Y’know, something about this makes me think that you want to do another one of these “Incorrect History” videos considering this video was uploaded more than 7 months ago and you are now just publishing a Google form for suggestions for topics of said incorrect history videos
Cause the video just came out. I'm sure monday it'll be on world news "New Ted Nivison video (supported by God, Jesus, Allah and Zues) Titled "The Correct History of Pizza" played all over the world in government press conference, schools, hospitals and currently streaming on every computer, tv and radio in the world" Or something like that
This is by and far the most advanced, comical gaslighting Ive ever seen. In the first half, almost every beat is stated so factually, with enough truth in them to not be able to tell what is explicitly a joke and what is history. Its art.
I’m so happy someone FINALLY talked about the pepperoni dimension. It’s always left out when people talk about pizzas history and I’m happy someone did it justice.
I'm big into history so I just want to make one thing clear: This is the most factually accurate thing I've ever seen apart from his history lesson on milk. Thank you for teaching the uneducated Ted.
“His enemies called him The Grease, and I don’t know why...” A good historian admits when he doesn’t know something, rather than just making something up. Good on Ted.
I am SO ready for more episodes of Factually True History. Excellent writing, editing, delivery... everything. I've never been so excited for more episodes of a non-story-based web series in my life, and here I find out that there's another episode already about milk. Heading over to that ASAP.
The fact that Ted can read like 3 facts and create a whole storyline around it to gaslight us with remarkable levels of success, is undeniably impressive.
I was expecting some "drunk history" type thing where it just makes up stuff and shit, but this was actually very informative and true to history. As a historian myself I was very very impressed with the amount of detail and research that must've went into this. The inclusion of the unknown Little Caesars true statement of being stunted to say only "Pizza Pizza" is something people never seem to remember from school. So great Mr. TED.
Regardless of how this video performs Ted, I just want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. They way you took the format developed by the older video and refined it while bringing in some older bits was thoroughly enjoyable and quite funny. Good job.

Incredible work Ted, you are amazing :)

@@gadfly5792 same I legitimately thought caesar had a second child that came out real small because of a bear attack on his pregnant mother and that's where little caeser's comes from then he hit me with the pizza pizza
I like that Ted throws in little fabricated explanations and differences, like "though its unknown who," just to really gaslight us to believe him. Thanks Ted, I've been a sub for a while and will continue to be.
Fun fact: Mr. Mozzarella was called The Grease because of his torture method, grease boarding, where, similar to water boarding, he would tie someone to a chair, cover their face with a towel and pour large amounts fresh hot grease from a pizza on their face to get his answers he needed. It proved to be 100% more efficient than water boarding.
I enjoy the fact that Ted possesses that rare ability to talk some complete fuckery, literally any-fuckin-thing that a human brain can devise in the moment with absolute confidence. I feel like he's one of those people with whom it is actually impossible to tell if he's telling you the truth or just coming up with a more elaborate lie on the spot.
No joke, this is my new favorite video on this site. 17 minutes of brilliant writing, editing, comedy, and visuals. I never knew how much I didn't know about pizza. Thank you father Ted
@@Lukedub Sometimes "The Incorrect History of Pizza," can be a little confusing, but he only got 1 detail wrong in the whole video. "Pizzabeard" back then would have been spelled "PIZABAARD" which would be pronounced "Pizzabaard" not "Pizzabeard."

As someone studying for a history degree, I can clear things up for those confused: *Ted is 100% factually correct and should not be doubted* anyone who disagrees is wrong, stupid and can expect to find me waiting for them by their car in the parking lot.
What blows my mind is there was actually a "little caesar" (caesarian), born to Cleopatra. Caesar never acknowledged him as his son, but allowed him to keep his name.
As an Italian historian, everything that Ted said is absolutely correct by any mean and without a doubt should be on every history book of the world now please let my family go they did nothing to deserve this i beg you Ted
I've heard that the "Renaissance" was often referred to as the "Renaissauce" in reference to the sauce for pizza that was often tinkered with at the time, though historians debate this since they claim it was "too on the nose" or "A really fucking dumb name".
I feel so torn because I know this is an incorrect history on pizza but Ted is so charismatic that it sounds completely legit He could sell air to me and I would probably buy out his entire stock
I'm Italian (born in Italy), so seeing the history of pizza is an amazing experience for me. Here's a couple of other old pizza facts: the current south of Germany also had a couple of pizza recipes when exchanging good with the Roman Empire, and before people started using tomato sauce (waay later than the importation of tomato plants to Europe, friendly reminder that tomatoes were seen as purely ornamental because mortals though of them as poisonous), pesto sauce was used (mainly in Genova). Also there's different types of pizzas (napoletana, pugliese) in Italy too! This video is good and favorite puppy, I'll remember it next time I visit Dimension 1-C!
Hey Ted, I work with a teem of scientists, researching and finding new ways to reach the Pepperoni Dimension (Dimension IV-δ), and man have I got some good news. We're so close to actually making it, project 'Inoreppep' is in its later stages of development - with reverse-engineering and a committed team, I'm happy to say you will be the first to know when pepperoni is accessible again.
I’m convinced that the next international tragedy involving a gorilla will transport us into a universe where Ted is considered a prophet for these videos
The name "Renaissance" actually comes from small town in Italy (city currently unknown). According to ancient texts, a 3 month old baby had seen the preparation of a standard pizza, specifically the preparation of the sauce. As he was attempting to pronounce "Red Sauce", he slurred his words and blurted out what became the word "Renaissance". The townfolk started referring to pizza as that as an inside joke, until it spread throughout the entire country. It's a big part of pizza history that is not known by many, as the regular historians claimed the name as their own, and told the world it was theirs. But those who know the truth truly are an outlier, such as myself, and now you.
Ted's creativity never fails to impress me. He not only has great concepts for his videos, but he also expresses it perfectly. Hope to see more of these great videos in the future!

*Fun Fact:* Mozzarella cheese was first discovered by an ancient Viking conquerer named Vince Mozz, who found it when he was exploring a cave close to the earth’s molten core. The cave appeared to be a place of worship for an ancient religion, and also seemed to have some geometry unknown to our universe. This cave is now theorized to be a dimensional anomaly. Anyway, Vince brought the cheese up to the surface to show all the other Vikings in his clan, but was sadly killed by a group of ninjas sent by a rival conquerer of ancient China. The cheese never saw the light of day until what we now know as “Italy” rediscovered it. The government will try to deny Vince’s involvement in discovering mozzarella, or the fact that it’s possibly not of our reality, but they can’t hide the truth.

17:00 NOOOOO I truly dread the day when the world runs out off its only pepperoni supply Btw Ted this video had awesome editing! You weren't kidding on how much you worked on this and it really shows. Proud of you man!
15:07 “real dense birds that fly into windows” now what Ted is forgetting to mention here is that those exact species of demon-birds went on to inspire infamous ornithologist, researcher, and game designer: Abbaddon Blitzkriegel (don’t search him up because he totally exists) to create a popular mobile game he then dubbed “ill-tempered avians” or as we now know to be called “angry birds.” I don’t doubt Ted’s knowledge on this however, but I do think he might’ve left it out of the script by accident.
it's crazy that videos like this even exist on youtube, it;s so far a way from the status quo, the quality of the story writing, editing and acting are so far above almost everything else on this platform. Thank you Ted, keep up the good work.
I love how in the beginning I'm questioning if the Babylonians actually had texts about early pizza, and in the end I'm in tears over the great pepperoni war that will destroy us all. Amazing video as always Ted.
You forgot the great pizza depression of 1867, where there was a lack of products to create pizza so they put cheese over ketchup on bread and heated it.
As someone who is intimately acquainted with the history of Chicago. I can confirm that the catacombs DO, in fact, exist, and are incredibly dangerous. Do not go looking for them, you will get stuck and probably perish down there. Thanks for the history lesson! Truly, this is a lesson worthy of the History Channel.
This reminds me so much of horrible histories, specifically the news broadcaster that would yell about random stuff from history - this is very similar except better because it is factually true
There's something kinda funny to me about the idea of a separatist group that just wants to disconnect the entire world from a resource rather than separate themselves from anything
Great video Ted, except for one problem with your timeline. Tomatoes aren’t native to Italy, and are in fact native to South and Central America. Pizzabeard never used tomatoes on his pizzas, it wasn’t until after his hanging that they decided to use tomatoes instead of limes to prevent scurvy.
if I had the same confidence as Ted while he was telling us the obviously correct history of pizza, I would present this for my final and everyone would take this information as true facts, no proof needed
I can't tell whether I'm stupid or Ted is so good at this that I did not once question his "History Lesson" until the "Pizza Pizza" part during the little Ceasar bit... damn
The pi rap would have been top tier if Ted hadn't MISSED A 9 IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. As it is, it really takes a lot from the video. 1/10, beautiful and poignant retelling of history as it really was.

Btw Ted this video had awesome editing! You weren't kidding on how much you worked on this and it really shows. Proud of you man!
16:20 heartbreaking...
15:07
“real dense birds that fly into windows”
now what Ted is forgetting to mention here is that those exact species of demon-birds went on to inspire infamous ornithologist, researcher, and game designer: Abbaddon Blitzkriegel (don’t search him up because he totally exists) to create a popular mobile game he then dubbed “ill-tempered avians” or as we now know to be called “angry birds.” I don’t doubt Ted’s knowledge on this however, but I do think he might’ve left it out of the script by accident.
"they beat him so bad he got brain damage and after this event all he could say was pizza pizza" I love this
it's crazy that videos like this even exist on youtube, it;s so far a way from the status quo, the quality of the story writing, editing and acting are so far above almost everything else on this platform. Thank you Ted, keep up the good work.
and its all completely true and real its mad
0:05 apparently ted eats his pizza with no tomato sauce for shame
i would unironically watch and enjoy an actual educational lecture if it was done by ted nivison
I love how in the beginning I'm questioning if the Babylonians actually had texts about early pizza, and in the end I'm in tears over the great pepperoni war that will destroy us all.
Amazing video as always Ted.
I absolutely love this, please continue this a series. Would love to see 'The Incorrect History of Chocolate'
“Don’t believe me? Don’t look it up,” is one of the best phrases I’ve ever heard in my entire life. This video is a masterpiece.
You forgot the great pizza depression of 1867, where there was a lack of products to create pizza so they put cheese over ketchup on bread and heated it.
Can't believe St. Louis was never able to recover
The idea originated with a man named, “Lun Chable”. Who would later go on to make the culinary delicacy known as the “lunchable”
my brother and me would do this when we were younger and it tasted like shit 1/10 wouldn't recommend
I love how Ted is building his own universe with lore out of this incorrect history stuff
man ted is such a goddamn good storyteller. he's talking complete bullshit but i feel like im learning so much.
As someone who is intimately acquainted with the history of Chicago. I can confirm that the catacombs DO, in fact, exist, and are incredibly dangerous. Do not go looking for them, you will get stuck and probably perish down there.
Thanks for the history lesson! Truly, this is a lesson worthy of the History Channel.
i will not question the truth to this mans claims, ted is always right.
2:08 damn that pi song is a bop i could listen to that on repeat
Nearing the end of 2023, I’ve been told at 3 pizzerias that they’ll give me a lot of extra bacon instead of pepperoni, you were right
Can we just appreciate the intro? Absolutely stunning. Can't wait for more factually true history. Maybe an episode on cereal?
This reminds me so much of horrible histories, specifically the news broadcaster that would yell about random stuff from history - this is very similar except better because it is factually true
15:57 why did this genuinely make me feel sad????
love ur art
Because the pepperoni dimension is gone
Oops pizza painting was discovered in Pompeii
There's something kinda funny to me about the idea of a separatist group that just wants to disconnect the entire world from a resource rather than separate themselves from anything
Great video Ted, except for one problem with your timeline. Tomatoes aren’t native to Italy, and are in fact native to South and Central America. Pizzabeard never used tomatoes on his pizzas, it wasn’t until after his hanging that they decided to use tomatoes instead of limes to prevent scurvy.
if I had the same confidence as Ted while he was telling us the obviously correct history of pizza, I would present this for my final and everyone would take this information as true facts, no proof needed
honestly an inspiration to us all
I can't tell whether I'm stupid or Ted is so good at this that I did not once question his "History Lesson" until the "Pizza Pizza" part during the little Ceasar bit... damn
I took the pizza pizza thing so serious until the dimensions
The pi rap would have been top tier if Ted hadn't MISSED A 9 IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.
As it is, it really takes a lot from the video. 1/10, beautiful and poignant retelling of history as it really was.

OH MY GOD I _KNEW_ SOMETHING WAS WRONG I GOT WORRIED ID MISREMEMBERED PI FOR YEARS
wait what's the actual pi numbers
The incorrect history of Pi
My guess is he did it on purpose, just more gaslighting
"God is indeed real, he just thinks it's funny when we're sad" is one of the best lines I've ever heard
I have been absolutely goosin for a new factually true history video. Can't believe I've been lied to about pizza this whole time, thank you for unveiling the truth Mr. Nivison
woah man, I would've NEVER known about all these true stories about pizza. Thanks a lot, before this video I felt a void in my chest because I didn't know what to believe about all the history of Pizza... But now, I feel relief. Thank you, Ted
