I have the same issue as bushdid911forever. The black foam cuff that comes with the toilet that goes over the piece that connects the tank to the bowl seems to make the tank stand off the bowl way to high! I am afraid to attempt tightening the screws that much. it is a real distance.

Just bought my american standard toilet kit. Only dissapointment was no water line included. What a bummer, and a waste of time! So pissed about this.
Wouldnt been a whole lot easier had you painted the walls BEFORE you installed the toilet?
