    What's up with these fangames being inflated with gimmicks on spellcards and player characters? So needlessly bloated. Just have normal patterns

      Hmm, I personally like when people experiment with danmaku. Straightforward and "normal" patterns are fine and all, but they're exactly that-- straightforward. You know what to expect with those kinds of patterns, and there's not much to say about them that hasn't already been said.
      I like experimental patterns and gimmicks because even if they end up being bad/unbalanced/unfun, at least they're exploring the boundaries of what you can do with danmaku. And when the gimmicks turn out to be fun and interesting, that can open up opportunities for more fun patterns.

      gimmicks are awesome, though just gotta make sure you don't go TOO overboard like some len'en scripts ive seen, especially for a longer script
      for scene based gameplay, gimmicks especially work great

      ahahaha. reminds me i stopped playing ido fangames for the longesg time because of the bonkers performance issues. last one i played is that one rainbow egypt

      Its completely fine when its one gimmick each, this isn't going overboard at all
