I still hunt by canoe trip and yes it’s kind of retro to float down with traditional gear and a deer strapped to the gunnels. Unfortunately there aren’t that many people up for it anymore and my trips are solo.

When I started hunting with inline muzzleloaders, I used TC Shockwaves. They don't expand in deer sized game. Every deer had a entry sized exit wound and no blood for way too far. I switched to Barnes Expander MZ's and every deer drops in a pile. I was afraid that the hollow points wouldn't be accurate and I was dead wrong. Bullet performance is more important than caliber. If they aren't piling up, find a better bullet.

Nice buck from Southern Adirondacks,I wish the hunters down here would hunt like you and stop putting out their corn piles,it is so bad here it's not funny,then they drive around and show off their bucks like great hunters,pisses me right the hell off..poachers deserve to loose their hunting license fir life.
