, Debra! Hope you had a great day!
Oh my brother watches you but doesn't leave comments...he was wondering if Lisa wanted to try the Aiea Bowl's restaurant, The Alley's oxtail soup on your next trip? I would recommend their lemon crunch cake. See ya on your next trip to Oahu.
We went to Aiea bowl several years ago, Lisa did get the oxtail soup, she liked it! We'll have to go back for an updated review, and get the lemon crunch cake!
You are truly kama'aina. You hit some of our local spots and hidden gems. Shiro's looked so good, we went yesterday and it was good as ever. Did they get one of your sticker's of approval? 😃Have you ever gone to Shige's Saimin Stand in Wahiawa? If you go to Wahiawa, you'll also have to get some pie from Tanya's Pie and Grill. Waipahu also has a lot of good eats.
We didn't have our stickers with us, have to start carrying them around. lol. Yes, been to Shige's a while back, will have to revisit them again, and get some pie! Thanks for the rec.
Aloha again 😊 my cousin lives in waipahu and she loves the food and said she couldnt imagin living on the mainland. Everything about hawaii seems so nice!!!❤ the shave ice looked soo good. !!! i hope to visit my cousin one day and try some shave ice !!!! My cousin eats at Shiro’s all the time and loves it !!! Cheeseburger at a ramen place 😂😂 glad your enjoying hawaii 😊
Thanks Beverly! Hope you get to visit your cousin one day, you’ll love the food!
Hi B ill . Hi Lisa. All the food you tried looks so yummy. Hope you are having a great vacation. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Jackie!
Great video! Next time try char siu teriyaki sandwich at Shiro’s
Kamakazi nacho’s blew my mind ❤❤❤
My wife said you guys should try the mana bowl at the health bar near Kapiolani Community College.
Loved this video! You guys definitely went to some ono spots! Roast duck kitchen is one of my favorites. Glad it wasn't too busy when you guys went.
Mililani restaurant's chicken katsu plate is a must try, gyotaku's shrimp tempura, katsumidori for a higher end sushi option. My daughters are always so excited when your video comes on. @bill you look just like their papa haha. Hope to meet you guys one day! 😊
Thanks for all the recs, Kristine! Hope that's a good look! lol!
I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing
Thanks Deborah!
Personal fave @ Shiro's is Do Don Pa. But maybe living in Close proximity to Shige's...they're my Go-To...Hands Down. FYI....Shige's started out in 1960s in Haleiwa, where Cafě Haleiwa is. Different times/location but Tasty Memories....IRREPLACEABLE/UNFORGETTABLE
love shiros . i always get the #55 large saimin with veg and won tun with a hula burger on the side. 😊 If you guys ever visit chinatown area and feel like eating Pho. "Pho Tochau) on river street, truly a legendary spot. best pho on the island. #9 combination pho.
Thanks for the rec, Phil!
At the end of the shaved ice. I finish mine with vodka and a straw.
Nice Anthony! lol!
Oh my gosh, you are in my hometown of Aiea. They have ono kine grinds there.
Yes! Great foods for sure!
Aloha Bill and Lisa: You did an excellent vlog on this day! The food choices you presented got to me “big-time,” because I miss the comfort food of char siu, roast pork belly, roast duck and the gau-gee which is a large wonton-wrapper filled with pork wonton filling (a Chinese-Hawaiian speciality). The Mexican-Hawaiian fusion nacho was unique and must have been a great culinary treat. Shiro’s Saimin Haven brought back a lot of great memories - I still remembered the founder well, “Mr. Saimin (Shiro Matsuo) as a great man! Great vacation vlog. Looking forward to the next great adventure vlog! Best wishes and much 🧧! 🤙
Thank you, Bill! Yes, it was a great foodie trip for sure. We know there's a big debate who's better, Shiro's or Shige's, but you really can't go wrong with either (we had Shige's before), both have great saimin, beef teri sticks, and cheeseburgers. That said, we'll give Shige's some love next time!
Everything looks so delicious!!! Looking at the shaved ice would make me want to carry around a set of silverware. I would gain 100 lbs if I lived there.😆😆😆😆. Love to you both 😘😘
Thanks Glenda!
Char siu : Nam Fong > Roast Duck kitchen
Roast Pork : Roast Duck Kitchen > Nam Fong
Everything looked so good. I can’t wait to visit snd try the shaved ice. Tku both. Safe travels home🍧
Thanks Valerie!
FYI...My personal fave Not in WKK/HNL is Poke on Da Run in Pearl City. Maybe am Little bit prejudiced coz it's ohana!-lol....
Yummy Roast pork. With rice 🍚 ❤
Wow!! Big and bigger. Dinner not needed. Surprised you guys aren't passed out for a nap.
Great video.
When you had the poke nachos, there was a sign that looked like there was an upcharge for plastic cutlery. Do you know what it said?
Something about plastic out cutlery charge, didn't pay too much attention to it as we ate in.
Lisa's grey is so pretty.
Thank you, Vera!
The pork and poke nachos look good. duck looks good. I don’t workout enough
The food looks good . The pork looks bad for you .
I lift pizza , remote and iPhone
I need a snow cap haha ❤
Us too! lol
Have you guys been to Shokudos on Kapiolani? Excellent sushi!
Yes! Been several years, loved their Honey Toast too!
Hi Bill and Lisa! I just read that the busiest Costco in the world is in Hawaii, would you consider doing a video next time you are there??
Maybe! In the meantime, Sean from Hawaiian Traveler did a great job covering Costco, can watch it here.. ruclips.net/video/bAvC-tzEMfw/видео.html
Off strip eats is a great idea
Love Shiro's saimin
The saimin I had as a kid was mostly bonito flavored. Bill, I think you might correct since Shiro's has been around for a long time.
Baldwin is one of my favorite places to get shave ice because of the flavors.
I remember going Egss and Things when they were on Ena Road in Waikiki. Lot of construction workers went there, so the portions were huge.
Roast Duck Kitchen is my go-to place on this side of the island. Try the fried rice next time. You have to go early to get the duck, roast pork, and char siu. Otherwise, they might have roast chicken only, which is also good. Yeah, I didn’t realize gau gee was a local thing. I guess we always had it, I thought it was everywhere. Do you have cake noodles where you live?
Good thing we went early to RDK, all the meats were available. Will have to try the fried rice next time. Not sure about the cake noodles, Lisa may know.
Their lunch plate price really went up!
Let's just say I cannot believe how much a McD Hawaii breakfast sandwich costs now !!! $5.49 for a egg sausage biscuit !
Happy Sundays
Happy Monday, Amos!
Yum roast duck is good 👍🏽
I do not drive so I look to what is walkable or buss-able from Waikiki. Any suggestions?
There are plenty of vlogs of eating places in Waikiki, even we have a few. lol. Just search 'Waikiki eats' and a lot should pop up.
@@billandlisa
Aloha Bill, my question was referring to if you guys can walk to any eateries which are not in Waikiki proper.
SORRY if I had not made that clearer.
@@SuiGenerisAbbie I'd say outside of Waikiki, you'll need a car, ride share, etc. as many places are just too spread apart. Hope this answers your question.
