I just found that same Canon model by a dumpster last night. Took it home and it had this exact error, but it was because the color cartridge wasn't fully clicked into place. I'm not sure if the printer works though as the black is empty, but I'll do a DIY refill or get a knock-off cartridge on Amazon. It's crazy how many printers are chucked just because it ran out of ink. It was a good thing someone was lazy/weak and didn't chuck it into the bin otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with it. Anyways, at least I'll know what to do if it ever gets a paper jam. ;)
@@sunshinemurphy7982 inside of the printer there is a I would say quarter inch wide looks like a plastic strip that goes from one side to the other side of the printer. I cleaned that off. Got new ink super crazy and now it works. I did call the repair shop and he said my printer was basically a disposable printer, but I was not giving up on it because I love all the features.
