I'm not saying it because of his age, I'm saying it because of how he was trained. Since Tyson listened to Don King and fired the team that Cus D'amato left him, he has never been the same. He was no longer so fast, nor so agile, nor so aggressive, he no longer moved his head or threw combinations. He simply got carried away by the parties and the sycophants and look how long it took him to get into the ring out of shape and lose the titles in 1990. The Tyson of 1988 has nothing to do with the Tyson that came later. I may be wrong, but in my opinion the Tyson who, for example, fought with Larry Holmes or Michael Spinks was literally indestructible. Especially because with Kevin Rooney in his corner he was mentally stronger and did not let frustration get the best of him at the first problem during the fight.

Y'all saying this isnt prime Tyson are nuts. The results wouldn't of changed. Lewis was a complete savage. He's the best hw in the last 75 years if not more. Depending your take. Lewis should be talked about more then Tyson. Tyson more popular and therefore he's everyone's #1 but Lennox Lewis was the real deal.

Lennox and Holyfield won because they outboxed Tyson, they kept him away with their jabs and reach. No boxer that ever let Mike get close survived. Mike Tyson mastered the “one inch punch,” by being able to throw bombs while in tight with his opponents, where they couldn’t see it coming, and couldn’t throw bombs themselves. Holyfield gave us a master class the first time around in keeping Mike from connecting in close -Lewis noticed and copied this technique.
