No, Booker is a terribly flawed person. The story/game was a true Tragedy in every sense; exceedingly bittersweet. Seems Booker tried and tried to make up for the mistake yet the negative consequences always followed; even unto burial at sea.

Reminds me time at school, when once upon a time sci-fi and fantasy literature was considered "low-class, no value" literature, while we were forced to read some boring and naive works of the classic literature, because they were "art". Just several levels below some great sci-fi and fantasy pieces.
B:I has some flaws in the gameplay, but I enjoyed it a lot - more than some pieces of art and not without fair reason.
I feel cheated...Troy Baker can sing, play guitar, has an amazing speaking voice...and amazing hair. I now understand why some women hate super models.

Does anyone else like this version more then the one in the game? It still caries the message, but its so much more upbeat. imo at least
the strange thing about watching this after finishing the game is that you still have that taste in your mouth that everything is so screwed up,they all suffered and didn't have a happy ending (cuz' you haven't seen that scene after the credits yet,which's also opened to interpretation.) and you see the guys who made the game happy (not taking credits away from the rest of the crew).singing so happy and everything.you feel joy but still can't let go of that ''bad'' taste. it's just weird xD
btw,this is the best game I've ever played in my whole life,and its got the best story I've ever seen/read too.and I am 22 years old,i've played and read a lot of stuff so far
I remember when I used to go to church as a kid this song was sung during worship and was just as upbeat as this, so I assume it's meant to be sung like this, but for the game the somber soft tone that elizabeth puts out really fits the game better.
But yeah, I agree with you, hearing it like this is really nice, especially since Booker starts singing as well
Well, this is just two actors singing a song here. In the game, its a moment that booker and elizabeth share amongst the chaos of everything and inspite of everything going on around them. It was a beautiful moment in the game. And i love that you can miss it entirely if you just rush through the game without exploring.

This is the '30s text.
In the game they used the original text, in which the chorus asks if "is a better home awaiting", instead of stating that "there's a better home awaiting".
The orignal one, questioning one's own actions and one's own worthiness of grace, it fits much better in the game.
8 years later coming across this. This is such a subtle thing I never noticed before. As a British Lutheran we always sing the original text of “is there” but I know my Catholic raised partner sings the new text of “there is”. Small weird differences.

Same here. It just shows the awesome chemistry these two have with each other. In the behind the scenes video where Troy berates Courtnee is pretty intense but totally sells the scene.
I love how Ken calls Troy "Booker".
I come back to this every now and then, seeing them sing together is so cosy.
And this is the first time I've noticed Ken's directions for a slower tempo, for Booker to pluck the strings gently. That right there is when he figured out what he wants in the final scene because we got exactly that. And it was beautiful.
When I grow up I want to be Troy Baker.

The music is beautiful, but what I love most is that they played and sang this just on the spot. No post-production polish, just two people singing. Great stuff.
The feels. This and The Last of Us had the best stories in any game I've played, Uncharted 2 also.

Bioshock Infinite's ending is definitely better than both games... but The Walking Dead has to be one of the best zombie apocalypse stories in a game I have ever played!
The best games in my opinion are The Last of Us, Bioshock infinite, and Walking Dead seasons 1&2. Really enjoyed all of them. Best games ive played

found this scene on youtube 1 year after finished the game, thinking its somekind of backstage footage
now when in quarantine, I play this game again, this time, I go to every corner of the map, watched the credit, and when this video show up in the credit, all my emotions exploded
I come back to this video every so often. By far one of my favorite renditions of this song.

Ken Levine speaks to Troy and Courtnee as their character's in game names, and corrects Troy because it wouldn't make sense that Booker as a character, knowing his story, would be a phenomenal singer. This speaks volumes to how good a director Ken is

This song is freaking amazing. They got a church hymn to work for a game about shooting killing and general craziness. It works so well with the general story and this game is one of few that truly changed my life. So sad the writer left

With the theme of multiple worlds where booker comes every time to Columbia and always gets heads. And at the end how you actually do end up breaking the circle.

For anyone that wants to know the first line she is trying to figure out is "When back home Lord, home was lonesome. Yes my mama, she was gone. All my brothers sisters crying. What a home, so sad and lone." I wish they figured this out when they were recording so we could have a full made song. But from start to finish is great before she just says that's it at the end.

Between the music, art direction, and the story, Infinite is the most artful thing I have seen in a long time. Also, the controls are so tight and the combat is so fun because of the sky lines, vigors, and creative enemies like the handymen, motorized patriots, firemen, etc. that the interactive part also qualifies it as art in my book.
He's in key. Not in her pitch, but in key regardless. When two people sing in different pitches/tones together it's called harmony.

I'm pretty sure he said Booker on purpose as he was directing the character because they were trying to work out the scene in which they decide to do an impromptu duet.

4:54: It's interesting that he calls him "Booker" and not "Troy". Keeping character, I suppose.
Keep in mind that Troy was also doing work for Joel in Last of Us parallel to Booker for Infinite, so I have a feeling Ken referring to him as 'Booker' was his way of keeping Troy in his Booker mind, and not his Joel mind.

He is not entirely off key, he sung in a slightly different key due to
1) He's a guy, and can't sing as high as her
2) Different key so that it can be differentiated between hers and his. This give the song more depth. If it annoys you, it means you are focusing on the wrong voice. He is supposed to be the backup, just like his guitar playing.
