- Edge stitching adds the perfect touch of finish to a project. While it can be tricky and yield less than perfect results with a plain presser foot, it is simplicity itself with the BERNINA Edgestitch Foot #10/10C/10D. And it makes for perfectly even stitching, effortlessly!
The same edge guide in the foot is great for stitch-in-the-ditch and edge joining applications too. If your machine has the BERNINA Dual Feed system, the #10D version of the foot lets you take advantage of the additional traction from the back of the foot, which helps track the edge in a straight line and makes the job even easier.

This was such a helpful video, thank you! I have a problem with using the #10 foot with my Bernina 350 PE i.e. the smaller, 5.5mm stitch width machine: I can't stitch away from the edge even a little. When the needle is moved all the way to one side, and I have the guide on the edge (just over the edge, barely), the line of stitching is SUPER close to the edge. Note that my purposes are to sew on bias tape binding. First I stitch in the ditch then I fold the bias tape over to the other side, pin down if needed then stitch along the far edge of the tape as most do. But usually it looks good if the stitches aren't hovering TOO close to the edge, you know? The only way to get the stitching a bit further in is to allow the guide to be on top of the fabric rather than off it. Is this okay? Do you have any other solutions? Thanks so much!
