I have this exact truck with green wheels, been sitting in my dads shed for 15 years and she runs great still. Got a 2 speed gearbox coming as mine was just one speed
Should also turn radio on first. Starter boxes are better than those damn pull starts. Hell, even the traxxas ezstart is better. The only pull cord that's decent is the ones on the bigger 2 stroke gas ⅕ scales. The 32cc in my Redcat Rampage MT has never broke. 4 years now.
Mine NEVER started that easily. Ever. Fill, prime, glow plug, pull starter cord, replace glow plug again, pull starter cord, break starter cord, get pissed, throw the truck back in the bin in the garage till you forgot why you never use it and try again.
Or just convert it to an Electric, brushless sensored/sensorless motor, 6S lipo. Bash the nuts and bolts out of it!! Finally cuss yourself for not going the electric route a long time back... 😂

Went to the hobby store and spent an evening freeing the piston and replacing missing and broken parts, new clutch. Got it running that night at like 2am and the moment we got it moving I was instantly hooked. Went out and bought 2 used ones off Facebook marketplace. Fixing them at the moment. Electric may be more reliable and faster. Cheaper etc but man nothing beats the sound of the nitro motor running and the smell of the exhaust

First thing I'd do is remove the pull start and use a drill to start it. Lot easier and the pull starts break very easy. Cool truck bro 🔥

i can smell and feel the clip, so much burn blisters from pulling ^^
Correct method;
Fuel car, pull starter cord twice.
Snap starter cord.
Buy new starter cord, replace and start at step one again 😂

I assure you that was a hot-start. They don’t just play easy like that
in cold start you need to open the carburetor a little more than when in use, than it would easily start, especially if enough nitro is in the engine

Glow plug has to be on there for atleast 45 seconds before pulling rip cord
