    I think you will find that older material such as coins have been dropped and lost in the sand. However, over time the trees have grown and less and less people have access to these places (under the trees). This may be why you locate more of the older finds in these less accessible areas. Cool finding that 1881 coin.

      Yeah. Mate I wasn't complain'. You're probably right. The entire area, including the land in front of this particular beach must have had activity in the 1800s. I don't mind findin' em 🍻

    Coins in sand really don't survive well compared to coins found inland in soil but you never know unless you dig it.
