This was exactly what I needed and the thread idea worked perfectly to reconnect the spring. I thought I needed a whole new module until I saw your video. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
You are a fantastic human!!! FYI - for anyone that had trouble with the string trick or trying to fish the spring through the wheel assembly, you can also easily remove the small black plastic cap that retains the motor and one end of the spring on the arm. It is pretty easy to catch the spring on the open end and the put it back on the cap and screw it back down. This is probably the way they are assembled at the factory.
Thank you so much bro. You saved my day today and next week as well. My spring got disconnected and your video guided me. Kudos to you and God bless you and family for the extra effort in helping others. 👍🏻
Thanks! I used a loop of thin copper wire with a sheath, the kind in cat3/phone cable, and some needle nose pliers. After getting the spring hooked, I then snipped off one leg of wire and slipped the other one out. Bingo! 15 minutes, tops. You demo was especially valuable for the disassembly info, too.
Thank you for posting this! I was just about to buy a new roomba. didn't figure I could fix mine. Thought the wheel was just broken. Took it apart using your instructions and sure enough the spring had come loose. Now it works like a charm again. I am very grateful.
Thanks for the tip. I found that instead of using the string or wire. You can release the sprint from the opposite end. This will give you the ability to place the spring on the harder side easier. Then just pull it back with the clip that it was under and screw it back down.
Thank you so much! Your video was so easy to follow. And I had my machine torn apart I just could not figure out where that spring was supposed to attach. You are a life saver.
Thank you so much! Used dental floss and made it more rigid with a bit of tape. One thing tho, if you remove the dustbin before flipping it you can reach in and there is a release button for the wheel and it comes out very easily.
Thank you so much for this video! Had this exact same issue and my S9 couldn't dock because the dislodged wheel spring. Much appreciated, have a good day!
There is a much easier way to do this, if you look at the other end of the spring there is a screw, undo that side first, removing the spring entirely, this makes it easier to clip the side that he used the string on, which is a pain in the a**, then take pliers and pull down and add the screw back on. This took about 1 minute total to fix.
This was excellent. Per another comment here used dental floss instead and it was perfect. Don’t waste your time with sewing thread. No need to remove the the spring from the other end either.
That's a neat trick to use the string to thread the spring hook into place. My spring's hook broke off on one end. Is it a standard part I can use/order?
Thank you!! Your instructions worked like a charm! I wish I had seen your video before ordering a new wheel kit!

Thank-you Thank-you so very much. The spring was also my problem. The hubby was already upset about the cost of it, but now it is new again.🤗

Thanks for posting this video! You saved me since Roomba does not have the wheels available on their site.

This worked amazing. I used dental floss. Cancelling my new wheel order right now
I did too 😂

This saved me tons of time! The idea of threading a string to pull the spring was genius! Thank you so much for this video!

Thanks for this video. I used a small thin paperclip instead of the thread and it worked perfectly. Thank you again!
Wheels are not sold in Japan, and the wheel repair fee was 12000 yen(US$106).(´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`)
Thanks so much, I was able to repair it myself.🤩✨
You're a lifesaver! The spring fell off of mine today and what a pain!
Worked great for me! I used dental floss, a butter knife, and some tweezers to get the floss positioned where I need it. Took me about 5 minutes.
Thank you so much! Used dental floss and made it more rigid with a bit of tape.

Thank you so much for the tutorial! My new roomba encountered the same issue. Hope you stay safe during these times!

I don't have mine, yet, but this will be great info if it ever happens! I appreciate you making this video.
This was very clearly explained! Saved me a great deal of time having to get the wheel module replaced. 👌🏽
Worked like a charm! Thank you!

OMG thank you - it worked so quickly
Exactly what I needed! Thanks so much.
I thought I had broken some permanent part until I found your video. Same issue, same wheel, I was just removing hair from the wheel, is it common?

Ouch. I do not know - I wonder if iRobot support would be of any help there.
Thank you Thank you!! This helped me so much!
Extremely useful thank you very much
I think my spring have been lost. Do you know where to by replacement? At least size of it
Exact fix for a roomba that would not dock properly. Thanks
All said, WORKS!!!! 👍
If you remove the bin, you’ll find the release latches to more easily remove the wheel assembly.
Thank you so much for this!!!
Very helpful video thank you!
Thank you!!
thanks
