  • This hive is a leftover partial cellbuilder and it has a new Queen that hasn't started laying yet, but she will any second...all the brood is hatched so all the mites are phoretic or exposed on the bees and not under capped brood. This is an Excellent opportunity to get a very high mite kill, but after seeing the condition of the hive,my experience tells me to wait and get these girls locked in first and then hit em before brood is capped on day 9.I know they have more mites than I want them to, so I will treat and check with alcohol wash afterwards...Thanks so much for liking the video and Subscribing and watching and Supporting Us!! Help our Family Grow ,the Baddest Bees Family will be a force to be reckoned with just you wait and see!

I've heard that a hive with a high mite load is sensitive to treatments because so many have open wounds from the mites eating on them. The acid burns the open wounds and they can abscond. Makes sense so maybe it's true. Yah, I love OAV also just wished it would penetrate the capped brood. We just don't have a silver bullet in controlling mites. They all have their drawbacks and limits.

Makes sense,I think they know something is wrong they can't get fixed and become a nervous wreck and no order from normal pheremones so chemical communication is broken down and the vape is last straw,I think it's alot of stuff adding up,I can't blame em for getting away from the acid in the wounds lol, that'd suck 😂🤣😂

I have my hives group 4 to 8 in the group (row) Sometimes the defend the area as a group or one is temperamental defend the area. That's a pain because i always have "that one " tonight I walked by the stock tank water and got stung. Never understood defending the 100 gallon stock tank. Be yourself.. that the best way tobe.

Thanks! I used to keep my bees on stands until I got a really bad case of Efb and I learned a valuable lesson.. but mainly I was just meaning most people think if you have a few hives you don't know anything, but if you have a pile you're a genius..I don't see it that way so I don't even attempt to look like it..
