Truly Smith is one off. When people talk about positive role models and what masculinity should look like in the 21st Century I always think of him. Absolutely zero pretention or ego, but such poise, openness and artistic confidence. An extreme rarity in modern music. Long live the Cure (and let's hear those 33 songs that you have under your bed Robert!).
Amazing and great to see him so comfortable with himself. He really went all in in doing interviews go. And he seems so at ease. After over 40 years he has learn to co exist with fame instead of working so hard against. But he has done it his way. I so appreciate if him letting us get such a in depth behind scene look at his process.
What a great interview. It’s rare to see Robert feel so comfortable and be so open about his work and even personal life. It’s so wonderful to have some insight into his brilliant mind! Thank you for posting it.
It makes me sad to hear him say those things about Bloodflowers... I love that album so much and Watching Me Fall is one of the greatest songs EVER WRITTEN and of course the title track and the way it all flows and builds and tells this simple sounding story but it's actually an extremely deep, obscure, convoluted mess of a concept to try and articulate with emotional clarity but he totally pulled it off. The first time I heard that album was actually one of the most intense first listens I've had with a Cure album, it just hit me right away ❤❤❤ I think it made a fine Part 3...
I hope It can never be the same and Step into the light appear on the next album.Dissapointed It can never be the same wasn't included on the new album.
Most contemporary popular music is just so contrived and insincere. Then, like a breath of fresh air, Songs of a lost world. Perhaps it should be ...for a lost world?
I definitely think he doesn't need to be asked to explain the album track by track anymore! Hehe. I personally appreciate it because I love hearing Mr. Smith talking about his writing process but I'm sure at this point he's probably burn't out on it a bit! 😅
I really like Robert Smith, however this album is sooo over rated. It’s ok, not great. I think so many people have just got drawn in to the hype around it.

Robert Smith is like Santa, he is everywhere.
42 years and that love never ends.
I wouldn't imagine what life looks like if this legendary band calls it a day. 🤔
Endsong is a true masterpiece.
It is really. So powerful
Totally agreement
What a great interview - thank you so much for posting!
waiting for part 6 of that documentary!! :))
@@neurasthenic Thank you! There is definitely enough great new cure media!
Robert is one of those people to whom you can talk about interesting stuff long into the night

Beautiful interview. Thank you for this.
"the boy I never knew" on the new album? oh that would just be awesome 🙂
Totally agree with you. Such a powerful ballad and it is so nice that Robert shed some light in this interview about that😊
Great interview and thank you for posting. Robert is just the best of the music I love. Can't wait for more music.
Fabulous interview… Mr Smith is the master of soundscapes and sorrow 😊

I hope they release the whole show.I was disappointed the whole show wasn't included in the new release.
What with being interviewed by the legend that is Mr Burgess last week and now this I’m sure by now Mr Smith must be bored of these interviews

I thought this interview was more interesting than the Burgess one - more layered and with more insights into the process
@@ClockwiseCat I think so too!

Yes Robert, you can say “nuthouse” …
I really like Robert Smith, however this album is sooo over rated. It’s ok, not great. I think so many people have just got drawn in to the hype around it.
yeah, I agree, but most fans I know in real life seem to agree that it is nowhere near as great as the internet reviewers have been saying.
