There was a filler episode where Naruto, Shino and someone else have to go to a funeral of some rich guy and not to laugh, otherwise the heir who hired them will not get money as testament. Everyone was trying to make Naruto laugh and seeing him holding it was very entertaining
It was simply just Naruto and Shino, not a 3rd member. Shino was needed bc he was so serious all the time, so obv he wouldnt laugh Naruto was simply there as a filler member to make sure everything went well, nobody else was picked because everyone else was on missions.
I was just about to comment something like that, cuz I remember that being put in the manga a few times as a joke even if it wasn't an actual story. Still, it does very much seem like something they would do on their off time from missions.
The filler so legendary that it became half canon, they made a part two on ahippuden and the face revealing has been made by the original author Masashi Kishimoto.
Fillers in OG Naruto really hit different. They were basically stupid missions, but they’re also missions that genin usually take too. Better than shippuden’s filler which is just flashbacks
Shippuden filler arcs fail to be entertaining by trying to be too serious or trying too hard not to be filler. Meanwhile Naruto part 1 is mostly just lighthearted comedy episodes with some part of it being serious.

I hate being adult, I enjoy all of these episodes even if it's a filler. I hope Shippuden Managed well having filler episodes like the first season. Or should I say atleast they make these episodes canon.
The problem with Shippuden is that filler episodes were in the middle of the original storyline, unlike Naruto Part 1 where most fillers were after the main story ended. In addition, most fillers in Part 1 are episodic, slice-of-life mini adventures. You can watch them without worrying about anything outside that mini-story. It's kind of like watching a movie. Shippuden fillers were like trying too hard to NOT be fillers.
Not all the shippuden filler is bad. One arc even shows how the akatsuki captured the 3 tails when it was done off screen in the manga. The filler after the pain arc was rancid though. Bout fell out of my chair when i saw that ostrich. Imagine watching goku defeat frieza, then 5 episodes later he struggles to fight a wild animal. Nothingburger filler is the worst.
I, as an eighteen year old, wanted to get into anime and thought Naruto was a good place to start. I watched every filler because it was my first anime lol.
That ending is so relatable. I remember watching Bleach as a kid and falling asleep though so many episodes of the Bount arc. Of course Naruto was not much better, i basically skipped to Shippuden when i got to around EP 200 because of how boring it was. Thankfully shortly after that i discovered what fillers were and started to skip them unless they seemed somewhat interesting. But then eventually of course came another great evil: Waiting for the episode of the week only for it to be a filler...I swear i died inside when Ichigo was about to fight Ulquiorra and then a whole filler arc came out of nowhere.
The Bikochu Search Mission and Kurosuki Family Removal mission were actually very cool filler arcs. The "Old man sets up bombs" also had a great buildup. Just the end could leave one dissatisfied. And, before I forget, some of these filler seasons had very cool and nostalgic opening and ending themes, which could easily compete with the best canon arc ones.
Nah I like them. Like seriously, we get an entire arc where Naruto is strong without using the rasengan once. Hinata develops her own special technique and defeats an opponent that defeated Naruto. Ino uses the second technique of her clan which she didn't use in canon material. We get to see interesting team ups. We get to see a fight between Kakashi and a guy who was using tricks to copy Gara's jutsu. We get to see Gai and Rock Lee have an awesome match. And seriously, watch the curry of life arc.
I watched all of these hoping they’d finally go get Sasuke back, but then Naruto goes with Jiraiya for the timeskip which left me confused. I looked it up and was mortified to find out it was all filler. This was my first encounter with filler this big. No amount of Dragon Ball Z Garlic Jr could have prepared me for this garbage.
Looking at these comments, I'm starting to believe that I'm the only one who doesn't have a problem with fillers. xD I actually liked them. Not all of them were equally good, but I liked having them within the story. Yeah, there was little focus on the main plot, on the Akatsuki, on Sasuke whenever these were happening. But that's why I liked it. They helped time pass in the story, and it struck me as a good thing that it wasn't all just running after Sasuke. Kind of like "yeah, things happen but life goes on", Naruto and friends still have to serve the village and complete missions even after Sasuke is gone. Plus, chill parts help the dangerous and exciting bits shine imo. If everything was constant battle, excitement and danger, then nothing would be truly exciting. It would dull out after a while. I can only take so many "oh no what a terrible situation the main characters are in, what's gonna happen?!" episodes before I stop having a reaction to whenever characters are in a difficult spot.
It's really funny. When I was a kid, I stopped watching whenever filler came on. I didn't even know what filler was, I just knew by instinct it was filler because of how terrible it was. Though after Sasuke retrieval I DID put it on in the background when it aired on Saturday. Other than that, I stuck to weekday re-runs of old arcs.
NaruHina fans consider the Bikochuu Arc canon, because they actually get screentime: Naruto sees Hinata nude, and Hinata develops the undefeatable 64 Palms ultimate Bug Zapper Jutsu.
Bikochu arc has the best Naruhina interaction of the whole anime... So yes, considering Kishimoto didn't take the time to develop the relationship and still wants us to believe that Naruto fell in love with Hinata... It is fair to say these interactions are canon.
Yeah, I personally like the mizuki, curry of life, cursed warrior, kaima capture mission, star village, peddles escort and every lee focused episode, and the bomb one is probably just as good as the canon arcs to be honest. I still can't get over that Mizuki, you know, THE guy whose only talent was throwing a big shuriken, THAT Mizuki, just casually gets a fucking curse mark and tries to kill Naruto as a buff tiget man to get revenge. Part 1 filler is the actual dumbest, but sometimes it hits on something so out there it kind-of works.
From this video, episode 136 onward is all anime only. Was the manga chapter that covered episode 135 really it between then and the start of the Shippuden stuff?
In the menma arc menma didn’t have to kill himself Naruto was right there and could’ve sent a clone to set off the bombs I know it’s filler and writers had to get rid of him but still
Fair, but, looking INSIDE universe, clone technique is hard to do unless you have like a lot of chakra, and Menma was almost agonizing at that point, maybe it would be impossible for him to do it that way.
Naruto's Filler that somehow so interesting was when we saw alternate kurama power. Ofc the comedy filler was fun too like kakashi mask & Naruto hold your laugh competition with Shino 😂😂 But man , that kurama cakra was something else
The bikochu beetle arc pissed me off. I didn’t realize it was filler, unlike most other filler arcs they make it seem like it’s actually important, and then they fight over this beetle, get it, and Naruto ruins it all by farting. You shittin me
I just made it to the long filler list. First time watcher and I wanted to see if anything would interest me. I might go back and check some out someday but right now I just want to watch the story continue
Naruto was the first show I watched knowing it was anime. So I didn't know about the filler problems shounen had. I watched all Naruto filler until I caught up to the anime, which was around the time the chunin exam in Suna flashback arc happened. I have... vivid memories of that arc. It wasn't even that bad, but it interrupted the war arc. Which made it worse.
i never skip filler episodes, very rarely i would not watch it. However, i always go through the thumbnail, title and description at the least. I watched all Naruto, shippudden, One piece, bleach, Dragon ball, etc fillers. They were all great. Don't know why some people skip them. Those are probably same people who argues, japanese dub voices have more emotions in them. 😂 Manga is different, anime is different many times filler stories and characters influence the story in anime even if it is not canon according to manga. Also, you see more of side characters and their storyline which can help you connect with them better. For example, Zanpakto arc from bleach where you get to meet various zanpaktoes as person or last filler arc of naruto with gara in which gara is trying to be a better person following naruto's words. Otherwise Gara's transformation can seem very sudden. Anime fans are just kids imo with their weird logics about almost everything. 😂
Technically curry of life is semi canon maybe didnt happen, but show that raiga die and his swords were later recovered, he was made canon on might guy flashback years later
Technically the kurosuki family removal mission is canon and has been since the might dai flashback in the manga, where he’s made an appearance. This is because Raiga Kurosuki was one of the seven mist swordsmen to have fought against might dai in his 8th gate formation.
Once you get to the 'Filler Hell', I actually don't think the filler is all that bad. It sucks if you watch it all beginning to end, but if you selectively watch it like they're short films or smth they're fun. Not meant to be taken super seriously, not always good, but fun.
ngl wish you didn't use the sad music more like the ordinary life music from part 1 would fit better imho because Filler arcs are mostly silly otherwise it could imply the wish for the arcs to be canon if that's the case I can respect it i wish some of the arcs were canon too usually the cases of arcs that involve important women (like Movie 1 and Shipuuden Movie 1 for example) it's just the idea of Hinata having Romantic competition for Naruto would be funny and amazing
Kinda funny how that filler arc eventually ends up contradicting with the Canon. In Might Guy's flashback, we see Might Duy opening the 8th gate to fight off the Seven swordsmen of Mist. One of them was Raiga Kurosuki with the thunder blades. Since it is implied that Might Duy wiped out all of the Mist Swordsmen in that state, Raiga should canonically be dead there. Yet in this filler arc, we see Lee and the others facing Raiga. Since this was just a filler arc, nobody raised questions.
@@shash8048 Although Raiga was not canon in Naruto they made him canon in Shipudden and actually three of them survived: The samehada user, raiga and that guy from akatsuki

Yes.
I didn’t know about the concept of fillers as a kid either.
In the menma arc menma didn’t have to kill himself
Naruto was right there and could’ve sent a clone to set off the bombs
I know it’s filler and writers had to get rid of him but still
Fair, but, looking INSIDE universe, clone technique is hard to do unless you have like a lot of chakra, and Menma was almost agonizing at that point, maybe it would be impossible for him to do it that way.
@@pafoneto1275 Fair point, I admit I only watched that arc once a year ago so my memory is a bit foggy on it
J’ai beaucoup aimé les fillers, mon préféré était l’arc avec Anko car Anko est mon personnage préféré !
Let's be real we love part 1 fillers for the incredible Yura Yura song
Wait, kabuto and team 7 trying to leave the dead forest wasn't filler?
Naruto's Filler that somehow so interesting was when we saw alternate kurama power.
Ofc the comedy filler was fun too like kakashi mask & Naruto hold your laugh competition with Shino 😂😂
But man , that kurama cakra was something else
Doing god's work
Bro same even i didn't know fillers
I actually liked the filler episodes lol they were fun to watch
You have no idea i literally spent 2 days during my 1st year to complete OG Naruto series.
The bikochu beetle arc pissed me off. I didn’t realize it was filler, unlike most other filler arcs they make it seem like it’s actually important, and then they fight over this beetle, get it, and Naruto ruins it all by farting. You shittin me
Is anything after Sasuke retrieval cannon? I remember it being like a season or 2 of filler
all those episodes and not ONE about orochimaru training Sasuke
I remember even as a kid , the animation in some filler arcs was straight up horrendous
I've always knew that after Sasuke left nothing happened till shippuden.
OK so ep 216-220 was literally just teaser to things like the alien clans
I just made it to the long filler list. First time watcher and I wanted to see if anything would interest me. I might go back and check some out someday but right now I just want to watch the story continue
Naruto was the first show I watched knowing it was anime. So I didn't know about the filler problems shounen had. I watched all Naruto filler until I caught up to the anime, which was around the time the chunin exam in Suna flashback arc happened. I have... vivid memories of that arc. It wasn't even that bad, but it interrupted the war arc. Which made it worse.
Eu, antigamente, também não sabia dessas coisas de canon e filler, então cheguei a assistir quase tudo.
i never skip filler episodes, very rarely i would not watch it. 😂
Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden fillers all played up Naruto's goofiness without realizing what made it work in the main series.
The lesson from this is that Naruto should never escort anyone.
I like the last one where they rescue Gaara, it's quite fun
The kakashi face one has to be the best filler
Wish Yakumo Kurama came back, she seemed cool
put some respect on them, the naruto filler episodes go hard
Technically curry of life is semi canon maybe didnt happen, but show that raiga die and his swords were later recovered, he was made canon on might guy flashback years later
Anime canon, cuz in boruto they somewhat comfirmed that the event is actuakly happened, but only in anime timeline.
Doing gods work
Technically the kurosuki family removal mission is canon and has been since the might dai flashback in the manga, where he’s made an appearance.
This is because Raiga Kurosuki was one of the seven mist swordsmen to have fought against might dai in his 8th gate formation.
Boruto kinda comfirmed that it's canon
I have powerful memories of the Kakashi’s face episode and the Mizuki Furry form. I was convinced I imagined the furry one for years
Which was the filler arc, where they burried people alive?
We only watched these because they promised that Shippuuden would begin 'next week'. 😂
So which of these fillers are worth watching(including funny ones)? Besides episode 101 which is a special chapter written by Kishimoto himself.
The bikochu search, is mostly fun, a little romance
Gonsuki capture mission has funny interactions, and is lighthearted
168 is pure dumb comedy, really funny
175-176 are also funny, Kiba Naruto and Hinata had good chemistry and are mostly funny
192, is full comedy, but Ino is not that funny jaja
Once you get to the 'Filler Hell', I actually don't think the filler is all that bad. It sucks if you watch it all beginning to end, but if you selectively watch it like they're short films or smth they're fun. Not meant to be taken super seriously, not always good, but fun.
iirc the villain from the Curry arc retroactively became canon or something like that
ngl wish you didn't use the sad music more like the ordinary life music from part 1 would fit better imho because Filler arcs are mostly silly otherwise it could imply the wish for the arcs to be canon if that's the case I can respect it i wish some of the arcs were canon too usually the cases of arcs that involve important women (like Movie 1 and Shipuuden Movie 1 for example) it's just the idea of Hinata having Romantic competition for Naruto would be funny and amazing
Are you going to go over the filler arcs in Naruto Shippuden?
Some of the filler wasn't that bad. I also thought the curry of life arc was canon just because it had one of the swordsmen.
Oh ok. I see. That makes sense.
@@shash8048 Although Raiga was not canon in Naruto they made him canon in Shipudden and actually three of them survived: The samehada user, raiga and that guy from akatsuki
Last filler villain looks like the type of shit they make canon in Boruto 😭
"The Weight of the Prized Artefact" has to be one of the most insufferable 1 episode arcs in all of anime
There's a naruto episode, where at the end of it, a kind of monster merges faces in a bizarre scene, I don't remember which episode it is, could anyone help me?
It has to be around 136 episodes, the main enemy has an ability of absorb people and you can see their faces on his body deformities
Ep174 literally just predicted the first chapter of boruto manga
